凯凯文范I was exploring Guizhou and decided to hike Fanmingshan. Compared to others, this was a reasonable price and distance to the scenic area. The immediate surrounding village 寨沙东 had some restaurants and stores (although I walked up the road to eat) and was 40 min walk to the entrance. A few other lodging choices are in more remote sections of the river, with only 1 or 2 store fronts or none at all;while a bit cheaper may have no easy transportation or drive options.
I was the only person staying and got upgraded, and enjoyed their light breakfast in the morning. The room was well furnished and had a built-in mattress heater which was excellent in the winter. The owner also helped drive me to the entrance and also arrange the 35 rmb shuttle back to Tongren HSR. All in all excellent value and hospitality!

VVojtechThis was the best service we received in China so far. We booked the hotel quite last moment after contacting the owner, because they were extremely helpful securing for us the Fanjingshan tickets offline (because online tickets were sold out). Then they prepared breakfast and snacks for us before climbing the mountain. It is only a bit over a kilometer from the scenic area entrance. Our concierge Xiao Wu and his hospitality was beyond anything we ever experieneced in any hotel, he helped us organize a transportation, helped with translating, recommended the best restaurants in the area and even handled discounts for us.
When it comes to the hotel itself - beautiful smaller place but with lot of rooms. The pool is nice relaxing treat after hard walking the main attraction in the area. Always clean and well organized. The only thing we did not understand was that big rooms had only one double bad, and room with two double beds was comparatively smaller..
I wish more international tourists would visit this area and this hotel in particular, the staff would appreciate practicing some English.. :-)

AAixueerThis guesthouse has an excellent location, very close to the east gate of Fanjing Mountain. The room was spacious and clean, and the large bed was super comfortable for sleeping. The soundproofing in the room is great; even when people in the opposite room were talking loudly and I could hear their voices clearly in the hallway, I couldn't hear a thing once inside my room. The owners are very hardworking; not only do they run the guesthouse, but you can also eat meals there. Their handsome son is incredibly diligent; whenever there are guests dining, he helps serve food and clear tables. I felt terrible when I accidentally cracked a toothbrush cup badly, but the owners both immediately said it was fine and even offered me a new one, refusing to let me pay for it. Thank you so much! 🌹🌹🌹

GGuest UserThe riverside right by the entrance is simply enchanting. Waking up and pulling back the curtains in the morning, I was greeted by a soft mist cloaking the distant views and the river, truly like a wonderland. A stroll down to the riverbank was incredibly invigorating. I'll definitely return for another stay if time permits.
It happened to be the Dragon Boat Festival, and the owner thoughtfully prepared Zongzi (rice dumplings) and the local specialty, Miancai Ba, early that morning. It gave me such a heartwarming, home-away-from-home feeling.

RRaghunath C G NairAmazing! Fascinating! Fanjingshan was the final stop of our memorable 10-day tour of Guizhou Province, and we truly could not have chosen a better place to conclude our journey. We felt genuinely blessed to stay at this lovely guesthouse for three nights. From the very beginning, the owner Mr. Zhang Haotian and his family made us feel completely at home; they were warm, engaging, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.
The rooms are tastefully designed and thoughtfully laid out, perfectly sized for comfort. Our room offered a soothing view of the river, along with a private balcony; an ideal spot to relax with your favourite tea or coffee. The modern touches were impressive too, especially the high-tech sensor toilet, which added a pleasant surprise. The three-storey guesthouse is equipped with an elevator, a thoughtful convenience for guests with heavy luggage or those who may find climbing stairs challenging.
Dinner, lovingly cooked by the family, was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that reflected both their hospitality and culinary skill. Every meal felt homely and satisfying. We only wish we had taken more and better photographs of the guesthouse. Without a doubt, this is one place we will return to.
As for the enchanting Fanjing Mountain itself, the owner drove us to the scenic area entrance. He even offered to pick us up later, but we chose to walk back instead, enjoying the cool climate. Fanjing Mountain is magical in its own right. The steep cable car ride to the summit, which takes over 20 minutes, was an experience in itself, offering breathtaking views of the mountain ranges stretching endlessly around us. At the top stands the age-old Buddhist temple, serene and awe-inspiring, perfectly harmonising with its natural surroundings.
We loved the guesthouse, we are very grateful to Mr. Zhang and his family for their kindness, and deeply thankful for the unforgettable experience at Fanjing Mountain. It was the perfect ending to a remarkable journey.

GGuest UserOver the years, I've mostly opted for B&Bs when traveling. So, when I saw the spacious, stylish, and comfortable common areas at Huanlin, I was truly surprised. For a B&B, such amenities feel quite luxurious.
The room itself is large with simple decor, comfortable bedding, and a full set of disposable toiletries. It also features smart home appliances throughout. Everything was pretty much perfect, except for the bathroom door not having a lock.
The B&B is conveniently located, just a 10-15 minute walk from the scenic area entrance and the visitor center.
The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming. After our visit to Fanjing Mountain the next day, she even proactively helped us arrange transport to Tongren, cut us some watermelon, and invited us to share their homemade lunch. Beyond her excellent customer service, she was constantly busy with renovations for the outdoor space in the backyard. It's clear she's put a lot of heart into running this B&B, and I believe she'll bring even more wonderful improvements to Huanlin Courtyard.

AAnonymous UserFacilities: The room facilities are complete, cozy and practical, located within the scenic area, right next to the sightseeing bus stop.
Cleanliness: The room is very clean and tidy.
Environment: The hotel is located within the scenic area, in a quiet and comfortable environment.
Service: The owner's service is excellent; they proactively offer pick-up and drop-off services and provide hiking tips, which are very helpful. However, you can no longer board the sightseeing bus directly at the station; you still need to queue outside the main gate in the morning. It's more suitable for tourists who haven't managed to book the earliest entry time. Regardless of the booking time, the owner can take you into the park as one of the first groups, avoiding most tour groups and quickly getting to Fanjingshan.

GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value! The riverside view is absolutely stunning; you open the window to beautiful mountains and flowing water. The guesthouse itself is tastefully decorated. Everything was spotless, and the bedding was super comfortable. The owner provided excellent service, even sharing helpful hiking tips. Their homemade dishes were delicious. Plus, there's hassle-free parking for those driving. It's truly a fantastic spot for a relaxing getaway.

GGuest UserIt was a very satisfying trip. Before choosing a place, I hesitated about whether to stay closer to the scenic area entrance, but based on my experience, I would recommend staying directly in the village. It's more physically demanding for hiking, and meals are more convenient. The owner can pick you up and drop you off at the scenic area entrance. We also found out after arriving that you can arrange pick-up and drop-off services in Tongren city in advance, and the price is slightly cheaper than taking a taxi. The owners are very easy to talk to, so there's no need to worry about any disputes. Although the facilities aren't particularly high-end, it's worth the price.

Very Good
GGuest UserVery friendly receptionist. Rooms are surficially clean but rather run down. A deep-clean and slight renovation wouldn't hurt. Especially a new bathroom bin and soap in the bathroom are strongly recommended. For warm water let the water run for 3-5 mins. A bit noisy and bright at night but not too bad. Sheets, towels etc were clean. Walking distance to East Gate of Fanjingshan.
