4-Star Hotels in Yangon

We were on a family trip and stayed here as a family. The room was exceptionally clean and the service was excellent. It was very comfortable, and the bedding and other amenities were very thoughtful and attentive. We were extremely satisfied. We would definitely recommend it to our friends if they come here again.

I prefer Wyndham as a solo traveler but going with my partner, we decided on a bigger room and the 2 bedroom offered by Kantharyar was perfect. Dual washer and dryer saved me from hotel laundry service. Rooms are big, housekeeping came daily, checking in was quick and easy. Can't complain, service and amenities are superb. The Kantharyar come with the same amenities as Wyndham, you get the pool, small gym, and there's a shopping mall right next door.

Warning: Major language barriers and smoking issues at this new hotel While this is a newly built hotel, I was shocked by the lack of English proficiency at a 5-star establishment in Yangon. The front desk staff spoke only Mandarin and Burnmese. Ironically, the IT technician was the only person who understood a bit of English, which was the only redeeming factor regarding communication. Key issues for international travelers: Language Barrier: Do not expect to use English with the reception; it is primarily a Mandarin-speaking environment. Smoking Regulation: Despite ”No Smoking” signs in the lobby lounge, guests were smoking openly on the coffee tables. I also encountered guests smoking in the hallways and elevator lobbies on the guest floors. It felt as though I was in China rather than Myanmar. Dining: The breakfast buffet is strictly Chinese-style. There were no Burmese food or drink options available at all. Room Condition: My room had a persistent smell of smoke and was full of mosquitoes. This is likely because housekeeping leaves the doors wide open during cleaning.

I commend all staff for your excellent service and attention to detail. You maintain the high standards of Myanmar hospitality, and I thank you all. In particular, I really loved the view of Shwedagon Pagoda from my room. You have an excellent location as well, and the breakfast is hearty and satisfying. The room is of moderate size but very dark. There is no light. The window cannot be closed tightly. There is a portable air conditioner but the window cannot be closed. Fortunately, there are no mosquito bites. The hotel staff is enthusiastic. When checking in, someone will hand over drinks. Breakfast is selected one day in advance. It is not a buffet, but the taste is good and rich. After eating, they will take the initiative to ask how it tastes and what drinks are needed. The empty plates will be collected in time. The hotel is in a good location. It is within walking distance of the Shwedagon Pagoda. It also passes the zoo in the middle. The zoo ticket is cheap and very close to the animals

The staff were very accommodating and nice. When I arrived, the room was not ready yet so they upgraded my room from deluxe to premium. It was very spacious and clean. The only cons is that, considering the couple of stairs to climb up, nobody is at the front door to welcome and help the incoming guests. So, I had to carry all of my luggage up to the front desk. But overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely stay there again, especially if they will offer free room upgrades again.

Was on a Business trip in Yangon, got this Hotel recommended. Good Location on a central Street with Bars and Eateries. A big Supermarket is just across the Street. The Hotel is in good shape, the staff friendly and eager to be of service. At their roof-top facilities and from the windows one has a good view to the Shwedagon Pagoda in the distance. Will go there again. Was a worthwhile stay.

It's a true journey through time, an enchan**ent that takes you to a ship from the year 1920. Several original details, such as a clock, the minibar inside a barrel, the bluetooth speaker that imitates a record player, all the leather furniture. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it, without a doubt, it was a beautiful experience. The only point of the location is at night, as there is a night market that doesn't seem so safe and, despite being vintage, some small details lack maintenance such as the carpet in the room, for example

This was another stay for me. The cheapest rooms are so dark, day and night, that it hinders work, so this time I booked the next room category up, which was about 1000 yen more expensive. The room was spacious and bright, though still a little dim at night. It might be a structural issue, simply not enough lights. But upgrading was definitely the right choice. The soundproofing in the room is a bit weak; I could hear sounds from the next room, but since the room was large, it didn't bother me too much. The nearby supermarket was also convenient. The breakfast, while limited in variety, was decent. The staff are great too. Room cleaning is thorough and not skimped on. However, the room being dark and the carpet being worn out and dirty (frayed) even though it's cleaned might be a concern for some.
