The hotel is one of the first five star places in Surat. So it’s got history. It’s showing in a few places but no more than expected with a property this age. Service was extremely good and attentive. Overall, a good place to stay in Surat.

Nice stay

Very bad rooms. Doesnt look like 5 star at all with paint peeled off and furniture worn out. Lobby is nice. But overall experience is really bad.

It is located in Surat, Gujarat, India, and for those who are a little picky, there is no place to sleep other than here. Other places in Surat are a bit worse. There are food, cleanliness, and alcohol stands exclusively for foreigners. Even the sauna and gym spa are great in Surat.

It is said that after staying in Surat for a few days at Park Inn and discovering the secret of bottled water, I decided to change to a more upscale hotel. I think I will not continue to be unhappy with water. Marriott's hotel was formerly called The Gateway Hotel Athwalines, which had been transferred to Marriott for management the previous year. If stepping on the ** once is good luck, then stepping on the ** twice is definitely unlucky. I never thought that the bottled water in this hotel is purchased by the same company as Park Inn, and they also use recycled bottled water. I did not underestimate the friendliness of Indian people, but I did overestimate the honesty of Indian capitalists. This hygienic point is not for the room, but for the drinking water. But what can be done, complaining to the manager is also perfunctory. So if Ctrip can't truthfully present the real reviews, it will be playing tricks on tigers.

The reception was good but the restaurant service was poor

Avoid booking this property; the staff is inadequately trained, lacks respect for customer requests, and tends to ignore them. I was thoroughly disappointed as Marriott usually provides a white-glove treatment, but this location's staff is inexperienced and unprofessional. Save your money and book elsewhere, as they fail to meet even the basic standards.
