Ximen Citizen Hotel Reviews

Building is old and the room we got has little ants/insects crawling on the table and the wall next to the bed. The room is small and two single beds are pulled together to form a double bed. The worst part is that my husband ended up with many red itchy bumps on his back and arms. We believe there are bed bugs. We told the front staffs about this and the only thing they did was to change the bedsheets. No change of rooms. We initially booked this place for 4 nights but could not bear to stay for the entire duration. Did not sleep the 3rd night, checked out early (no refund), and found another place to stay instead. We stayed in three different places while touring Taipei, this is the worst one.

Location is good, close to the shopping areas and restaurants. If the room door has one more lock, would be more secure.

There are two buildings and the one on Google is the one for more than one person's rooms. I wish it was an information I got before arriving so I didn't have to walk around, even though both are really close by. The other building only has a Chinese name on Google map - 西門星辰精典大飯店. Apart from that, my stay was very good! Room is nice, I didn't use the TV so I don't know about its quality. Aircon works wonder and the shower's pressure is top tier ! 🤣 We also got free hot drinks and I do love my hot chocolate from time to time. 😌 Window is useless though, it feels like you don't have one. Location is perfect. Not too far from the subway and some bus stops.

They dont have lobby or lounge for guests to wait and they dont allow early check in 😔😔

Excellent service and value for money. They cleaned the room every day and refilled all the toiletries. Just a 2-3mins straight walk to Ximending street (Pop mart)

Great location, friendly staff, walking distance to Ximending

Hotel location is convenient as it's only walking distance from Ximen's shopping district and MRT. Lots of shops and and restaurants around so you will never run out of options. The receptionist was accommodating with all our inquiries. We loved the fact that we can drink as many coffee and hot chocolate as we want from the drink machine in the lobby. There is a water dispenser as well to refill water. My sister and I had a wonderful stay and there isn't really much to complain about. The decor is quite old fashioned but our room was clean enough which is most important. Overall, we are satisfied. I would recommend to stay here if you are looking for an affordable decent place to stay for a couple of days in Ximen.

Nearby around the area and a lot of shops and mall around. The hotel is clean and the staff are good.

I had a great stay at this hotel! Its strategic location near Ximending Street is perfect for exploring the area. The room was quite small but very clean and fully equipped with all necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommended, worth the price for my 5d4n trip :)

The room is small but already good for one person. Location is awesome, few minutes to major shopping and eating areas. Less than 10 minutes to MTR. Reception staff has good service and smile. Room cleaning is up to standard. Lots of TV channels but all are old films. However there are many other similar size hotels nearby, may want to try on next time.

The overall experience was great! Hotel staff were lovely, there’s free coffee in the lobby, and the location was convenient. However, out of the 4 of us who booked the room, I developed severe hives/allergies (?) on the legs which looked like bed bug bites. They were itchy from day 3-5 (and when I got home).

This hotel is close to lots of restaurants and stores, also close to Ximending Night Markets so it’s very convenient. The rooms are quite small but it’s okay for sleeping only.
