"the location is great, it is near xi men ding night market, walkable distance. super convenient to travel around too. will definitely go back there again."
"Absolutely fantastic! It's an old-school, grand hotel that's really impressive. The management is excellent, the rooms are well-maintained, and the bathroom was spotless – not a spec of dirt anywhere. Our suite had multiple balconies, but the neighboring Sky Room offers a better value with its direct view of Taipei 101, even if the balcony is a bit smaller. The eastward-facing rooms have great views of the river, Taipei 101, and the city skyline with its bustling highway. I highly recommend the Grand Hotel Yuanshan – it's truly beautiful!"
"The private onsen & public one are both very nice! Feel relaxed after using them.
Tried dinner (a la carte) at 2/f restaurant. Can tell that their chef is very professional & even clam soup, fried veggie & avo burdock roll taste so good.
Breakfast is so-so. Too many carbs & sweet stuff (& not many protein to choose from). Moreover, steamed sweet potatoes & veggie are cold & some with sour taste - so assume they are not fresh or over-cooked.
But overall very positive experience & will find time to visit again."
"This is the second time I have stayed here. I love the private hot spring in the room. The check-in time listed is inconvenient and the place needs a little TLC and perhaps some solutions to its predominantly windowless dark feel. In the end you get what you pay for. They are trying to offset their location with a pretty swanky shuttle to the metro station. That would have been good to know when the reservation was made as getting there with luggage on a 40° day could have been avoided and added another star to their service score."
"During my visit to Taiwan, I stayed at 109 Hostel, which offers both dorm-style 'Dome' rooms and private rooms. The 'Dome' rooms are shared dormitories, each with an en-suite bathroom that features a separate shower area and, importantly, a bidet. Please note that towels and toothpaste incur a small charge (around 5-10 NTD), but complimentary hair styling amenities are provided.
A female staff member was waiting for my check-in, and they were accommodating with early check-in and luggage storage. The hostel is conveniently located, easily accessible by bus or MRT Main Station, and just a pleasant 10-minute walk through the city. Walking to Ximending is also very convenient from here.
Despite being a mixed-gender dorm, I felt very safe and secure. Most guests were Japanese and Korean, with a few Westerners, and everyone was considerate and didn't disturb each other. The beds were soft and the pillows good, making for a comfortable stay. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Taiwan."
"You can’t ask for a better location. Across the street from Taipei main station (go underground, don’t walk across the street as the crossing isn’t directly outside).
Some people say it’s old but I didn’t care, everything works and in order and staff were wonderful.
Thumbs up to the full length mirror."
"The hotel is located in a great location and has very comfortable beds. It supplies complimentary water bottles every day. The room has a huge window and the light behind the bed is wonderful. :)"
"I booked a city view and they sent me to a windowless box …I immediately returned to reception and they sent me to a side room with a glimpse of the city … room was nice, modern, big tv with cristal clear picture and about a 100+ channels .. location is awesome, close to very good restaurants and the night market thingy is alive every night… there was a man there by the H&M, making models of pets for photos on your phone … they are awesome…"
"Very good hotel. Clean, neat and excellent service. Room wasn't big but we knew that and it was good enough. Close to everything in Ximen yet on a less busy street so less noisy. One thing though is that our room did have a window as described when booking, but this window was just a window to the hotel corridor and 1 even smaller window looking at some kind of inside dark hallway. So don't expect a window where you can see daylight."
"This is my second time staying at this hotel. Although the hotel facilities are not very new, it always makes people feel at home. The overall feeling is warm and cozy. The location is also very convenient. There are also restaurants nearby. The online customer service responds very quickly. I will stay here again if I have the chance☺️"

AAnonymous UserAbsolutely excellent staff, and a lovely hotel in Beitou. However the rooms are starting to show its age as it opened in 2010 - e.g. I observed some stains on the doors in my room. Conveniently located in the touristy part of Beitou, near the library and steps away from a 7-Eleven if you need anything at night.

GGuest UserPerfect choice ever for choosing this stay for our first TW trip ! The service, environment, view, and atmosphere here are top-tier :) small recommendation to have smart toilet bowl / bidet for every room so it could accommodate to travelers from different countries. 好喜欢这里的服务,环境和景色。第一次来台湾能住这里让我们都留下好印象。希望下次再来每间房间都有免治马桶。非常喜欢酒店提供的身体乳和沐浴露的香味。
WWangyanThe rooms were clean and quite spacious, with plenty of bottled water provided. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is conveniently located near Zhongshan Metro Station, and the Wi-Fi connection was also quite fast.

JJO.DSOverall a pleasant stay. Staff are polite and pleasant, the dried tomatoes at L5 is good. 😊 only hair dryer, handwash, body wash and 2in1 shampoo/conditioner provided in room so be sure so bring your other toiletries if you need!
Pros 😊
- fuss free check in (room was ready ahead of check in time so recep let us in)
- water dispenser avail (don’t have to buy your water) and 2 bottles in room daily
- small area at L5 for you to relax at with some snacks and drinks (great if you’re having a late flight and need somewhere to rest after checking out, or if you arrive early before check in)
- easy walk to xmd
- bus stop outside with buses that gets you to most places
Cons 😞
- poor sound proofing (can hear kids running down the rooms, people chatting outside, opening/closing of doors)
- room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this!
- very basic room amenities.
- slightly steep price given how basic and no-frills this hotel is.

PPyayiWhen I go to Taipei, I always stay at this hotel. The location is very strategic, the staff is friendly, and the facilities meet the needs of solo travelers.

AAnonymous UserWe stayed at City Suites Main Station Taipei and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is a bit of a walk from Taipei Main Station MRT (Exit Y21 to Y1), so we recommend taking Beimen MRT instead — it’s much nearer if you walk underground from Exit Y21 to Y28.
Our first room had an aircon leaking issue, but the staff were very responsive. After we contacted them through Trip.com, they quickly arranged a room change with no fuss.
The room itself was clean, modern, and comfortable. There are also 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience stores just around the corner, which made things even more convenient.
A solid choice for a short stay in Taipei!

KKerysVery local to the main metro station and popular night markets. Lots of convenience stores around. Room was clean and a decent size (double room). Our room had universals sockets which was also nice. Our room wasn’t cleaned or replenished whilst we were there (3nights), some fresh towels/water would’ve been nice but regardless was still a nice hotel and had laundry facilities at an extra cost (1 washing machine).
We did have a window that opened but the view was just off a worn building as seen in the picture.
Overall a decent stay :)

CcalingThe room has a bathtub and is clean! There is a hair dryer, but you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.
Good location, 3-8 minutes walk by bus or MRT
Breakfast is simple but tastes OK❤️
The only drawback is probably that the pillow becomes flat after sleeping.
There is a small street selling food on Shuangcheng Street behind me. I stayed here for 2 nights.
We all went to eat different delicacies from different stalls, including pig's knuckle rice, fried rice, dry noodles, mixed soup, sweet soup, chicken cakes, and pot noodles. They were all great. No pitfalls.
