Taipei Hostels

This was my third stay with this brand and second time at this particular branch. Overall, I'm very satisfied. It offers great value for money and the location is excellent. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of a laundry room, but everything else was perfect.

A small and basic but very convenient hotel in the heart of the Songshan District, within a short (10 min) walk from the Nanjing-Fuxing Station. It's a bit dated, but everything works, so why fix what's not broken. Rooms are small but reasonable size. The rates were the most reasonable in the area for the March-April high season 2026 (I stay in central Taipei quite often and know the range). The staff are very friendly and helpful, some speak English. IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTED: During my stay my room didn't have sufficient power outlets, there was no desk outlet for the laptop, the bedside power outlet was occupied by the night light. Adding a couple of outlets would make the stay more convenient. Aside from this I wouldn't change anything at this hotel, please keep it as is, and maintain the reasonable rates.

Location is convenient to Taipei Main Station. Room is clean, and with nice breakfast. Definitely will recommend to friends looking for a good place to stay. Thanks Main Inn 👍🏻

This hotel checks off all the boxes for me. I booked 3 nights from South Korea and ended up staying for five. From the friendly,  helpful staff, super cleaning staff, to the coffee machine, cold drinks & snacks in the lobby. And they served me a boxed breakfast in the lobby every morning. It’s a five minute walk to the train station and a 6 minute walk to the awesome night market! The 7/11 is 3 minutes away and the river trail at Rainbow Bridge is 10 minutes away for a beautiful walk, run or bike ride! The number one attraction, Taipei 101 is a 5 minute Uber ride away, which I woke up to every morning as my widow view in my big comfortable room. And the other big bonus for me was the 1001 Nights Restaurant right around the corner for a huge buffet of incredible Indian food and wonderful staff! I have been travelling in Asia for 3 months now and this was the best value hotel I have had so far! Thank you:)

Excellent location, walking distance from Taipei Main Station, many departures from Taipei Post Office bus station next street. I like the staircase design of double-decker bed, there is bathroom and a sink inside the room, apart from the hallway ones. The building is old, however, a few stair steps before reaching the lift. Water dispenser is only located on 2/F but lack on 6/F. Lots of food choices downstairs. Room price was the cheapest I could find. 

A Serious Failure in Management and Guest Service I have never experienced this level of poor service and lack of management oversight at a hotel. Throughout my stay, I had to repeatedly request housekeeping, yet my room was still not cleaned as expected. More seriously, there was even an occasion when I needed to use the bathroom and discovered that there was no toilet paper available. I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the front desk. However, despite making a formal complaint, the exact same problem occurred again the following day. At that point, this could no longer reasonably be considered a simple oversight or an isolated housekeeping mistake. The hotel had already been made aware of the problem, yet nothing appeared to have been done to prevent it from happening again. The most disappointing part is that these issues continued until the day I checked out. After repeatedly reporting the same problems without seeing any meaningful improvement, I eventually stopped complaining simply because I no longer believed that doing so would make any difference. A hotel may occasionally make a mistake — that is understandable. What is unacceptable is failing to correct a problem after a guest has already brought it to management's attention. This reflects a serious breakdown in communication between departments, inadequate supervision, and a lack of accountability at the management level. Basic housekeeping and essential bathroom supplies are not unreasonable requests. They are fundamental standards that guests should be able to expect without having to repeatedly chase the hotel for them. What concerns me most is that the hotel appeared to have multiple opportunities to correct the situation, yet failed to do so. This suggests that the issue is not simply with an individual staff member, but with the way the hotel’s service operations are being managed and supervised. This experience seriously damaged my trust in the hotel and left me with a very negative impression of its overall management and service standards. A hotel’s reputation is built on how it treats guests, especially when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, in this case, the hotel failed not only to deliver basic service, but also to respond effectively when those failures were brought to its attention. I sincerely hope management does not dismiss this as a minor housekeeping issue. The repeated nature of these problems, combined with the lack of effective follow-up, represents a significant management failure and can seriously damage guest trust, customer satisfaction, and ultimately the hotel’s reputation. For me, the most disappointing part was not that a mistake happened. It was that the hotel was given multiple opportunities to fix it — and chose not to.

The building is quite old, and the facilities are outdated. The room's ceiling is full of patched water stains! The hallway smells, and the corners of the walls are scarred. Breakfast is just average, though the location is very convenient. At over 500 [currency unit], it doesn't feel worth it, and late check-out isn't allowed without an extra charge!

The hotel is conveniently located opposite Taipei Main Station, making transportation very easy, and there are many dining options nearby. However, the room was really small, with hardly enough space for two people to move around. On the bright side, the staff were very friendly and cleaned the room and changed towels daily. It's a convenient choice for business travelers.

The biggest highlight of Meworld Hotel is definitely its convenient location—super easy to get around from here. I also really appreciated the water dispenser next to the lobby area, which was a nice and practical touch. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The lobby itself is quite small, and the check-in policy is very rigid. Official check-in is strictly at 4:00 PM, and staff were unable to process registration earlier in the day to hand over room cards later. It would make a huge difference if they could complete pre-registration early so guests can just grab their keys and head up at 4:00 PM. Lastly, adding a key card drop-off box for check-out would speed up departure significantly during busy morning hours.

I was looking for a hotel in the Zhongshan Elementary School area, so I chose this one because it had twin beds and a bathtub. It's close to both Minquan West Road and Zhongshan Elementary School. The room size was good, and the windows were large; it was perfectly sufficient for just sleeping. There was a luggage scale at the entrance.
