Romantic Hotels in Taipei

"On my last day of travel, I had a layover in Taipei and decided to stay at the Ximen Hotel again. It was as consistently good as ever, providing a pleasant stay. Service: The service was excellent. They offered luggage storage, contacted me via message before check-in, and the front desk even helped me receive a package. The service attitude was very good. Cleanliness: The hygiene was impeccable, very clean and tidy. The room was cleaned daily. Facilities: The hotel is a bit old, and some facilities are a bit dated, but they are all very comprehensive. If you need disposable toiletries, you have to purchase them at the front desk. Drinking water is provided in the room, but you need to bring your own soap. The single room was a bit small, making it a little hard to move around."

"Hotel is okay. Near Ximending and MRT stations. What I dont like about was their service. I emailed in advance that I will be arriving in the hotel by midnight so I booked a day in advance. They said okay. But when I arrived, hotel is closed. No one at the reception. I called them but no answer. Imagine I waited 5hrs outside. Frustrating."

"Do not reserve a handicapped room.  The bathroom has no shower curtain and shower water puddles the entire bathroom floor.  That is because the floor is not leveled and the water doesn’t go down the drain hole.  We requested a different room and had to pay extra for a regular “upgrade”  room even though the handicapped room definitely has a water problem and is not our fault.  Warning:  It is very dangerous for a handicapped person to stay in that room.   Pros:  coffee, tea, bottled water, canned soda, and snacks are provided free of charge everyday."

"Hotel room is comfortable with a mini hot spring facility. Hotel service is good and the breakfast is also considered decent. Public hot spring service is also complimentary with the hotel stay. Location wise is good for us as it’s one of the resort nearest to New Beitou train station."

"In the heart of XMD (exit 6). A basic capsule hotel. Common toilet and shower. For ladies there are 3 toilets and 4 showers so need to time your baths and hygienes. Only towel provided. Water can get yours refilled at the help desk. There is disposable cups too.other amenities like toothbrush shampoo pads etc can be purchased at the desk. Need to return key everytime you head out and collect when you return from 24/7 helpdesk. No eating in room, however there is small communal dining area to have your food. If you have problem with Uber eats / food panda can either go around small shops nearby to eat or during breakfast time can order breakfast delivery/pickup via LINE with their neighbour {black /white}. Yummy toast."

"The location is very convenient with the Simen MRT just a short walk away. It's good if one plans to use the MRT frequently. It's easy to walk around the whole Simending area from the hotel. Did not try any food at the hotel as one is spoilt for choice in terms of food from the Ximending area. The air-conditioner was not working properly from the first day, as it was very warm and couldn't be adjusted. Called for someone to take a look and was told they would come immediately. Waited but no one came. Called again and was told they would come by later. We were going out and they reassured us that their service staff would come by accompanied by another staff. Shortly after the call, the service staff arrived, unaccompanied. It was just as well we had not left. The room is big but the design has not been well thought out. The sink is located outside the bathroom. Its design (low sink) and mirror behind means, when one uses it to wash face etc water is splashed around and the floor gets wet. However, the hotel does not provide any more towels other than those given so one has to move the floor towel(mat) between the bathroom and the sink outside. The lighting system is also not very convenient. We had 2 double beds but there was no way to control the lighting so that if one party wanted to sleep, the other party could read. The TV system (with the box hidden behind the TV itself) frequently had signal issues. It was common to be unable to change the channel or the signage No signal would appear frequently either early in the morning or late at night. We also had a bathroom where the floor just in front of the WC had a slight damage in the form of a black patch which however looked very unsightly. It would have been good if the hotel had done something to make it look better as it left a poor impression. We had requested for a quiet room. Unfortunately, almost every night/morning there were people talking loudly or kids shouting. Overall, if one does not plan to spend time in the bathroom, it would be a good choice just for the location and convenience."
