Facilities: As it's a relatively new hotel, all the facilities are very new and clean. The only downside is that the shower door's waterproof strip was faulty, so every time I showered, water leaked out and wet the bathroom floor. I had to use many towels to soak up the water, which is unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be high-end; such a small detail should not be an issue.
Hygiene: As mentioned, the hygiene was excellent, which is expected from a new hotel. The housekeeping staff did an acceptable job.
Ambiance: I particularly loved the decor; it's simple yet luxurious, modern yet refined, showing a great sense of style.
Service: As an experienced traveler, I believe the service doesn't match a hotel that claims to be the top luxury hotel in Taipei. While the local Taiwanese staff are professional with their smiles and greetings, there's no warmth. You feel a coldness behind their smiles and enthusiasm.
Dining: Overall, the dining was quite disappointing. They have a lounge, which functions like an executive lounge, but all the food was very ordinary. The drinks were excellent, but breakfast was also very average; the bread and food didn't live up to the hotel's luxurious decor. This was a major letdown. The breakfast and lounge food were far inferior to what you'd find at the Mandarin Oriental, which was quite disappointing.
Summary: I've stayed in many hotels in Taiwan, including the Mandarin Oriental, Hyatt, and W. From a luxury, value-for-money, and service perspective, Cappella should not be ranked as Taipei's number one luxury hotel, for the following reasons: While the hardware is excellent, some details are lacking. As I mentioned, the bathroom's waterproof strip, and there was also a strange smell in the room, possibly due to the new renovation. These details need improvement to truly be considered Taipei's top luxury hotel. More importantly, the service needs work. Overall, the hotel should further strengthen its staff training on service to ensure guests genuinely feel their service is warm and thoughtful, rather than just professional. Only then will it live up to its luxury status and price. If you ask me to recommend this hotel, I have reservations. Given its reputation and price, it's not worth recommending. Perhaps if the value for money were better, it might be worth a try.

I won't be showing my room; it wasn't stunning, but it embodied the quintessential Japanese simplicity and cleanliness, which was very comfortable. The housekeeping was also meticulously done every day. I absolutely loved the cigar lounge on the third floor; the staff there were very professional and even had some limited edition cigars. Since it's a hotel cigar lounge, the prices naturally weren't amazing, but considering the service and ambiance, enjoying a cigar there was a real treat. I also heard that the beef noodles on the first floor are quite famous online, and they were indeed good. All in all, it's worth staying again, and the location is excellent.

Guest UserI personally found this place to be fantastic! The service attitude was top-notch, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. The rooftop pool was also a major plus – perfect for some great photos.

Guest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage
Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.
Thank you for your attention.

Adonis_ToThe hotel boasts an excellent location. Upon exiting Xinbeitou MRT station, it's immediately visible across the road to your left. The service was also top-notch. During check-in, I was offered a unique tea, and the process was completed swiftly. A staff member assisted me with my luggage to the room, explaining the hotel's facilities and complimentary activities along the way. During my stay, activities included an escape room, a 'night witch' tour, and a yoga class. The staff also informed me about the breakfast restaurant's location, explaining that some items are a one-time serve, while others are all-you-can-eat. They even recommended the ********* beef noodles. Once in the room, they thoroughly explained its features and offered helpful tips. The hotel's proximity to the library, Beitou Geothermal Valley, and the Hot Spring Museum makes it incredibly convenient. Highly recommended!

This trip exceeded all our expectations! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during check-in. When they learned it was our anniversary, they even upgraded us to a Maple Forest Room and surprised us with a lovely small cake in the evening, which made my wife very happy. The hot spring quality and facilities were top-notch. Although the water filter in the indoor water dispenser needed replacing, the staff quickly provided bottled mineral water. Overall, the minor flaw didn't detract from the experience. Highly recommended!

matto YI particularly enjoyed the hotel's close proximity to ximending and the MRT station, the cleaning service was excellent and the environment was clean. One thing is that the gym was a bit unmaintained and had rusty equipments, everything else was perfect other than that! I particularly liked the bathtub and the comfy beds. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to travellers who are looking for a comfy stay near the dazzling ximending!

AFormosaWe are long-time Taipei residents and now whole of Beitou area pretty well becuause we like hot sorings very much. Relaxing undisturbed atmosphere of this hotel is certainly big advantage. Its clean to perfection with minimalistic style of high-end japanese style onsen. i loved wooden floorings in the rooms , great hot spring bath with convenient hot spring water and mountain water taps so you can regulate the temperature you like. outside atmospheric is so amazing natural you wake up and feel yourself like somewhere deep in the jungle forgetting for sometime that you are close walking distance to Xinbeitou station. I walked around in the morning to Beitou Hot Spring Museum area, had wonderful breakfast with family and felt shiawase along every moment i stay there

Sweetme Hotspring Resort is a fantastic place to unwind and recharge. The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from Xinbeitou Station and conveniently close to many restaurants.
One of the highlights of the stay was the spa experience. Guests can enjoy both the private in-room hot spring and the public spa facilities. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Breakfast was another strong point, with a good selection of food to start the day right.
Overall, Sweetme Hotspring Resort delivers a well-rounded experience with great amenities, a prime location, and a relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely come back again.

yh.sgThe location of the Hotel isn't that convenient to go to, so it's recommend to look at their shuttle bus timing or simply book an Uber to ride up the hill.
Each room that you book also comes with a 1x free visit to the outdoor Spa facilities so I highly suggest you to bring a swim wear to go as it's pretty good even at night time.
As for the room it's spacious like other reviews photos have shown but not a lot of people have shown the bathroom/toilet so I'm including it here. It's a very spacious Toilet with the bathtub that has the Onsen water, and the shower head beside the bathtub.
