The hotel located just a few steps from the Anshandao Metro Station which is very convenient for me. The room is clean but the hotel have few facilities. As a traveler with limited Chinese, only a few staff can communicate in English but they have service minded. As my flight is early in the morning, I asked for the help to call taxi and packed breakfast. They have arranged them and found me a driver who understood basic English.

When we checked in, it was after noon, because the room was not ready, we proposed to go to the lounge or the executive lounge to rest, but there might be a wedding banquet in the hotel at that time, the lounge was full of chattering people, and there was no executive lounge. In the end, I only took two bottles of Nongfu Spring and was forced to go out and wait for the room to be ready. It may be located in a commercial building, and its lower floors are rented out for hotpot dining, as well as a swimming pool and spa open to the public. Residential guests and outsiders are not well distinguished, and the elevators are mixed. This hotel is in a GREAT location for tourists (near heaps of great restaurants and bars - scenic area and Heping Road shopping) or business travellers (I was attending a conference at the Meijiang conference centre) and has really lovely big modern rooms. The downsides - there is only 1 lift for all 10 floors (which are dispersed throughout 24 floors) of the hotel so the wait for the lift can be frustrating, also the reception staff struggled with the fact I had made 2 separate bookings (to separate work from personal travel) for the same room even though it was carefully explained in Chinese and a note should have been recorded against the room - instead it meant my room wasn’t serviced properly on my last full day and also my room keycard was deactivated. The irritations aside, this is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and I would stay here again as the rooms really are so nice.

In the past two days, I went to Tianjin for a trip and chose The Westin Tianjin Hotel. The experience was very good. The senior members within the group are also well taken care of at Westin. Especially the lobby manager, Angel, who was very patient with the elderly, left a deep impression. I hope to have the chance to visit Westin again.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room is almost double the normal Ibis room (eg in Lindon, Korea, or Sydney). Location is just behind the Snack street, so lots of interesting stuff to eat. Infront is the Han river and you can walk along it towards the Eye of Tianjin.. I would give it 5 stars for an Ibis.
