Hotels in Wanda Plaza/Tangdao 637, Xining

This stay truly understands families with children! The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right in the city center. Shopping and dining are right at your doorstep, so there's no need to waste time traveling. The room has a full cartoon theme, with adorable cartoon stickers on the walls and even animal-shaped throw pillows. My child was so excited they started jumping as soon as we entered the room, no need to even try to entertain them. The most pleasant surprise was the window view. Opening the window, you can see the bustling city center streetscape. During the day, you watch the traffic flow, and at night, the city lights sparkle. Every photo taken is beautiful. Plus, we were given fresh welcome fruits upon check-in, along with authentic Qinghai yogurt – sour, sweet, and refreshing. The attention to detail is just incredible. Staying here with kids is totally worth it!

The front desk service attitude is good, there is a treasure box that is very convenient to use, free water in the room is very considerate, the room is very clean, the service is very good, the front desk lady is very enthusiastic

I will start off by saying that the room and bathroom were well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. However, whilst the room was generally clean, when I dropped something that subsequently rolled under a fitted unit, I was pretty disgusted to see the dust and filth beneath it. It clearly had not been cleaned for…well…ever? I appreciate that these areas will not be as clean as the more visible parts of the room, however for a five star hotel, this is unacceptable. I do not expect to find dirty tissues and a thick layer of dust and dirt anywhere in my hotel room. But by far the absolute worst part of my stay was the inability to control the temperature in the room whatsoever. The room was so swelteringly hot that despite the comfortable bed, and everything to go with it, I was almost unable to sleep at all. I do not expect this in a five star hotel(and have never experienced it other than here and at anther Wanda hotel in Hohhot), I pay for luxury; controlling the room temperature is a basic requirement that I can even do in a 50 yuan a night hostel dorm. When I asked the staff at reception the following morning I was told the AC wouldn’t be available until after April 15th because ‘it’s cold outside’. Firstly, I am not sleeping outside, I am sleeping inside, on the 22nd floor, where it is anything but cold. Not to mention it was April, not January, even in Xining it is not that cold. Secondly, as a paying guest, in a five star hotel, it should be up to me to decide if it is hot or cold, not the hotel. For this reason, as lovely as the room, staff and breakfast may have been, I would not stay here again. I checked out and moved to the lower rated Hilton, where I could control the room temperature and actually managed to sleep…generally what the whole point of a hotel is.

We started our final China trip form Ürümqi followed by Turpin and Dunhuang. While our hotels there were reasonable, we felt really comfortable when we stayed at at a Club floor room at Sofitel Xining. Their service was one of the best we have experienced during our seven China trips so far. We enjoyed the comfort and the staff’s dedicated service. Thank you.

It's a very comfortable hotel with a great location. It's surrounded by a commercial street. It's very convenient for eating and shopping. You don't have to worry about being noisy. It's very quiet inside the hotel. The boss is super nice and the service is enthusiastic. He will introduce you to interesting places and delicious food😊I will stay here next time I bring my family over.

My friend recommended this hotel, and they were absolutely right! Not only is it very new, but the service is also excellent [strong]. It was a pleasant surprise! The rooms are spacious and all very new. The suites even have smart toilets, which is a great touch. I was a bit lazy and didn't want to go buy cigarettes, so I called the concierge, and a bellhop immediately brought them up to my room. The service couldn't have been better! The sleep-aid music in the room was fantastic; it was very comfortable to fall asleep to. The mall is also very close by, so having shopping, dining, and accommodation all in one place is really convenient, haha.

The separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are a great feature! As the saying goes, when it comes to hotels, new is always better than old, and this super new hotel made for a very comfortable stay. **Facilities**: No complaints, everything is well-maintained. The laundry room has LG smart washer-dryers, which are very convenient to use. **Cleanliness**: Full marks, especially for a place in the Northwest. **Environment**: Because it's new, it's excellent. **Service**: Extremely thoughtful. They called in advance to confirm my check-in preferences and arrange the room. There were welcome fruits and a welcome note, and the bottled water (Nongfu Spring) I took when checking out was perfectly chilled – very nice. There's also a commercial area nearby with plenty of options for takeout. All in all, it was a very satisfying stay.

It was my first time in Xining, Qinghai. I looked at many hotels and chose Mercure. It is very close to Wanda Plaza and Tangdao. There are many restaurants and snacks with Qinghai characteristics nearby. The front desk staff was enthusiastic. When I checked in, I upgraded the room for free and introduced us to fun places nearby. It was a very satisfying trip.

Pro points - The beds are soft and comfy, good showers with very hot water. Rooms were clean. The buses from outside connect well to the Muslim area of the city and the restaurants nearby are nice. Staff are friendly. Bad points - We booked a non smoking room, all the rooms available were infact non smoking and yet the whole place absolutely stank of cigarettes. We moved rooms because after dinner we came back to a haze of smoke in the room, everyone must be smoking. I live in China, I realise this isn't uncommon, but in that case don't advertise non smoking rooms.

The room is very clean and the facilities are basically sufficient. Due to the local climate, the hotel does not have air conditioning. The environment is not bad. It is located in the Wanda Business District, with convenient transportation and a wide view. I was honored to have my tire repaired in front of the hotel.
