Fancy name that's all. No one at the reception, this hostel feels dead. A hostel is a place of encounter, this is not what I found. The person who handed me the room card (had to call) was friendly, he even let me choose between two rooms. But none corresponded to my original booking (was supposed to have two beds) or was welcoming. There were only extremely small towels, I had to ask regular sized ones to the cleaning lady who happened to be around (had to insist as she had other priorities). Despite having big windows the rooms were quite dark. They were dusty and the walls and curtains had stains (there was even a luggage tag of a previous guest sticking on the curtain), I didn't dare to use the airco as it was covered with a layer of dust and I was afraid of fine particles dispersing everywhere. The wall paint was never finished. The bathroom really put me off as the current toilet has simply been put on top of a squatting toilet. Further, when you shower the water falls on the toilet seat. The mirror had stains but that was the least of my concerns at that point. There is no mosquito net, at night I got stung by mosquitoes. Overall, I really didn't feel comfortable in this place and would recommend you to look for something else. I don't understand why its overall rating is so high given the state of the place, on top of that the pricing was presented as a "discount", seriously?! There are other hostels in the city (of which I heard positive feedback) or for a little more money you can get a proper room in a hotel nearby. After one night I went to another place and it was a relief. Suggestion to the hotel: this place looks like its best days are behind, if you wish to revive it do a minimum of effort to renew the installations, starting with fresh paint and new curtains and a bottom-to-top cleaning. Make sure there is always someone at the reception. Make sure the reception is also clean and organized. Remove the current profile picture and replace it with something "real".
