Hotels in Candidasa, Bali

We booked a bungalow with a sea view. After seeing Google reviews mentioning ongoing renovations on the promenade and no beach access, we tried to cancel but were denied. When we arrived, they gave us a separate cottage. I asked, 'Where's the sea?' Apparently, if you open the door and step outside, you can see the sea. The room was completely dark. They eventually changed our room, and from that balcony, we could actually see the sea. The hotel is outdated, there were bad smells in the room, and the blanket is a story in itself. Breakfast was poor. The only positive thing about this hotel is the staff, who are always ready to help. Everything else is a disaster!!!!

Not a bad guesthouse for Europeans :) Grandmas and grandpas everywhere :) They probably feel comfortable in this area. Green territory, dirty pool, dirty towels. The rooms are good and spacious. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, instead we went to a wonderful French place 5 minutes away. I recommend it.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price. For dinner, you could choose one main dish from the menu and one of two dessert options. For breakfast, there was a choice of one dish from the menu and a mini buffet (greens, vegetables, fruits, bread, pastries, jam, butter, muesli, coffee, tea). The grounds are beautiful. The bed was large and luxurious with a comfortable mattress and pristine white linens. The hotel provided lemongrass-scented shower gel, shampoo, and body cream. A big thank you to the restaurant for their culinary masterpieces and presentation. The sea here is not suitable for swimming and is quite noisy at night. It took me the first night to get used to it as I'm a light sleeper, but my husband found the sound of the sea soothing. The pool was clean but the tiles are starting to show their age and need an update. Having a scooter, the location wasn't an issue for us. We rode down the road towards Amed (a 5-minute scooter ride). There were grocery stores, local clothing shops, and liquor stores. We had lunch at Meet u coffee & bar – highly recommend it.

Beautiful hotel, comfy bed, big room, wonderful pool. You get free water refills in glass bottles. Gorgeous sunsets, walkable to restaurants. 30 minutes to Virgin beach and 20 to Blue Lagoon, local taxis only. we went riding on beach at Horse Bali on bug bug beach! I stayed one night at Alila Manggis because I was catching a boat to Gili T from Padang Bai the next day. I actually felt a little emotional when I left. From the moment I got out of the car, I was incredibly well taken care of. The staff remembered my name and asked if I had a good day, not in a standardized way, but genuinely treating you as both a guest and a friend. The hotel's design really impressed me; the lines are clean and crisp, and the light and shadows transform magically from morning to night, making every photo a masterpiece. The Eggs Benedict for breakfast was perfectly cooked, and dinner was even more amazing. Both the fish and steak were delicious, and my child said the Margherita pizza was the best they'd ever had. Eating it while watching the sunset was like a beautiful painting. There isn't much to do in the surrounding area, so it's perfect for quietly relaxing at the hotel, reading, swimming, and enjoying the ocean views. If you're catching a boat from the pier the next day, Alila Manggis is an excellent choice.

Large clean comfortable room in a lovely garden setting. Breakfast excellent with usual choices … muesli particularly good as was the veg omelette. Pool sparkling, staff friendly and aim to please to make stay a pleasant one. Exceeded expectations. The work at the beachfront isn’t too bad … adds a bit of interest and can still go swim in the ocean. Friendly boatmen if you want a trip somewhere. Only concern was not much shade at the pool chairs. Easy walking to other bars, restaurants, shops & salons.

For what you pay for, this place is a GEM! The windows in the room are a little inconvenient but they do add to the ambience. The rooms are spacious and the location is great for cycling and adventure. I enjoyed breakfast, especially as it was made with love. The resort is right on the beach. the location is wonderful for families that want to get away from the city and want something more rustic.

Fantastic place! Room has Beautiful view of Hills ! Manicure colourful gardens! Nicer Fish in ponds! Sea view ! Crystal clear pool water! Great food! Very friendly staff! Absolutely beautiful place!! Well meaner guests! 🍷

Kids Club, 2 words that in any Hotel search will have me feverishly swiping next! Thankfully not an option at Hotel Genggong. What you do get is a well maintained property with clean, comfortable rooms. To be fair the rooms are starting to show their age a little, but also to be fair, so am I. Genggong is what is popularly described as a boutique Hotel. 16 rooms in total, 9 rooms in 1 block, 6 rooms in another and 1 self contained room. We stayed in a Superior Garden Room ( ground floor of block of 6 ) We had a small terrace, in front of which was a lovely little garden, then a good sized lawn led to a sea wall and the ocean. Nusa Penida and Lembongan Islands could be seen in the distance. With just a small number of guests able to be accommodated, a breakfast buffet would not make economic sense so breakfast is ordered off a set menu and was an adequate way to start the day. Walking to town is an easy option but returning at night may be best done in a vehicle. Prior to leaving Australia I arranged all our day trips with Ayu from Candidasa Transport, but I am sure the Hotel can help with local taxis if asked.All staff were lovely and we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Genggong immensely!.

Hospitality on a top level ! It's pity the construction isn't finished yet. But the staff is very polite and helpful with all our requests!
