Pros: 1. Surrounded by caves and birds chipping, this hotel gives a sense of tranquility and escapes from the city noise, yet it is only 10-15mins distance to ipoh city where u can easily access to any food. 2. Rooms are limited so there is not crowded, we enjoy the privacy and the silentness all day long. They play some zen music through public speaker also Rooms for improvement: 1. They provided bicycle but many of them are not well maintained. 2. They provided free breakfast - we stayed 2 nights, first day we had nasi ayam kunyit (spicy chicken rice), it is tasty but quite heavy to eat that early. luckily we able to have western breakfast on second day. i think they should provide options for us ;) oh another thing is, they will knock the door to inform โbreakfast is hereโ at 8am, so do expect this free alarm clock also Overall, it is still recommend to come here for a short getaway.

The Rocky Farm is very unique, was surrounded by tall and great cliff, and have few pond in the farm.
The farm is far from city, its quiet and can hear the birds and insects chirping.
The scenery and experience is good and relaxing, and the owner is very kind and helpful.

The overall feeling is average, the price/performance ratio is a bit low. The room is very small, and two people can't stand at the same time when the suitcase is placed. The shower water is very small! When I went out, I asked the front desk to help clean up, but when I came back, I found that nothing had been done.

room and location was good. tv app channels cannot be watched. prior to the arrival, information to get the entry cards was received via whatsapp in advance. Also informed that we will reach at night, approx 10pm. However, upon arrival, wrong mailbox lock passcode was provided, unable to get prompt response from customer service on whatsapp calls and messages. Had to find other accessible numbers to contact others from IWH for help. After the over 30 mins' ordeal of trying to get the access cards (car park and apartment), couldn't find the parking lot number assigned for the unit on the informed carpark level. found out the CS has informed the wrong parking lot level and it is actually 1 level lower. hope the support can be better to avoid similar situations like this again.

Before checking in, the hotel sent us a guide in advance. The check-in rules stipulate that the mailbox pickup password and key box password will be sent before 3 pm. Check-in was relatively smooth, but there was no place to store luggage, so we had to wait with our luggage. I was not satisfied with the rooftop swimming pool. When I arrived at the hotel downstairs, I saw a notice saying that it was under maintenance. A large part of the reason for booking was that I saw this swimming pool. The treadmill in the gym was very old, there was no air conditioning in the gym, and the electric fan was not powered. It was basically useless... It was very hot and I couldn't stay there for a few minutes; the room facilities were quite warm, the table was fully equipped with dishes, knives, forks and spoons, and there were air conditioners and electric fans in each room; I was not satisfied with the shower in the bathroom. It was burned for a long time, but the bath water was still very warm, and it was even cold when washing hair. There was no toothbrush and toothpaste, and there was only an empty box for the hair dryer, but no hair dryer; the toilet was wiped several times with wet wipes, and it was black after wiping, and the hygiene and cleaning needs to be improved.

CCeciliaI have never felt so homely in a hotel. It has achieved its objective as per the name of the hotel. It's a super comfortable stay. We were so at peace in this hotel. We all rested well. The children had their space and we had ours. My husband loves the quiet surrounding. My children love the space design in the room. Each had their privacy. The wooden bathtub generated nice wood smell when filled up with warm water. The soak was comfortable and relaxing. The hotel staff provides good gentle service too. The spa saloon at MEEP level provides 5 stars service on facial and massage. We were impressed with such standard in Ipoh that can be on par with 5 stars hotel. We will surely come back again. The vegetarian food at the Ma Ma Kim restaurant was good too. We enjoyed our stay a lot. We will come back again when we visit our parents. Do up keep up the hotel environment and service. Good job!

GGuest Userwent here on early Feb 2023. I thought it was just a normal shop lot/budget hotel. However when i step in the lobby, i got shock with the interior & ambience, feels like in a 4 star hotel. The housekeeping staff name Hidayah really did a great job for do some room tour with us. she show us a few room type and explained every details & facilites in the hotel. the reception (Indian guy, cant remember his name) was very polite & helpful upon check in. This hotel has a live band every evening, free parking area for guest (but have to walk a bit), a nice and cozy restaurant & a small gym. the bed & pillow was so cozy, it has aircond & fan too! They provided USB charger as well in the room. The shower room was spacious and very clean. i would love to recomended this hotel to all if you all want to have a trip at IPOH!

GGuest UserStay here, don't look at the hotel facade,they have great rooms and very clean. The hotel is just 10 minutes flat walk from Ipoh train station, although it is in the residential area but all the intersting place are within walking distance such as Concubine lane just five minutes walk, the night market just five minutes walk, the memory lane was behind the hotel. The lobby is always locked and you feel secure. You need your keycard to access the lobby and lift. There are few sitting area in lobby but enough space. The second floor are breakfast area. The room was clean, and bright as there are lights everywhere. There is complimentary coffee and tea, fridge and safety box. The bathroom is quite big and the water power was strong with hot water run constantly. There is not place to eat surrounding the hotel area except KFC and Pizza Hut at the left side of hotel (2 minutes walk). If you walk across the street from the lobby into a small lane,you will reach a traditional kopitiam that have plenty of choice to eat,they start at 6 morning until night. The kopitiam has dim sum, seafood noodles, char kue tiau, popiah (night time). Minimarket 7 Eleven just beside the hotel. Considering the affordable price and very centrally located, this hotel is the best option to stay in Ipoh.

GGuest UserThe look and feel of Sarang Paloh is lovely. It has an old world style which we loved. The location is also great, ten minutes from the station and close to lots of restaurants and spots in the old town.
The room has a nice style to it as does the garden you walk through. The room facilities were lacking, with no fridge and no safe which we would expect at this price point. Hot water in the shower doesnโt last long and they provide a 3 in 1 body wash, shampoo and conditioner, again something we wouldnโt expect at this price point. The hotel also doesnโt offer room cleaning. This may have been because we stayed for two nights only but this is not communicated on the website or at check in. This meant used cups or water bottles arenโt cleared nor is the rubbish bin emptied. We were also not made aware of locally available discounts for staying at the hotel.
All in all an ok stay but several small things made this not value for the money we paid.

GGuest UserLocation of hotel is ok and not noisy caused by public strangers as there is no restaurant or other shop lots nearby. Ample of parking space very good. Receptionists are polite. They have hot&cold water dispenser in the pantry.
Came to my surprise that this hotel lobby and parking is at a higher floor so my room is at lower floor, perhaps lone traveller may be worried when they first came here huhu.
Room toilet is spacious, water flow very strong. Except they donโt provide tooth brushing kit and hairdryer.
Just wanted to comment on the dim lighting from staircase to alley to room. One of the ceiling light from my room is not working when I checked in, feedback to receptionist and they are so kind to bring a new one but by that time the light suddenly turned on so I rejected them to change for me.
The room door lock is broken, maybe owner can fix it ?
Suitable for short stay. If you expect a luxury stay maybe this is not your choice.

GGuest UserThe purpose of this review aims to provide a true & fair view for all the travelers who are interested in booking with BELAKANG KONG HENG. I hope the management can take this feedback into serious consideration & take any necessary actions. We have arrived at 9.20pm & aware that it has way past the check-in hour. There was no one was at the counter to attend to us the moment we arrived. So we made a call to ask for help. The staff, Andy picked up the call & started to rant about our late arrival as if weโve committed a very serious mistake & thereโs no solution to it. We couldnโt help as the traffic was terrible & we were really tired after the long drive so we asked for solution. The next moment he instructed us to go to the mailbox right next to the gate to get our room keys. I mean he could have just skip the ranting & blaming part & tell us straight that the key is just right at the mailbox. Understand that it has way past the check-in hour & the staff might be off duty, however this is not the service that I expect from a so called 5-star hotel customer service. Since the roomโs soundproofing is bad, we were given another chance to overhear how Andy takes his customer service skills to the next level in the next morning. He was ranting about our late check-in & request for hair dryer at late night (oh ya forgot to mention that the room doesnโt come with hair dryer & only one bottle of universal shampoo or cleanser whatever you call that to clean your entire body or maybe even the toilet bowl also) in a very frustrated & rude manner. FYI, we did request for hair dryer from Andy but he said the counter has closed & no hair dryer & hung up the call. So we gotta go around to see if thereโs any staff around to ask for it. Luckily there was an abang cleaning the room & gave us one from one of the rooms. We overheard & just kept quiet as we were still getting ready to check out in the room. We confronted him at the counter when we check out & Andy truly amazed us when he defended himself by saying he was just talking to his staff & he doesnโt think thereโs any problems with being rude. Nevertheless, the hotel is undoubtedly stylish & comfortable in the sense that it truly provides an industrial-chic design with preservation of old building located at the heart of ipoh town surrounded by plenty of eateries & points of attraction. But the customer service, particularly this guy called ANDY, sorry I will never come back again as I donโt expect to pay so much in return for such hospitality.

NNurasyikin ZI stayed at the Premier room (2 King beds). Everything looked okay at first, cleaned and spacious. Room was enough to fit 4 adults and 2 small kids at one time. But when i tried to use the tap and shower in the toilet, looks like the heater was not functioned. When i tried to use the standing shower, it got burst immediately and the tube spout connecting to the tap fell off. I had to use the shower near the bathtub instead. Then when my husband tried to use the electric kettle, boom, all power off due to power trip. We called up the reception and they sent a technician immediately, he was surprised to know that the wiring was not done correctly, and was not safe at all. Knowing that the wiring and shower work will take some time, and we couldn't be moved to another room due to unavailability. We had no choice but to leave the room because 1. my baby needs hot water for his milk, 2. we havent had dinner. We headed back to hotel right after dinner, and thank god they managed to complete all the work. Shower and wiring were fixed accordingly and the heater finally worked. Breakfast? The Chinese fried rice was very plain in taste. Even my 2 year old baby refused to eat it. Same goes to the rice porridge- tasteless. Fried meehoon was okay. I'd rather have a simple selection of tasty breakfast, rather than having a variety of food but tasteless. The only credits i would vie was to the front desk officer and technician. butI'm not recommending this hotel, avoid if you may.
