The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the city center, making it easy to get to both the ancient city and commercial areas. Parking was also convenient for those arriving by car. Great value for money! The rooms were clean and tidy, with a good separation of wet and dry areas. The soundproofing was also decent. The butler was warm and patient, always ready to answer any questions, which definitely enhanced our positive impression of Datong.

The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the ancient city. For dining: Xi Jin Dao is downstairs, Fenglin Pavilion is a 10-minute walk, and Long Juxiang offers delivery directly to your phone. Every time we took a taxi back to the inn, we'd get off at Huayan Hotel and walk two minutes. The popular Heshengcai is a 10-minute walk (though the taste was just so-so, and none of the pastries even had an ingredient list). For sights: Huayan Temple is a 5-minute walk. I visited Shanhua Temple at night, which was about a 15-minute walk. During the May Day holiday, there were only about 10 people in the entire temple at night, so we could enjoy a peaceful visit. On the way back and forth, we also saw the city wall's light show and passed through a lantern festival. Rumeng Datong (Dreams of Datong) was also within walking distance. Service was great too. On our last day, we had to leave for the train station at 7:30 AM, and the owner even packed breakfast for us. The lamb offal soup with vermicelli every morning was delicious. The furniture is all elm wood. The loft family room was perfect for our family of three. The only downsides were that the room rate was expensive during May Day, and the bathroom design was a bit impractical.

The room was great, on the 21st floor, directly facing Yongtai Gate, offering a good view of the ancient city's layout. They also provided 4 bottles of high-quality spring water in the room. Breakfast was rich, including Cantonese options. On the day we left, we asked the front desk for a late check-out until 3 PM, and they agreed. Even though it's an older five-star hotel, it still maintains its quality. Very good. And it's convenient to get to the ancient city.

I visited Datong this week and stayed at the Meijing Heyang Hotel. From the outside, the hotel looks unremarkable, but after checking in, there were many highlights that impressed me: The service was attentive and thoughtful, and the staff were warm and patient with guests. The lobby always had several types of tea available, and in addition to standard toiletries, the room also provided laundry detergent, skincare products, and hand cream. It's clear they pay great attention to detail for their guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were clean, and housekeeping was prompt and thorough. The facilities were well-arranged, making for a very comfortable stay. Furthermore, I noticed over these past few days that the hotel was almost fully booked every day, which speaks volumes about its mature operations and professional, dedicated staff. The only minor drawback was that the bathroom vanity was a bit too low, making it slightly inconvenient for washing up. If it could be raised a bit in the future, the stay would be even more perfect.

It's about 2-3 kilometers from the ancient city, which is a comfortable bike ride away. The hotel also has slow-charging stations, so if you're driving, you can charge your car overnight. We just went directly into the ancient city for meals. Service: The service attitude was very good.

During my stay, I often saw what seemed to be the manager discussing various issues with the front desk in the lobby, which shows they're genuinely dedicated to running a good hotel. The cleaning staff were also very enthusiastic. The hotel's location is convenient; it's about a ten-minute walk to the old city, and there's plenty of free parking. The breakfast, in particular, was comprehensive and delicious. My only minor critique is about the design of the three-room courtyard suite: why isn't one of the rooms a family room? When booking a courtyard suite, it's usually for a family trip, and most families have children. Having two 1.8m beds and one standard room for a family with kids is indeed a bit cramped.

The front desk attendant was incredibly warm and helpful; she brought ice packs for my wife's sprained ankle and even lent us a charging cable. The guesthouse is conveniently located directly across from the old town city wall entrance, where you can climb up for free to enjoy panoramic views of the ancient city.
