Nice and clean! Food was amazing. Do get dinner along with the package!

We were greeted by hotel staff upon arrival. We were not given the option to select dinner time, which was set at 8pm which was late when compared with counterparts. We were only given the option to change to 5pm on the subsequent night, which was not convenient for us. The arrangement for who gets to be seated with the forest view or not is unknown and strange. On the first night we were seated at a room without a view, which was stuffy and adjacent tables full of uncleared dishes which give rise to an unpleasant odour. The other customers sitting in the room was served food all at once encompassing shabu shabu, while sashimi bowl was offered as a buffet. We were offered a forest view on the second night. Food was served according to courses, which was average and sashimi offered was similar to what was offered in the buffet though in large pieces. Breakfast was better with Japanese and western foods available. Rooms and onsens were nice. Recommend only choose the room only option as food was really not up to standard when compared to other Japanese counterparts.

The Japanese style room is so spacious and user-friendly. Looking out from the room, the treeline is so Zen. You can get free ice creams from the lobby, as well as tea, beer and coffee. Excellent services.

Nice hotel with great breakfast provided. Onsen was good and there was also foot baths provided at hotel lobby. Shuttle bus provided as well

Very satisfying with lots of freebies ( free ice-cream from 2pm to 11pm to choose from, free coffee n GREAT ENVIRONMENT. It is MOST recommended Onsen Hotel.

Not I expected I paid this value, balancy blind was damaged no fixed for the guest but price was high..

The overall onsen experience is awesome and stay is very satisfactory. The buffet breakfast is superb with both Japanese and western style, I would recommend to book the stay with meals both dinner and breakfast to make your stay less hassle - majority restaurants close early and you do not want to spend time on transportation. Afterall, Hakone is meant to be a relaxing and slower pace destination. I would recommend at least a two night stay.

Impressed by the infinity pool design of outdoor onsen on 6/F. Can watch sunrise with stunning view. Need to confirm if can go in for the morning during your stay as they switch gender for every day. It’s not a problem if you are staying for two nights. Food is nice and breakfast buffet has wide variety of dishes. Free shuttle bus is available to Garo station every 30mins.

This is one of the best hot spring hotels in Hakone.

Overall, I had a great experience with Hakone Kowakien Ten-Yu, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to celebrate an anniversary weekend
