What's it like to be a ”castle owner” for a night? The Sun Island Castle Hotel, located on the scenic banks of the Songhua River, boasts a charming European architectural style. The first floor is home to various small eateries, while the entire second floor is dedicated to the hotel guest rooms. From the third floor, you can directly access the cross-river cable car, and the fourth floor houses the Chocolate Castle Museum. This museum features an incredibly diverse collection of chocolates, and outside, there's an observation deck – a superb spot to admire the Songhua River's night view. The hotel's location is excellent, offering incredibly convenient transportation. Besides the cable car, you can also take a cruise ship across the river. The sightseeing bus also stops here, making it easy to visit all the attractions on Sun Island, with the freedom to hop on and off as you please. This time, I stayed in the most affordable ”Viscount Interior Room.” The room was spacious and well-equipped, with furnishings that truly captured the grand essence of a castle. The only minor drawback was the lack of a window, meaning I couldn't enjoy the natural scenery outside – a small regret. It's worth noting that, compared to the opulent guest rooms, the hotel's front desk seemed a bit understated. The small reception counter is tucked away in a corner on the first floor, which felt a little out of sync with the ”Chocolate Castle” theme. Personally, I suggest designing the front desk in the shape of chocolate and having the reception staff wear more distinctive attire. Wouldn't that better align with the magical theme of this place? Overall, this was a surprisingly delightful stay, highly recommended for those who appreciate unique hotels.

First off, the staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful – so attentive, thoughtful, and polite. They proactively helped me with my luggage, which I really appreciated. Secondly, the room was spotless, and all the facilities were impeccably maintained. The moment I walked in, there was a lovely fragrance. The bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the shower pressure was fantastic – honestly, the bathing experience was as good as any bathhouse in Harbin! The front desk even picked a room for me with a view of the Songhua River, which was another big plus. They also thoughtfully gifted me two breakfast vouchers, welcome fruit, and Harbin's famous White Pear beverage. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the strawberry cake was particularly delicious – I ended up eating six pieces! I'd also like to give a special shout-out to the cleaning lady on the 19th floor, who wears glasses; her service was excellent and very polite. I hope the hotel gives her a raise! Overall, for just over 500 RMB in Harbin, getting such great service at this hotel is truly amazing value for money. I highly recommend everyone visiting Harbin to stay here!

Extremely satisfied with my stay. The location is great, about a 30-minute drive from both the high-speed train station and the airport. **Ambiance:** The lobby, like other Mandarin Oriental hotels, is very grand and impressive. **Facilities:** The facilities are well-maintained, but it doesn't have smart home features throughout the room. **Cleanliness:** Overall, it was clean and tidy. **Service:** The service was excellent, very warm and attentive. Today was 'Lidong' (Beginning of Winter), and they even specially served dumplings for breakfast, which was a really thoughtful touch.

Yet, the hotel itself is very quiet, completely undisturbed by external noise, allowing for a great night's sleep. 🏨 Environment and Facilities: As soon as I entered the lobby, I was drawn in by the luxurious scent and elegant decor, feeling very comfortable and relaxed. Check-in at the front desk was highly efficient, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. My room was spacious and bright, with a beautiful city view from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Most importantly, it was impeccably clean! The bedding was crisp white and soft, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and there were no hidden dirty spots. For someone like me who's a bit of a clean freak, this was absolutely perfect! The in-room facilities were also new and smart, with strong air conditioning and super-fast Wi-Fi. 🛏️ Sleep Experience: I absolutely have to give a special shout-out to the mattress and pillows! They were just the right balance of soft and firm, with excellent support. Lying down felt like being enveloped in clouds, and I slept soundly until I woke up naturally. While the hotel is a bit older, it's fully equipped with amenities, and the cleanliness is well maintained. I noticed collision protection stickers on the table corners, which is a nice touch. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even provided complimentary breakfast every day. Room service robots deliver food and water quickly, so you don't have to wait long.

The biggest selling point of this hotel is definitely the 'sleeping with bears' experience. Our family room had a floor-to-ceiling window directly overlooking the polar bear enclosure. My kids were so excited, jumping around as soon as they woke up, watching the polar bears swim and paw at the glass. The restaurant also offered prime bear-viewing, so we could enjoy breakfast while watching the bears dive – a truly rare experience in China that created unforgettable memories. The location is unbeatable, right inside the polar park. We could walk straight to the polar aquarium downstairs and return to our room for a rest after the beluga show, which was incredibly convenient for families with children. The hotel is also within walking distance of Sun Island Station on Metro Line 2, making it easy to get to the Ice and Snow World or Central Street. Kid-friendly details were spot on, though some hardware choices were made. Kid-friendliness gets full marks: The room came with bunk beds for kids, a small toilet seat, and corner protectors. They even offered polar bear-themed craft classes and a night tour of the polar aquarium. The staff were very patient with the children.
