Stayed here for one night recently while in town for a marching band competition. The location is very convenient for getting to The Dome at America's Center and very convenient to get back on the expressway to head back to Illinois so the location is a plus. There is nothing particularly ”bad” about the hotel but it just is in need of updating. The rooms are very dated from the carpet to the doors to the furniture. The popcorn ceilings are the biggest indicator that things have not been updated in a long time. Beds are old and noisy. Hilton would be wise to start doing a hard goods refurbishment in each room and bring in fresh carpet, paint, furniture, and countertops. Having said that, the on-site parking was inexpensive and convenient and the breakfast area in the lower level of the hotel was the largest seating area I've seen at a Hilton property so that was nice. Update the rooms and this Hampton could be quite a gem.

It rained on the day we went, the rain stopped and there was a rainbow near the arch. It can be seen in the hotel room. The accommodation is good and the service is also very good. There are restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and side doors within 200 meters. Arches and the old court, you can take the subway in ten minutes, it is the subway, don't follow the Google map on the road lost ~ strongly recommend the sushi love on the main road, there is a 20-knife buffet, very good and delicious, right, Please bring your own slippers and toothbrush toothpaste. We needed a place to stay by the airport and this worked out great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The pillows were down, which was nice to sleep on. And of course, the cookies were deliciously gooey and warm! The front desk staff suggested picking up IMO’s pizza for dinner and it was yummy. Thanks! We would stay here again.

My husband and I spent the night here before a very early (5:30 am) flight the following morning. We are so glad that we did as we received a light coating of ice that night which would have made the trip from our house very treacherous. We found the room to be clean and spacious. Even though it was only a mile from the airport, it was very quiet. My grandson came in with me and the front desk offered him a candy bar which made him happy. I also swam in the heated pool which was at very comfortable temperature. The free shuttle runs 24 hours a day and we were able to get on the 4 am shuttle. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again!

GGuest User 2023.03.15
If this hotel is representative of what Marriott is doing with Westin's, the Westin brand is deteriorating. Plastic cups in the rooms like a Best Western. Quattro restaurant is poor; asked for glasses for wine and one glass was very dirty. Quattro delivered our dinner to the wrong room; when we got the dinner it was not what we ordered. Thermostat in room was 'dead'; if not fixed management would make us move everything to a different room at 8:30 pm. Maintenance found that when the filters were changed the thermostat was not turned on! And the guest had to discover the thermostat was not working. Westin still has comfortable beds. Fortunately the valet and front desk people were good--although the staffing is very thin until 7am when the nightshift ends! Do not recommend and will avoid Westins in the future.

GGuest User 2022.10.24
We stayed here over the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel and grounds are phenomenal. I highly suggest paying the couple dollars extra for valet parking- saves TONS of walking and time! The valet staff were very professional and accommodating. Upon arrival, (it was very late at night) we arrived and pulled up to the hotel- valet immediately came out and offered to assist; I asked for general hotel parking and was kindly directed toward the area- upon arrival to that area (not really close to the entrance- general parking lot is like $35/day)- we chose to return to front door valet for $40.... Parking is overall expensive. But, we were assisted in unloading our car and immediately taken to our reserved room. Hotel is very impressive, the lobby is beautiful- and the property is rich with history (former actual station); the room was nice, very clean, and quiet- despite the multiple wedding events occurring over the weekend. There are many restaurant and food service/delivery options available. The staff was the BEST! The grounds included hourly light shows over pier/Koi fish pond; Landry Seafood onsite, along with- Ferris wheel (my kids loved), putt-putt golf, small slide/park area... It was really a great experience to stay here. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and has multiple on-site entertainment options (along with an aquarium)- minutes SAFE walk to multiple major attractions. Bed was incredibly comfortable. We stayed long enough to need extra towels- I notified/requested the front desk for additional, and they were delivered to our room within 10 minutes. Upon arrival, we were unable to locate the TV remote- called the front desk and was immediately delivered a new remote for the TV. We did not have any major issues, but even our minor needs were met with utmost speed. I highly recommend this hotel for family and couples.

There is a supermarket next to the hotel, which makes life convenient. The bed in the twin room is narrow and not suitable for four people.

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. There is no available breakfast as advertised. There is no restaurant as advertised; there is a printed menu in the bar but it was not serving. One of the reasons I was staying was for the breakfast as part of my IHG rewards perks. I was promised points for the lack of breakfast but was not given any. Looking at past reviews, breakfast has been gone for a long time despite the advertisement of it. Additionally, the parking garage instruction email gave the incorrect parking garage, which cost me money to exit to park in the correct one. The access to the correct parking garage was confusing. An address is not even given, just turning instructions, and access is via a bank lobby. There was no upgrade or perk given to Diamond members. In fact, this was so blatantly disregarded that I have no idea why anyone would spend big with loyalty at IHG. I was not allowed late check out, even by 30 minutes. I’ve never had such lack of accommodation when I told them I might run late. In fact, the evening staff told me “check out at 12 would be fine, but confirm with the morning staff” and the morning staff didn’t allow a minute past 11. The front desk had a single person working it which caused long lines at the desk. I was not offered any solution or refund for their errant instructions on the parking garage. The phone in the room did not work. Overall, what should’ve been a relaxing stay ended up with chaos. I should’ve read more reviews before booking. I still never got any of the points promised for the lack of breakfast but I am done dealing with this nightmare hotel.

Outstanding
It should be unnecessary to praise what used to be normal expectations, but yet here we are. This hotel did not disappoint in any single way. Clean, freshly updated (or relatively new, I can't tell which). Staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious, well appointed, comfortable. The location is safe - isolated from really anything close by other than the clinic in the adjacent parking lot. Wish all hotels could be this on point and consistent with brand.

All my reviews use the same format, so it isn't just a general review, but breaks out each area and then a total score. Any questions, please let me know. This was a couples stay while attending the CITY SC match. ARRIVAL: My wife and I decided to give this property a go since it was close to CITY Park. Normally would Uber to and from our house but wanted to make a long day out of it. Hotel is easy to get to and the parking garage is located on the south side of the hotel adjacent to the CITY training pitch. CHECK-IN: Check-in was fairly quick. We did use points which made it a little confusing for some reason. The front desk staff seemed kind of annoyed until we decided to break the ice and share some back-and-forth banter with her. We received our room assignment proceeded to drop our bags to begin our afternoon of per-match fun. PROPERTY: A newer FBM property the layout aligns with the brand. Bar and common area for breakfast as well as a outdoor patio area with fire pits, and couches and chairs. Property seemed clean and secure with no way to get inside without a key. ROOM/ACCOMODATIONS: Our room was acceptable. FBM standard King. It was clean and nothing seemed out of place. A newer property there were no complaints. Mini fridge to house drinks, etc and a nice view towards Union Station looking over the training pitch for CITY SC. STAFF/SERVICE: Knowing that staff is a struggle in hospitality, the front desk was a little unwelcoming. We really didn’t interact with anyone outside of them but the bartender after the match really was NOT having a good night. Many loud patrons after a win by the boys in red across the street. Many patrons really doing their best to be as loud as possible. She was not happy and asked on repeat for them to keep it down or they would have to leave. FOOD:/BAR: Drinks were ok. Not amazing but on par with the brand. Breakfast was your average quick serve buffet with a host of items to pick from. We had a light meal and then departed. SUMMARY:. This property has a great location for those wanting a place to stay for CITY matches. Right across from the South End and with a safe parking facility we would try this one again. Rate without points would have been $129 which is a few dollars less than other higher start properties nearby. To compare, Union Station (Hilton) was $138. If we were paying, I would have opted for that property. Scoring: CHECK-IN: 7/10 PROPERTY: 8.0 ROOM: 8.0 STAFF/SERVICE: 6.0/10 FOOD/BAR: 6.0/10 OVERALL WEIGHTED: 7.10

GGuest UserThe hotel is warm and inviting with an updated decor, and friendly staff. The rooms are large and well-appointed, and the breakfast eating area is spacious with many people using it in the evening to play board games or to simply sit and talk. The breakfast is nicely stocked with a variety of food ranging from waffles, sausage and eggs to oatmeal, yogurt, and cold cereal. The location cannot be beat as it is within walking distance of the zoo, science museum, and planetarium. If you’re an avid walker or runner, I cannot think of a better place to walk or run than the Forest Park trails. The hotel is centrally located, which means you can easily access the downtown area for the Gateway Arch, Old Courthouse, Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey. You can easily reach the heart of South and North St Louis within 10 minutes, and Lambert International Airport within 20 minutes. In addition to the restaurant’s breakfast offerings, they hotel also sells food and drink items near the front desk. There is a restaurant next door to the hotel; a Jimmy Johns (JJ) within a two minute walk of the hotel, and a Comet coffee shop within a two minute walk of the hotel. There is an IMO’s pizza within a five minute walk of the hotel, and I saw a new restaurant being built within a five minute walk of the hotel in the opposite direction of the IMO’s. I will return to St Louis in August, and I’ve already booked another reservation at this hotel for the August trip. In the past, I’ve stayed at quite a few St. Louis hotels, and some were downtown or near the airport. This hotel is my new “go to” hotel when I visit St. Louis.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed both the hotel and the city. The food was fantastic, and the service exceeded my expectations. I also took a helicopter ride around the area, which was an unforgettable experience! The front desk team was exceptional—quick and efficient. A huge shoutout to Moe and Phil, who went above and beyond by recommending some great spots to visit and eat. I arrived by Uber this time, but next time I’ll definitely take advantage of their valet service. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe hotel was an experience that we enjoyed. The decor and staff was awesome. We enjoyed your courteous staff: Rodger, Kevin and Mike; along with a few others, who tended to our need. The breakfast was awesome the staff person who prepared the eggs knew how to cook them. The phone booth and guard at the front entrance was amazing you really felt like you were in London. We just had a taste of London which is on our list of things and places to go and try. The Cheshire is a hidden gem. Thanks for a lovely experience.

GGuest UserTwo of the main things I looked for when booking was a pool and free parking. The pool was indoors which was fine. Was surprised to see how small it was and was a big let down that it was so freezing we couldn’t enjoy it at all. So it was a let down that one of the main reasons I booked here we didn’t get to use the pool. This place does have newer furniture in its rooms but the floor throughout and the furniture it the lobby is just stained up and dingy. The signs on 1st floor for ice machine/vending are wrong. Asked a rude house keeper that was upset bc I guess I interrupted her cleaning. She had told me it was around the corner…. The out of order machine was on the other side of the building. I finally found me an ice machine on next floor. The people at the front desk are very nice and courteous. Really nice. But wish they had explained more on their parking so that I didn’t end up with a ticket each day I was there. So they have no free parking lots at the moment. You either have to park in their drop off zone are a section of street parking on the side. The other lots available you have to pay per day. Due to this I found a spot on the side (side street parking as they suggested) and I didn’t move my car. I kept it there the entire time and walked everywhere I needed to go. Well when I went to leave I had parking tickets racked up for several days. I went in and asked them if that was there parking as told previously and they said yes. I told them about the tickets and they said it was managed by the city and u have to back in or get a ticket. That would be nice to know when you offer that as a parking suggestion. I go out to lot to see if there was a sign. There was a sign many spots down that in the direction I was coming from wouldn’t have seen. I also looked all almost every vehicle was parked wrong way so obviously they weren’t told or didn’t see sign either. I started warning those I could. $30 a day ticket city it making a lot of money of that small parking section from out of towners etc that don’t know ST Louis parking laws …. The hotel won’t warn u of this and they know. Besides these couple things everything else was good.
