Hotels Near Shin Bridge in Kyoto

Very pleased with the level of care put into this hostel. All rooms are extremely clean, and the beds are comfortable and quiet. Despite the rooms holding up to around 15-20 people, it is extremely quiet and the bed pods are dark. Shower area was extremely clean and we were provided fresh towels every day. There is a comfortable sitting area with free coffee and access to Netflix. We had a very comfortable stay here and I would come back !

This hotel is located right near the intersection of Shijo Horikawa. I checked in at midnight, but the front desk was kind and I was able to respond without a disgusting face. The room was clean and the amenities were substantial, and there was a USB port for charging, which was very helpful. However, probably because it was a premise to use a large communal bath, there was only a shower booth in the room. It may be a negative for those who want to slowly soak in the bathtub in the room. Personally, I was happy with the large communal bath, so there was no problem at all. It was also good that the transportation was convenient. From the Shijo Horikawa bus stop, you can go not only to Kyoto Station, but also to famous tourist spots such as Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu-dera, Toji, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama, and you can go to Gion and downtown Kawaramachi without changing trains. You will need to change trains once, but you can also go to Nanzenji Temple and Ginkakuji Temple. If you walk a little, you will find Hankyu Omiya Station and Arashiden Shijo Omiya Station, and it is very accessible for sightseeing or business. There is a Family Mart just south of the hotel, and there are 7-Eleven ahead, so you don't have to worry about a little shopping. The accommodation fee was reasonable and it is a recommended hotel.

The location of hotel is in a walking distance from Kyoto Station. It is not close to the town 四條町. Every time when we go for shopping, we need to take a bus to the downtown. Easy access to anywhere by bus. The hotel staffs are very professional. The breakfast is highly recommended to book before departure. The hot spring, the room size, buffet breakfast, the service of reception are in a high standard. Highly recommended to the travelers who is planning to Kyoto. Interesting point: No shoes in this hotel. U need to lock your shoes in the locker before you walk in the hotel. They provided socks for you to wear.

Ala Hotel Kyoto is a charming boutique hotel situated in the heart of Kyoto, offering a blend of traditional Japanese hospitality with modern conveniences. Its location is excellent for tourists, as it provides easy access to many of Kyoto’s famous shrines, temples, and cultural sites. The interior decor of the hotel reflects a tasteful mix of classic and contemporary styles, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Rooms are well-equipped with modern amenities while still maintaining a touch of traditional Japanese aesthetics, such as tatami flooring and sliding shoji doors in some rooms. The service at Ala Hotel Kyoto is noteworthy, with staff demonstrating the attentive and polite service that Japan is known for. They are helpful in providing information about local attractions and transportation, which enhances the overall guest experience. However, while the hotel excels in comfort and service, some guests might find the amenities slightly limited compared to larger hotel chains. The dining options, although satisfactory, may not impress those looking for a more extensive menu.

Nice and clean hotel, good location to browse the city. The staff are kind and friendly. The rooms are not big but family of 3 with one big piece of luggage can easily fit in. Japanese style room is very charming but you might need some time to adjust to a mattress firmness. The breakfast selection is rather limited and repetitive.

The room was spacious and comfortable for two . Location was superb and the reason I chose this hotel. Only one pedestrian walk away from Kyoto Station which is the best choice if planning to use public transport to move around. The staffs are all super helpful and friendly. Malls, Restaurant and convenience stores are in vicinity as well. Would definitely stay here if coming to Kyoto again. And you can store your luggage if you came earlier than designated Check In time so no worries about your lugagge.

I am absolutely delighted! This is a Japanese business hotel. During my 2 weeks of stay, I saw Europeans only twice. The staff is very polite, cleaning, changing towels every day. Lots of disposable things and even pajamas. Clean, non-smoking hotel (which is a big plus for me as an asthmatic). In the same house Lawson 24 hours, there are excellent izakayas and soboshny (standing with your back to the exit of the hotel, we are a little to the left and straight ahead, otherwise I did not find them right away). The area is quiet, 3 minutes to the metro, 10 minutes to Kyoto station and a larger interchange, the bus to the oceanarium stops right under the windows. The hotel provides breakfasts (I did not go to them, they were very early) and dinners (you can choose, different every day, until 9:00 order). The hotel also has sento (!) and laundromats. I will simply 200% come here again! 2 minuses for me personally: 1. Early (very) breakfasts. 2. Terrible pillows (but it was the same in Osaka, maybe it's a regional feature)

Came here with family during the Sakura season. It's easy to get to the onset hotel. After arriving at the Ogoto Onsen JR station, towards the south exit you will find a cell phone attached to a board with explanation how to use the phone to call one of the onsen hotels. After the call, their shuttle bus will then come and pick you up between 2pm to 6pm I think. The hotel staff in general are very welcoming. Our family scored a deal with their penthouse suite with private indoor and outdoor onsen. Four of us stayed in the suite and the price is only slightly more than four of us staying in 2 regular rooms. It also came with a beautiful fruit platter for you to enjoy. The suite is very spacious with 2 separate toilets. The bath area has 2 sinks, a shower stall as well as a japanese style bathing area connected to the 2 onsen baths (indoor one is a hinoki wood tub and the outdoor one is a stone one. The outdoor onsen does have a slight privacy issue as there are some residential buildings in a distance. While my mom was a bit too modest to use the outdoor one (which I am not and fully enjoyed it), she did take full advantage of the indoor private onsen. Of course the hotel also has a public onsen for the guests. In fact they have two. One in each towers. I used the one on the top floor in the morning and it was a bless seeing the sunrise while soaking in the hot onsen water. Our package also included both dinner and breakfast that were served at their private dining room. Both meals were done in kaiseki style. We were particularly impressed by their dinner. Not only was it cooked with high quality ingredients and with beautiful presentation, they did not skimp on the quantity as well. Often after eating dinner at other onsen hotel, I would not feel full and actually felt a bit hungry later at night, at Yumotokan the courses kept coming and I was completely stuffed at the end. In fact I did not finish the rice even though it was so yummy (cooked from scratch in front of us with a flamed mini-stove). All in all, a very satisfactory experience. I can recommend anyone who comes to Kyoto/Osaka and wants an excursion and experiences the traditional Japanese onsen.

I stayed with my family for 2 nights for purposes. I chose this one near the station because of the location, but the room is a business hotel type and is by no means large. Is it kept clean? I couldn't deny that the equipment was aging, so I entered the room and there was a spot that was noticeable. Although it is 2 consecutive nights, the card key will not work at 11 o'clock the next day, probably because I booked one night at a time, and an error occurred. I asked the front desk to deal with two stories, but I went to the front desk again without apologizing and went to the front desk again. From the time of check-in, I couldn't feel the service spirit at all at the front desk, and it was clerical. This hotel seems to have nothing to do with that. Because there are usually more people cleaning the room for one night, the aunt uses the entire corridor to spread the used linen in each room, and it is difficult to walk in the corridor. The elevator is also occupied by a linen transport cart around 1100-1300, and it is difficult to get there. It's okay if you just sleep, but it feels a little expensive for that room and service.

I stayed in this hotel several times before the epidemic. It is more than ten minutes' drive from Kyoto Station and a small square from JR Kusatsu Station. For people who are tired from a day's travel, it is more convenient than hotels in Kyoto with inconvenient transportation. I chose this hotel again for my first trip to Kansai after the epidemic. I bought a Kansai Wide Area Tour Pass and it is not a problem to stay here and go anywhere. Although the facilities are not modern, the room area is large enough, and the service and catering of the old-fashioned hotel give people a good feeling.
