2 minutes walk from Baker Street tube station, better overall hotel, reasonable price, good location, clean, air conditioned, good breakfast. The night before chose the hotel near Paddington station, small and shabby, and importantly hot, do not save this £30, otherwise you will not have a good night's sleep.

The room for one person is relatively small, but there is a radiator, which can dry clothes. It is good in all aspects and the transportation is very convenient.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the train station. The price/performance ratio of the room is very high in London. However, the room booked by Ctrip was questioned by the staff at the front desk because the price was too cheap. Even if the order can be found, I still asked me to show the reservation Card, we booked through Alipay. Although we managed to check in in the end, it was a waste of effort. The hotel management needs to be strengthened.

I used to stay here regularly but the manager is terrible - with customer service. I tested positive with COVID 24 hours before my stay so I called them to see if I could move the date forward and emailed my Covid test. The manager said no even though I wasn’t asking for a refund. It’s half term so no problem rebooking, he said if I had notified them within 48 hours it would be allowed. I stay here regularly and cannot help getting Covid but the manager was rude and does not know how to deal with customers. Avoid staying here. The manager is pompous with no empathy. I am very sick and just wanted to move my booked date.

No hot water for 2 night stay. No solution offered when I told the guy at reception. Had to have a cold shower which was horrible as I have a cold. Very run down and tiny room for the price. I've stayed in hotels 1 street over that were £100 less and better. There was a window in the bathroom that allowed a bright light outside to shine through the bathroom door and into the room so it was hard to sleep.

I stayed for one night as needed a room near the hospital I was checking in next morning. I had a look at few hotels and if I am perfectly honest chosen this place as it had most favourable price and ok-ish reviews. Hotel is simple but it had everything for a comfortable stay especially for the price charged. Room was quiet, enough that I was able to sleep with a window open. Bed was very comfortable and I have very bad back so usually it is tricky for me to find comfortable matress. I got a free upgrade which was a nice touch. Both the room and bathroom were quite decent size - would be easily ok for 2-3 people. I don’t understand negative reviews - I would stay here again. My only dislike unfortunately not limited to this but many hotels in the UK is carpet vs wooden or laminate floor, but not enough to deduct a star. One thing was funny on the check out the person at the reception had their feet up on the desk - not the best look for greeting guests but suppose it was before 7.00 am in the morning😄

The good: Great location of the hotel, clean room and sheets, good breakfast. The bad: tiny room, closet door didn’t open because it was rammed against the bed (that’s how small the room was). I’m not a tall man and I hit my knee three times when trying to dress in the morning. The room was underground (floor -1). NO WINDOWS. And right next to the breakfast restaurant so everyone passed next to my bed in the morning. I paid over $300 (230 British Pounds) and it was really too much to pay for a tiny underground lair.

We checked into this hotel on Saturday, June 22. The hotel is very clean and has a full breakfast each morning. They were very accomodating and had one of two rooms ready early at noon so we could shower and change after our long flight from the USA. We did notice that the air conditioning unit was not working. So, we reported this. The afternoon/night manager said he would make a note of the complaint. He did come to the room to see if he could show us how to work the AC. He agreed it was broken. The hotel was fully booked, so we could not move to another room. On sunday we asked if the AC could be checked while we were out. The front desk assured us this would happen. When we came home it was not fixed. On Monday we reported this again. They wanted everything in writing from us. I emailed the hotel and heard nothing until I said I would be writing about this on Yelp and Trip Advisor. Again, no further follow up. I hope no one gets our room when it's even hotter! I wish this had not happened. We liked everything else. We just felt we were not heard and they didn't care.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Horrendous hotel and is falsely advertising that they are 4*. We left immediately when entering the room as it felt unsafe and dangerous. Upon entering, it is visible that the hotel is severely run down. Terrible service and cheap looking and extremely DODGY room. Foul odour, writing on the walls, stains on the pillow case. Botched reception area. DISGRACEFUL.
Response from Property: Dear Nikki, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we can't trust it as honest review due as soon as you entered in the hotel you were asking for free cancellation and refund of your stay. Unfortunately, as you booked and prepaid through an Online Travel Agent you have to request it via the way you booked and paid. As you booked the same day of arrival we can't granted for any free cancellation, as you were insisting, due all sides we have always to follow the Terms and Conditions of the reservations any guest booked. At the end you accepted the reservation you made and before entering the room you were complaining. As soon you entered in the room, certainly you didn't take 5 minutes to find any excuse to complaint and try again to get a refund. We double checked the issues you reported and we didn't find any of your complaints and the room was served to other guest the following day. We are sure that during your next reservation, if you book it in better circumstances for you, for sure you will enjoy the experience we use to deliver to all our guest. Kind regards,

Blanford hotel One word to describe this hotel: AVOID Let's start with the POSITIVES: 1. NICE RECEPTION STAFF – Jyothika and Antonio were very pleasant and patient in solving the issues that I encountered during my 3-nights stay. They helped me settle down in a nice room after all the issues on the 2nd day, and after 3 room switches. 2. GOOD LOCATION – very central to everything, ex. restaurants, shops, touristy sites 3. COMFY BED 4. BREAKFAST INCLUDED: vegetarian options A lot of NEGATIVE things: 1. FIRST ROOM DOOR DIDN’T LOCK (RM46)– after I unpacked and organized my things, as I’m leaving, I realized the door isn’t locking. On-site maintenance came in and tried to lock but wasn’t successful and left without saying anything. I had a few hours to do some sightseeing, and the reception said it’s safe if unlocked so door was left open. After 4 hours, still wasn’t fixed. I had to pack up everything and change room for the night. 2. SECOND ROOM DIDN’T COME WITH A BATHTUB AS DESCRIBED + PHOTO (RM22): after moving 1/3 of my stuff to second room, I realized there’s no bathtub. When booking on Agoda web, it clearly said “shower + bathtub”. Reception then switched me to another room, but he said the “bathtub” description shouldn’t be there. The reason I booked this hotel is for the bathtub. I think whoever that’s responsible for hotel marketing messed up. 3. THIRD ROOM BATHROOM LEAK (RM14) – Reception moved me to third room with bathtub. Once again, I moved my things and made 4-5 trips up and down. Took a bath at 9:30pm, 20 min later, he knocks on my door at 10pm, and said there’s a leak downstairs. I had to shorten the bath and take a quick shower. He came in for a quick look at night. He thought I made the water overflow (which was not true + irritating), but it was likely the overflow malfunction or old caulking around it 4. LOUD STREET RM 14 – the room is facing the street on the 1st floor, whenever there’s a car passing, sirens or people playing music on the street, you can hear 100%. It’s like you’re sleeping on the street. I slept only 3 hours that night 5. FRUITFLIES in the rooms 6. OLD BATHROOMS WITHOUT PROPER VENT (RM14) – after a shower, all my stuff on the bathroom counter (including makeup) were drenched 7. LOUD HEATING FAN (RM 14)– sounds like an airplane in the room 8. THIN WALLS + DOOR – you can hear people in the next room walking or taking a shower, and in the hall whenever people open their hotel doors. 9. HOUSEKEEPING STAFF ENTERS YOUR ROOM WITHOUT PERMISSION – I had my “do not disturb” sign on my door in the morning, and when I came back in the evening, they had rearranged things. This is an INVASION OF PRIVACY. Another gentleman at breakfast was also complaining to the staff that his room was dirty when he checked-in. He told me that the management has changed recent and they’re outsourcing everything. The service has gone downhill in the past year. There are other things, like dirty/mouldy walls, very tiny
Response from Property: Dear LindaLinda888, Thank you very much for your recent stay at The Blandford Hotel. It is unfortunate to receive such bad review from a nice guest like you. We apologizes for any inconvenience you feel during your stay. We have taken note of the issues that you have reported, foward it to our managment team and we are going to address it. Honestly, I am very surprise for the noise reported, in particular coming from the street as we are in a quiet street (in Central London) and our window are soundproof. Also rate of $250-300 Canadian dollars (£144-173 British Pounds) are the average or lower rate considering the location and days booked. If you decide to give us another chance, we are sure in your next visit you will have a much better experience as most of the guest deserve and receive it. Kind regards,

Lovely, bright, clean Hotel. Just across the road from Baker Street Underground / Tube Station and Madam Tussaud's. Very quiet and comfy beds. Good choice at Breakfast too - both fried English and Continental selection. Special thanks goes to Gustav for his kindness and local knowledge in directing us the right way to Marylebone High Street (only about 5 minutes walk away). Recommended!

Hotel reception pleasant. Good location near to Baker Street. Quiet location. No restaurant. Can’t comment on breakfast. Hotel room small but expected for central london. Kettle broken and room and bathroom dirty and mouldy with dead flies. No excuse to be dirty.

The location was brilliant. We could walk to everything within 30min and there was an underground 5min walk away. The area was nice and there was a lot of shopping and dinning opportunities close by. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. The cleanliness was not good. There was old chocolate under our bed the whole stay, that was not ours. Furthermore we found hair and a tonenail on the floor which was not ours either. The drain was clogged and there was flies.
