We recently stayed on the 8th (top) floor in a deluxe king room. So many reviews mention a noise issue, but we NEVER heard noise from the top floor bar or pool or from the restaurant on the ground floor. The only noise that was troublesome was children on our floor racing up and down the hall and banging on doors for fun, but the hotel quickly took care of that. Aside from a quiet stay, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom is thoughtfully designed and we always had warm water and great water pressure. We did have once instance of the shower not draining but it was quickly resolved. The views were incredible and the blackout curtains were perfect, fully covering the windows; no rays of light sneaking in like so many traditional curtains. The Hyatt app allowed us to Chromecast to the TV when we were relaxing and wifi was fast. While there isn't a traditional desk area to work from the lobby has plenty of room to settle in comfortably and work from a laptop if needed. This was a trip to celebrate a milestone birthday and the tommie Hollywood team left a small birthday gift in the room to help us kick off our stay. It was so thoughtful and much appreciated. The location is great-- we were able to walk to much of what we wanted to do in Hollywood/Downtown LA and the rest was a quick Metro or Lyft away. We were mildly nervous about staying in Hollywood, but a lot of revitalization has been done and it was honestly better than our hometown west coast big city in terms of safety/visible unhoused persons. We were steps away from some amazing food/drinks, too-- Intelligensia, Bahn Oui, Love2Eat Thai Bistro, Scum and Villany Cantina, the Hollywood Farmers Market on Sunday, and Ka'teen and Desert 5 Spot in the hotel itself. We will be back!

Perfect place for a shuttle airport hotel! Shuttle very 15 minutes and a great place to prepare for a trip. Pool and bar is nice. Spent way more on drinks and food than I imagined but not much around… it was fair in the end. Great bar staff.

Entrance and lobby is quite nice and modern, the rooms are exactly the opposite. Although is does the job after a long travelday, the room was very outdated. Bed was pretty good I must say. Also the fire alarm sounded twice in the middle of the night. The gave us complementary breakfast as a compensation but only after a making a complaint. Location is pretty good. Near aiport and near Rental cars (10 min walk) The fitness room is ok. Outdated, but still does the job.

It was a Great Hotel, the location is great, very well connected to subway, lots of restaurant and fast-food around. The rooms and the facility is great, especially the 7th floor pool deck the staff there are very friendly, room is very comfortable and spacious, clean, have all amenities I needed, including the slippers which I used for the pool side. Some of the receptionist are very friendly, courteous especially the girl who extended my checkout time and the gentlemen Manny they made me feel home, also the concierge gentleman, I am from Asia and you definitely need people like them to make you comfortable. on the other had there were some receptionist who don't even want to smile, a smile cost nothing, it is because of these couple of them that the hotel might not get the guest back. Over all I will for sure come back again and there is no need for me to stay in other places, i use to stay in sheraton grand, but now I recommend this hotel and also myself will stay here again for sure. The one incident that nearly ruined my stay at CitizenM was the aggressive sprinkler inspection. I was not notified by email, phone, nor physical note about an inspection. At 9:15am, I was awoken by banging on my guest room door. I went to the door to see two men continuing to bang on the door, saying that they needed immediate access to check on equipment. Everything I've been taught about hotel safety was to NOT open the door to unidentified men. I told them everything in the room was fine and that I would be checking out within the hour. They continued to insist that I immediately open the door, which started to frighten me. I told them I was going to call the front desk to check if they were sent by the hotel. I was surprised that one of the men responded in an angry manner saying, ”FINE, GO AHEAD AND CALL THE FRONT DESK!” The woman at the front desk apologized, said that she too had just found out about the inspection, and said that the men were indeed authorized to inspect the sprinklers. I opened the door and they did a quick inspection. I did not appreciate the aggressive, unprofessional manner in which they demanded entry into my room. Other than that, the rest of my experience was excellent!

Could easily be zero stars. Original room was 93 degrees upon check in, the air conditioning unit was poor by anyone's standard, we asked to switch rooms. They did not offer to come get our bags, or move us to a new room so we brought our luggage back down to the front desk. We were then given a second room. Again, no offer made to accompany us and see if the new room was up to standards. This room was 92 degrees upon entry. After a second phone call, they sent up staff to change the filters on the AC unit. That team told us the AC was functioning well and blowing cold air (it was blowing cold air as if you had a few ice cubes in your mouth and blew on my neck) and to use the blackout curtains (after a sort of condescending explanation of what blackout curtains do) and give it some time for the AC to work. We went out to dinner for about two hours and came back to a nice cool 87 degree room. We once again took our belongings back downstairs. We were then told by the front desk staff that since we booked a room with a king size bed all of those rooms faced the sun and would all have similar problems (why would that be an acceptable answer?) and they could do nothing more for us since they accommodated us once already. I had no idea their idea of accommodating someone was to put them in a room with the same problem that the previous room had but what do I know, I am not in the hospitality industry. We were then told that the hotel was completely booked so no further ”accommodations” could be made. We asked for a refund and this is the first time they reacted with some conviction, they were happy to let us leave. Must be nice to be able to turn away business. At no time were there any apologies, any remorse, just matter-of-factly let us leave. My wife and I don't argue or yell, we never feel its worth it, but we left angry and hotel-less on a Saturday night in Los Angeles. We scrambled to find a new hotel but the damage was done, they took our entire Saturday away from us, which no refund could ever compensate for, they temporarily took our joy to be in town on our own as we are parents and do not get much time away. We did take our business elsewhere, to a Hilton, they seem to understand that to relax you need a room that is slightly cooler than a sauna. We were able to salvage the remaining days of our trip. Also the elevators at the Freehand are old (charming?) and constantly in use because of the rooftop bar so it took us waiting for a few packed elevators to get up and down to the hot AF rooms which probably added to our level of frustration. But it was mostly the Sahara like environment of the hot room. Did I mention the rooms were hot? Also maybe use a free hand to open a book on what hospitality looks like, I think your staff may be surprised. (see what I did there?)

On my first night in this hotel, I was woken up at around 7 in the morning by two women having an extremely loud conversation in the room next to mine – even though I always sleep with earplugs on. I called the front desk and told them that two guests were being loud and that I couldn’t sleep because of it. The woman who answered my call said she’d send someone to tell them to keep it down. Nothing changed so I called back a while later and she said that the man she sent told her that he couldn’t hear anything unless he put his ear up to the door. I said that was insane because I could clearly hear the conversation from my bed and even more so when I slightly opened the door; there is just no way that anyone walking in the hallway wouldn’t have heard it. She remained quiet and I added “do you want me to take a video in the hallway?” just to prove that I was not lying and that what she said didn’t make any sense. I really don’t appreciate being gaslit by the hotel I’m staying in; I paid good money to be here and this employee is literally telling me that what I know to be true is somehow not. Their job should be to make sure I’m having a comfortable stay, not to deny reality! Anyway, she said she didn’t want me to take a video and told me that she’d go up herself along with the man she sent originally. A few minutes later, I heard knocking on a door, and the guests did lower their voices after that. I was able to go back to sleep until my phone rang a few minutes later. It was this same woman from the hotel telling me she told them to keep it down but that they weren’t fighting, they were just having a normal conversation. Ok? First of all, I never said they were fighting, I said they were being loud. Second, what does it matter if they were fighting or not? You can have a loud conversation or an argument at a reasonable volume, the point is that they should not be speaking so loudly. Third, they had already been told to lower their voices AND THEY DID, which enabled me to go back to sleep – so why are you waking me up with a phone call? I just saw this as more gaslighting, another opportunity to tell me that what she believed to be my version of the events wasn’t true – even though I clearly said “two guests are being loud” and never “two guests are fighting.” Needless to say, I will not be staying here again! I will say this, though: Milenia from the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I don’t remember the name of the employee that handled my call that day, but I interacted with Milenia when I checked in and when I checked out, and she was great. Edit: It has now been a week since I was there and I have not gotten my deposit back. This place truly cannot be any worse.

TTemuujinI recently had the opportunity to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne for a business trip, and I must say, it was a rather pleasant experience overall. First and foremost, the hotel's proximity to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a major advantage. It's a mere 10-minute drive away, which made it incredibly convenient for someone like me who had to catch an early morning flight. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a nice touch. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and welcoming. The lobby area is clean, modern, and well-designed, creating a favorable first impression. I stayed in a standard room, and it was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the extra pillows provided. The room had a decent view and was adequately spacious for a solo traveler. The bathroom was also clean and stocked with the necessary amenities. One of the highlights of my stay was the on-site restaurant, The Bistro. The food was surprisingly good, and they offered a variety of options for breakfast and dinner. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and provided excellent service. However, I found the prices a bit on the higher side. The fitness center was well-equipped, and I was able to maintain my workout routine during my stay. The hotel also has a small outdoor pool, although I didn't have the chance to use it during my stay. The only downside to my experience was the noise level in the hallways and adjacent rooms. Thin walls seemed to allow sound to carry, which made it a bit difficult to sleep when there were noisy neighbors. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was a bit slow at times, which could be frustrating if you're trying to get work done. Overall, the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne is a solid choice for travelers looking for convenience near the airport. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and excellent dining options make it a comfortable place to stay. However, improvements in soundproofing and Wi-Fi speed would enhance the overall experience.

HHannJust needed to stay one night to catch a flight the next morning. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit cramped but was overall fine. Breakfast was nothing fancy but was also fine. More options than I thought there would be. The traffic was a bit alarming in the morning getting to the airport. Would recommend leaving early to allow for time.

LLisa DesmondThe most caring people I have ever encountered. Upon arrival from AUS at 8.30 am my phone battery was flat and my bank travel Mastercard card wasn’t working so I was unable to pay the taxi driver. I was travelling solo and hadn’t slept in 36 hours so I was stressed and barely lucid when I walked in to the hotel. Lucia at front desk took care of things for me. We got my phone working, got the cab driver paid then she called house keeping and organised a room to be cleaned ASAP so I could check in early. I was in my room in bed by 10am thanks to her. After a lovely afternoon out and about, the next morning I woke up vomiting and running a fever. They don’t have room service so the front desk staff brought anti-nausea drugs and water up to my room within 3 minutes of me calling. They offered to phone and check in on me throughout the day as they knew I was travelling alone. The next morning when I checked out at 5.30am to get to LAX I got in my Uber and as it was about to leave the woman on front desk came running out, stopped us from leaving and said to me “you said your Uber’s a Nissan, this isn’t a Nissan, you should get out of the car”. It turned out a previous guest had taken my Uber. Once we realised this, the driver of the Uber I was in would not take me, told me to leave his vehicle and get my bags out of his car. As I had a plane to catch and was worried I would miss it, the same front desk lady rang me a cab which arrived in minutes. If you are a solo traveller STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! The rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. To top it all off Lucia didn’t charge me for early check in; she said given how stressful getting there had been, it was the least she could do to help. Gifts from God and great beds to boot!

GGuest UserThe location is good, right in Koreatown, but the room I was assigned was isolated from the main body, which was inconvenient on rainy days.

GGuest UserMost important: we got an excellent nights sleep. Second floor in the back of the hotel (rm 222). It was quiet and we found the bed excellent. Service was helpful, polite. And the Wifi worked reasonably well - no problems with that. Also important is we booked the room for $84 (total) and in LA/Manhattan Beach area that is cheap. Walk in price was $109+tax. So all my suggestions are just ”future ideas” and I have no grounds to complain about anything since we slept really well there. And yes, we will be back again no future trips. Things that could be better: o ice maker ”out of service” - they had one unit and it was connected, would make whirring noise when pushing in the dispenser, but no ice. We used the in-room 'fridge to freeze some water bottles to keep our picnic things cool the next day. o inner courtyard looks like a small prison yard: the former pool and hottub are covered with what looks like roofing material and the fence around the pool area is locked off. No plants is the main problem. This could be a gem of a garden. My advice is to visit estate sales and garage sales to buy all the *large* potted plants they can find cheap (or free). o renovate the rooms a bit: e.g. rip out the old carpets and put in any (yes, even linoleum) floor that can be mopped - much cleaner, no place for fleas, bedbugs, or dust mites to live in. Wash the walls and paint where repairs have been made - simple things can make the room much more pleasant to be in. o put a window screen on the back window - which essentially faces a wall. But it was good (quiet) ventilation since it wasn't facing the street. o small grey mark on the pillow case and a stray hair on the bed - harmless stuff to us but other people might find more objectiionable. And some stains in the carpet that probably will never come out. Not a big deal.

GGuest UserWe booked a room through agoda for 4 persons. Website mentioned that breakfast is included in room rates. However NO breakfast was provided despite having paid for it. The front desk informed that due to covid there is no breakfast and NO refund was provided. Website information is totally misleading.... The room for 4 persons was basic but okay. On request, extra blankets and coffee pouches were provided. Room was cleaned daily. There was no closet. There is a microwave in common area which can be used on request from front desk. However the property is quite rundown and needs maintenance. The carpets are stained and linen is well worn out. Would do well to replace the linen and carpets. Most electric sockets don't work making phone charging a challenge. Wyndham really needs to do a quality control to make the property come up to its standards There are other options in the vicinity like the Hollywood inn which seemed better but as our room was non refundable, we had no choice.... The property is located two blocks from metro. There is a Target and a CVS nearby. The Thai town is two blocks away with good restaurants for Thai food. Location wise it is convenient but there are a lot of homeless people in the area. Some camp right opposite the property at night giving the area a rough look.
