Lovely hotel, great location, great rooms and nice staff. Our two rooms were really lovely. Great air conditioning. Quiet for New York. Location amazing, walk across the road to Times Square. Subway station close by. Door men were really helpful. Big thank you to Jimmy who was really helpful. Concierge was really helpful getting us great tickets to shows. Breakfast was ok. Charlie Parker Steak across the road had excellent steak.

First, I'd like to thank Daniel, Efren, Omar, and the entire staff for their excellent service. They made this trip truly enjoyable and demonstrated why one should choose to stay at the CDMX above all other options. The hotel is beautiful and a truly luxurious experience. Furthermore, this hotel is in the middle of everything. It's very easy to walk to nearly every tourist destination and it's right on the hop on/hop off bus route. I would highly recommend for you trip to CDMX.

Refinery is first of all a good location. It ’s convenient to go to Broadway to watch a show or to go to midtown. The nearby Bryant Park has my favorite breakfast shop. West 40th Street has good Spanish food. Michelin ’s chef ’s table is the highest in the world at West 39. Street ... you can understand so much. In fact, the room facilities are just like that. In contrast, I prefer their hotel public facilities and bathrooms. Their rooftop is a relatively popular restaurant with nice night views.

The first thing I will mention is that the hotel is 5 star and is expectedly, very expensive, being in the heart of Times Square. I took this into account when writing my review. If I am paying that much, my expectations would be higher than normal. I stayed for 12 nights over the Christmas and NY period so I obtained a very comprehensive view of the hotel and everything about it. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and the staff were always there to attend to any requests and issues. The moment I got out of my transfer car, there was a lovely young gentleman waiting to get all my bags and transport me upstairs to the reception. The check-in was reasonably flawless but there was a bit of confusion around the payment because of resort fees the hotel charges daily. I prepaid my booking and there was confusion over whether it included or excluded the resort fee. The reception area is immaculately presented and the bar and restaurant are both located here. I intended to use the gym during my stay, but didn't have time to even take a peek. Nor did I visit the bar or restaurant. There's way too many options outside to do that. The very polite and courteous young gentleman then took me up to my room. He showed me everything and away he went. I got a bit of a room upgrade which I highly appreciated and had a beautiful view of Times Square. I was on the 2nd highest floor, floor 39. The room is not big. It was adequate for one person but nothing more. I don't think I would be able to stay here if I was with another person. It would be too uncomfortable and I had to find space for my 2 suitcases and carry-on. The bathroom is open plan, with a door for the shower and toilet. A big problem I had in my room was that if it was windy you will hear a loud whistle coming through the bottom of the front door. It really annoyed me. I had to take the cover off the bed and make a snake shape to block the gap underneath the door to stop the noise. Even a bath towel didn't work. They need to fix this. The hotel is very new and the rooms are very beautifully equipped, presented and maintained. I was pleased to see that most of the things I requested before I arrived (some extra bath mats, bath towels, hand towels, face towels, mini fridge, bathroom scale) were mostly there upon arrival. I quantified the number of towels I needed as I was not getting any housekeeping during my 12 night stay but I did not get the quantity requested. I expected a bit more attention to detail for a 5 star hotel. Before I arrived I was asked if I was celebrating a special occasion and Guest Services pushed up my expectations as I was celebrating a special occassion and they said something nice, I assume maybe a cake or some alcohol would be waiting for me in the room. When I arrived there was nothing. And there was never going to be anything throughout my stay. I didn't mind and only remembered towards the end of the stay. It’s really beautiful at night. If you are looking for comfortable accommodation, there are better hotels at the same price. Although there are always patrols in the busier streets of Manhattan, there are still some homeless and secluded small hotels nearby when you go out at night. Try not to walk on the alley. Also on our last night helped us tremendously as far as transportation to the airport since there were road closures due to a parade We were able to get a car right at our door and not have to use a taxi nor other! Amazing hotel in the best area , close to everything . Hotel itself clean , cute cozy. Room is very decent, we see the Empire State from our room , breakfast has hot and cold stuff and to go food if you want for a snack , I loved their coffee. People from reception, breakfast team, housekeeping are decent , helpful and working hard. They hv a cozy cute table downstairs for a drink or the 26th floor which is the top notch to see NY and direct to the Empire State. My only recommendation pls do a deep clean for the carpet in z rooms as we noted stains . I def recommended and will go there again and again

Great location. But the service standards absolutely disappointed. In room telephone was not working and despite repeated complaints it was not repaired through my stay of 4 nights. So basically we had to go down all the way to reception every time we wanted something at the room. From toiletries to food to water. Even the front desk as well as the duty manager simply expressed inability to do anything about it Initially even some of the lights in the room were not working. Clearly one of the worst stays of my life at a big brand hotel All in all a big disappointment

Great location in Midtown, just blocks from the Empire State Building, Macy's, and several dining and breakfast options. Easy walk to subway and even Times Square (20 minutes). Rooms are small, but clean and very comfortable. (We were impressed by how much storage space was available in the room.) Amenities are not fancy (small restaurant with limited options, small gym), but it's an excellent starting point for exploring the city. There was some noise bleed from neighboring rooms, but none from outside.

”Hip” and ”boutique” has become a metaphor for dirty and unclean. The ”hotel room” was bare bones, dirty, with previous guests used personal toys left behind end tables. The small kitchen was barely usable - no under cabinet lighting, no dishwasher, small fridge, coffee maker dirty and unclean, same for the broken toaster, no dishwashing soap for even the small amount of utensils and glassware. No effort was made to clean underneath the bed; the bed itself sagged. The room view is into tenement like housing (if I wanted a West Side Story experience, I would go to the theater rather than pay for this cheap ...calling it a hotel is a stretch). The balcony is a joke (at worse a hazard (make sure the balcony door is locked.) The corner space between the top mattress and boxspring was dirty, crumbs, dust, etc - clearly had not been vacuumed or cleaned since the Roosevelt administration. Wi-Fi is subpar. Another effort by a non-corporate hospitality company (or whoever owns this dump) to milk tourists who come to New York by renovating whatever this building used to be into a sub standard ”hotel” rooms and skating by on ”location.”

Because the plane was late, I arrived at the hotel at 1 o'clock in the middle of the night. The lady at the front desk helped me to check in very quickly. It was the speed of New York. Hotel location is very good. About 5 minutes walk to Fifth Avenue, turn to Central Park, and the subway station will walk for 5 minutes. The hotel is a post-modern urban minimalist style, the room is good, very New York apartment feel, but the breakfast is a bit too casual, too simple, but the breakfast at the New York hotel is probably so good, it is a very good hotel

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's just steps from the southern part of Times Square. We had a floor-to-ceiling window with a view of the square and ball (it was December) which was awesome. Lots to see and do just steps away. Room and bathroom were small, which I expected for NYC. Everything was clean and housekeeping was friendly. Elevators can be slow, but they need to do something about check-in. It's horrible. Waited an hour in a cramped line with two young boys. Most parents nightmare. They should figure out a system to just text you when your room is ready. Then not everyone needs to come at the same time. There isn't enough room in the lobby. I would visit again but would request early check in or come much later.
