R2 Bahia Kontiki
4.3/540 Reviews
So nearly a 5* review. Just returned from this beautiful hotel after a 10 day stay and a brilliant holiday. Peurto del Carmen is lovley. Something for everyone. The Positives. The pool, hotel, chill out balcony, views are just amazing. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast area and food cannot be faulted. The breakfast/bar staff are amazing too. Had a couple of lunches here as too from the snack menu and responsibly priced. 4 euro a pint of beer 2 euro for a coffee. Sun beds were easy to obtain. I think they have put more in since other reviewers had complained about lack of them. The negatives, and this should not put you off coming but it is why i cannot give it a 5* review. On arrival you are told that if you want to use the safe its now 4 euro a day this has increased from 3 euro a day. So that would have been 40 euro then for us. If if you want WiFi in your room its 2 euro a day. So before they give you a room key they wanted 60 euro off me. Not a chance. This should be provided for free in a 4* Hotel. Luckily i had read previous reviews so bought a lock for my case and topped up my data before i came. Also if you have a late return flight they will find you room to have a shower but again only if you pay 30 euro until 3pm or 40 euro after this. Come on !! Surely you can find a room that people can spend 20 mins in to have a quick shower and a change of clothes before a long journey home. Other Hotels provide time slots for this. We ended up getting changed in the lobby toilets which to be fair were big enough for it not to be a problem. Overall the positives by far outweighed the nagatives, and i would deffinatley stay here again.
Hipotels la Geria
4.4/541 Reviews
My daughter and I spent a great week at Hipotels La Geria. The Hotel is attractive and has a beautiful pool. It is in a good location, just across the road from a huge sandy beach and only a few minutes walk to bars, restaurants and local shops. Puerto del Carmen centre is only a short bus ride away, too, if you want more. The Hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was also clean and comfortable, with a good size bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space, fridge and a free to use safe. We were half board and found a huge choice of food available for both breakfast and dinner. We arrived late in the evening on our first day and although the restaurant was closed, they had put some cold meats, cheese and fruit out for us to eat, which was a welcome sight! We were warned that they were doing some building work on the Spa during the day, which is located near the pool but we weren't bothered by any noise or dust etc. when we used the pool. All in all, a lovely stay and we would definitely go back.
Suite Hotel Montana Club
4.1/541 Reviews
Having visited Montana Club twice before we now consider it not value for money any more. Taking all things into account the rate charged has nearly doubled for the same accommodation we booked 2 yeas ago. Nearly 700€ a week was considered acceptable, over 1200€ a week is now untenable considering other aparthotels/private apartments in the same location. Criticisms - Balcony unusable because of no parasol or shade prevention despite being in direct sunlight. Room service every other day, not daily. Cleaners not making beds (hardly a hotel)! No real hotel atmosphere or 100% attended reception. Despite a rule saying 'It is strictly forbidden to reserve sunbeds' clients were still placing towels on sunbeds as early as 6.00am. The rule isn't enforced. Room now looking tired. No repairs to deteriorating condition attended to. In conclusion if you have over €1200 to spend on 7 days I would choose wisely as in our opinion the 'Hotel' Montana Club is far from value for money.
Hotel Floresta
4.2/541 Reviews
Currently staying here and I will start with the really bad stuff. Invisible manager not once seen them and they refused to come and speak to me about issues. The pool bar is overrun, not enough staff, staff generally unhappy, no customer service skills, most of them extremely rude and all speak and treat you like kids, it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel. Nowhere to sit and have a drink from a glass in the day, you need to drink beer from beakers, again treated like kids, terrible. Restaurant over run, too small for the amount of people, tables on top of each other, it’s a basic canteen - honestly the worst thing experience ever. I would not recommend anything other than bed and breakfast for this hotel, this means you can stay away from the rude staff in the pool bar. All the drinks are very very cheap and local, they can’t even stretch to a bottle of Arehucas rum on the all inclusive. It’s bargain basement at its best. The grounds are lovely, as is the apartment, well maintained. The cleaner is lovely, very pleasant and helpful and cleaned to great standard. I may have given a better review if I had been able to actually speak to a manger and resolve my complaints but they don’t seem interested. (Probably overworked like the rest of the staff) shame all the other staff don’t have the same skills as the cleaner.

The hotel was lovely, location great. The room was spotlessly clean. We did not eat but had a drink at the pool bar which was lovely.
Apartamentos la Peñita
4.4/543 Reviews
These apartments deserve more than 2 star. On arrival 20.30hrs Mavis the receptionist was brilliant booking us in taking us to show the various exit entry gates and then on to our apartment. Apartments are basic but everything you need is there and they are large, cleaned every other day and bedding changed twice weekly. Very large swimming pool and a very good priced bar / restaurant we had breakfast their every day. All the staff were very good and helpfull. The management here deserve a mention it is obvious that they want you to have a good holiday and they are going to help you by not overcharging and working as a family. If I were to pick fault it would be unfare as they would be minor. It's a very well done from me.
