Hotels in Sofia City Center, Sofia

The hotel was fully self-check-in with auto-locking doors, and no staff were present! Great value for money. There's a hairdryer available. However, the Wi-Fi wasn't working well, so I couldn't use it. They said it was under repair, so I recommend checking its status before booking! I booked a room with a window, but it couldn't be opened, and it was dark even during the day. The photos were taken at check-out, so it's a bit messy, but it was very clean when I arrived! This hotel is recommended for those who will be out and about all day, from morning till night!

Having stayed in many 5 star hotels across the world, I had high hopes for the Sofia Balkan Palace, that unfortunately were only partially met. First let’s cover the good points! It feels historic without being old, and you feel like you’re really in Sofia. The best thing about the property is easily the location; it’s close to all the main tourist attractions, and there are good transport links right by the hotel, as well as access to some fantastic restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. The hotel rooms are modern and relatively clean, with the usual amenities. However, I was disappointed that housekeeping kept forgetting to replenish the complimentary daily water, as well as pay attention to the ‘Do Not Disturb’ light that I had selected for my room on a few days during my visit. I would say that one of the downsides is the customer service; although staff aren’t rude, I wouldn’t say they’re polite or overly helpful. The hotel has average soundproofing, and I was far too aware of the music outside, my neighbouring guests talking or listening to music in their rooms, as well as guests in the hallway (which is in part due to the layout of my room, which did not have an additional door between the bedroom and front door into the room). The noise outside does lessen and stop by about 11:00 PM, and sometimes by 10:00 PM (depending on the day). Overall, I’d still say it’s a good choice for your stay in Sofia. Especially if your priority is staying in a historical boutique hotel in a good location.

Extremely impressive for how cheap it is. I’m sure you can get nicer but for an adventurous traveller, I’m not spending time in the hotel only to sleep! I could walk into town so I was very happy indeed with this!

The hotel's location is truly central in Sofia. It's close to the main business district, and Vitosha Blvd, with all its restaurants, is within walking distance. I had no complaints about the hotel facilities; they were perfectly satisfactory. I personally opted for a breakfast-included plan, but I would have appreciated a bit more variety, especially with salads and other vegetables.

Everything was good. Breakfast is in the cafe. İts not normal breakfast. You can choose and sandwixh or drinks or coffes. They give you a card. And you have limited.

Rooms are spacious. Amenities are sufficient such as shampoo, shower gel and slippers. Breakfast has many choices. Reception helped us print the boarding pass, very helpful and friendly.

Hotel is just a few minutes walk away from the cathedral and walking distance to all the sightseeing spots. The front desk is open only from 8am to 5pm but staff was not necessarily there all the time. They answer phone calls so I recommend getting eSIM with number so you can call staff when you needed when they are not there.

Aurora Sofia (boutique) hotel, convenient location, direct subway from the airport, to the old town, museums and several attractions, just one stop by subway! Although there are not many rooms, they are very wide, the bathroom is complete with all kinds of supplies, even management, the service is very perfect, the staff is kind, the service is warm, the hotel includes breakfast, the food is rich, (there are Chinese fried dumplings)....! This hotel facilities, services, comparable to the beautiful 5-star hotel! 👍

Excellent hotel located right in the city center, a short walk from Serdica metro station. The room was spacious and comfortable, with very large beds. The green marble bathroom was beautiful.

Nice location and comfort and clean room. I will visit again.
