"When choosing this hotel, I saw reviews claiming it was the best in the seaside area, but my overall experience was quite average.
Firstly, the parking lot design was extremely flawed. After parking in the underground garage, there was no elevator to the upper floors; we had to carry our luggage up the stairs before we could use the elevator. Since most hotel guests bring suitcases, and we had a child and a stroller with us, this was incredibly inconvenient. I've never stayed in a hotel like this before. The hotel design was also strange. The VIP reception was on the fifth floor, unlike typical hotels where you're greeted in the lobby. Our experience from the parking lot to the fifth floor was unpleasant, and the facilities didn't match the price.
Secondly, regarding service, the overall experience was very average. Aside from one staff member at the fifth-floor reception, we barely encountered any hotel staff. We even had to walk to the adjacent reception building for breakfast. The previous night, we stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Shenxianju, where the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. In comparison, our experience at the VIP hotel was a stark contrast, even though the VIP room rate was significantly higher than the DoubleTree by Hilton. A reviewer added us on WeChat the day before check-in, but it was essentially just for recording our license plate. The booking confirmation mentioned a complimentary gift, and reviews also confirmed it was included, but we didn't receive one upon check-out.
Regarding the facilities, the hotel is quite old, and some are dated, but the rooms were generally decent. There was welcome fruit upon entry, and a late-night bowl of noodles was served, which tasted good.
Overall, this experience was very average. I had high expectations for the hotel based on the reviews, but the actual experience was quite disappointing. For the price, I'm not satisfied with the experience."

GGuest UserSolo Hot Spring Retreat: The public hot springs were very quiet and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing soak.
Facilities: Excellent. They even provide disposable razors for men and disposable sewing kits.
Environment: The room was very spacious and quiet. The balcony was perfect for enjoying tea and the outdoor views.
Service: Robot delivery for takeout, plus thoughtful service from the butler.
The hotel's Xianju noodles were a generous portion for only 36 yuan (the server auntie was very kind and practical, advising me to order just enough).
The hotel breakfast was very satisfying (I loved the beef congee, fish skin congee, and the various Xianju snacks).
One regret: It rained those few days, so I couldn't visit Shenxianju. I'll definitely come back next time!

Secondly, the facilities seemed inadequate; the gym, converted from a small, makeshift meeting room, looked old despite the hotel's recent opening. Thirdly, while the breakfast selection was plentiful, the fruit quality was poor. Finally, the service was indeed very good this time—the staff offered tea and applied smiley faces—but it felt somewhat artificial and purposeful. Compared to my previous stays during the Chinese New Year and May Day holidays, the staff's smiles lacked genuine warmth and familiarity, creating a sense of customer connection. It was an indescribable feeling; only those who have experienced it will understand.

There are many picture books on the first floor of the hotel, which are suitable for children to read. The breakfast is rich in variety.

GGuest UserI visited Shenxianju a few years ago and was struck by how clean the stream next to it was. I remember thinking how wonderful it would be to take a dip in the river after an exhilirating hike. So, this time, I deliberately booked a hotel by the river again. I wondered why I hadn't noticed this idyllic, 'Shangri-La-like' hotel before, nestled by the mountains and water with refreshing air. Waking up naturally to the crisp sound of birdsong and then admiring the misty mountains from my window instantly lifted my spirits and energized me.
The hotel staff, Angela, proactively added me on WeChat. She thoughtfully shared the hotel's location, check-in details, activity times, and recommended local Tujia cuisine restaurants. Her service was very attentive but never intrusive—kudos to her!
The hotel's location is super convenient, close to both the South and North Gates. The underground parking is massive, making parking a breeze. So, whenever I went to the Shenxianju South or North Gate scenic areas, I just took a taxi back and forth. It was so easy and saved me the hassle of finding a parking spot at the scenic area itself.

GGuest UserThis stay at Linhai was a wonderful experience. We went to the hotel reception desk hoping to change to a twin room, but they were very friendly and upgraded us. They also provided us with noodles and milk for dinner. They also promptly provided ice cubes for the bathtub, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean, and the bathroom was spacious with a bathtub. They even provided foot bath bags, allowing us to soak while enjoying the night view. This was the first pleasant surprise. The second pleasant surprise was the bowl of noodles we had in the evening. Having eaten too much at Rong Xiaoguan, we decided to try the noodles at the hotel. We ordered the vegetarian noodles, which were surprisingly delicious. They were surprisingly satisfying. Even with a full stomach, we ate one bowl and still wanted more. The breakfast the next day was excellent, combining local Linhai flavors with the standard amenities of most hotels. The taste was also quite good. The pool was not crowded during the day and looked clean, making it a great place for the kids to play in the water. Overall, the experience was positive, and I would definitely stay at Yuanzhou again when visiting Linhai.

GGuest UserThis luxury Japanese-style hotel, nestled 800 meters up the mountain, offers incredibly thoughtful service from the moment you step into the lobby. The entire aesthetic is dominated by wood, with a faint sandalwood aroma in the air and tranquil music playing, making the whole world feel peaceful. My room was thoughtfully upgraded, and with plum blossoms blooming outside the window, my wonderful vacation truly began. The travel photos turned out amazing, with a natural and fresh style. The hotel's carefully prepared activities also made for a very fulfilling experience. Among the complimentary lunch, the pork cutlet was delicious, though the chicken was a bit ordinary. My only minor regret was at checkout: due to my schedule, I hoped for a late checkout, but it wasn't possible because the hotel was fully booked, which I completely understand. Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip, and I'll definitely be back.

WwagtlSanmen is very small, and it is said that this hotel is considered good in Sanmen. The hotel is newly decorated (although the materials feel too ordinary), the room is quite large, and the service of the girl at the front desk is good. It was a bit busy during the Spring Festival, but the attitude was still very good. The highlights are breakfast, the restaurant by the swimming pool, many varieties of drinks and ice cream, all are good, I will choose it next time I come to Sanmen.
