The guesthouse is just a few steps from the bus stop, with a nice and clean ambience. The lounge area is so huge with lots of seating space. Freebies like drip coffee and green tea are superb.The onsen hot spring is spacious and relaxing. I love both indoors and outdoors. The whole place is full of Fragrant aroma probably from the hot spring elements downstairs. Even the capsule Dormitory, each capsule is quite large and bright, spacious enough for me to sit down comfortably in that cubicle.the room is well air-conditioned in a scorching summer. As overall, the accommodation is much better than my expectations. I didn't expect a guest house at this price for this excellent service. 期待よりも素晴らしかった宿です。ホンマに印象深かったです。将来に機会があれば、又そちらへ遊びに行きます。

The entire hotel feels incredibly cozy, and the host is absolutely wonderful. I left some personal items behind in Tokyo, and the host went above and beyond, constantly communicating with my next hotel to help me retrieve them. Every time I left or returned, the host was there to greet me. You can really feel their dedication to running this guesthouse. Highly recommended!

What an amazing guest house with beautiful interior design! This was the best stay I’ve had in Japan so far. The staff are super kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is zen and social. I loved having dinner there (you need to reserve in advance as spots are limited). It was delicious and a wonderful experience to wear yukatas as a group. A big thank you to Nana, Kira and Fuko :)) Another great advantage is the location is excellent, right by the Hakone open air museum (best museum I’ve ever been to) and near a Lawson and 7/11. There’s also a bus stop right there and the closest train station is only a few min away by foot and Gora station is about a 15 min walk. I think the Hakone free pass is also worth doing for 2-3 days because the value and convenience is very good. One morning, I had breakfast in the caravan parked outside the guesthouse, run by Tom, and that was practical and yummy. I didn’t have time to check this out, but there’s the Hakone foot spa nearby that’s supposed to have nice views and there’s also the Beer Bar by Gora Brewery that looks nice for dinner or lunch. Kowakidani Horaien Gardens and Chisuji Falls are also nearby (20 min walk). Overall, I highly recommend this place and would gladly have stayed longer and hope to come back one day! Very good service for an affordable price. I stayed two nights in female dormitory, the bed is spacious even the top one,I was provided with towels and a kimono-style robe, which was very comfortable. There are two private onsens in the inn, you can reserve any of them the day before. Also, there is a small kitchen with cooks, you can order a breakfast and a dinnir a la carte, which is very convenient. The only downside is that you have to bring the luggage uphill when checking in, but it is not a problem when checking out because there is a free transfer provided each morning to the Gora station.

The hotel is located in a hot spring guesthouse village, and the last bus from Hakone-Yumoto to the hotel is at 8 PM. There's one indoor and one outdoor hot spring. They swap between male and female use throughout the day in two separate time slots, so at one time the outdoor bath is for women, and at another, it's for men. This experience wasn't ideal; it felt a bit confusing. Also, no toothbrushes or toothpaste were provided.

This hostel in the hot spring town is incredibly cost-effective. It took some getting used to on the first day, but we found it quite nice after a while. We stayed several nights and had many European and American guests, including some families and a South American couple. They probably preferred the hostel's atmosphere. You can buy food at the Lawson convenience store in town and store it in the fridge, then have breakfast in the communal kitchen. Since the shops on the street stay open quite late in the morning, it's very convenient, affordable, and quiet.

*The guest villa was nice, clean, and comfortable.* We had a small issue at check-in though. The check-in email only came in at 4:30 PM, but we arrived at 3:00 PM. Plus our room was changed from 201 to 101, so the code we got didn’t work. Luckily the staff was there when we arrived and helped us check into the new room quickly. *Facilities:* Washing machine is paid - 6kg for 400 Yen. Dryer is 100 Yen for 30 mins but clothes don’t get fully dry, so we still had to hang them out. The drying area is small but clean enough. Bathroom was clean too and overall facilities are good. The room was clean, a standard Japanese-style room, but it didn't have a private bathroom; we had to use the communal onsen for showers. The location was serene, with a lovely Japanese countryside view, and there were some good restaurants nearby. For the price, it offered great value. You definitely need a car to get here, as the nearest bus stop is a 10-minute walk away.

If you're particular about dust on windowsills and walls, or the hygiene of bedding (excluding the covers), you might want to reconsider booking. While the duvet cover was clean, it's just a single cover, so as you toss and turn in your sleep, your body inevitably touches the duvet itself. However, considering the insane accommodation prices in Hakone, this place is incredibly, truly cheap! The location requires taking a bus to get anywhere, but the bus stop is close by. Be warned, Japanese rural bus schedules are a real headache! Make sure to check the bus times carefully for both your inbound and outbound journeys. Plan your day by checking the timetable for each bus route, otherwise, you could easily waste an hour or two. The staff are incredibly friendly. I met different staff members upon arrival, during my stay, and at check-out, and they were all genuinely super friendly. In short: Would I book here again if I revisited Hakone? Yes!
