## Review of Homestay in Tianjin / 天津民宿评价 I recently had the pleasure of staying at a wonderful homestay in the 杨柳青 area of Tianjin, and I can't recommend it highly enough. As a stressed entrepreneur and doctor traveling from Shanghai, this trip was a much-needed break for me, and the homestay exceeded all my expectations. 我最近有幸住在天津杨柳青地区的一家很棒的民宿，我强烈推荐这里。作为一名从上海来的压力很大的企业家和医生，这次旅行对我来说是一段急需的休息时间，而这家民宿远远超出了我的预期。 The 杨柳青 area is incredibly peaceful, offering a serene environment that is perfect for reflection and deep thinking. Out of all the places I've stayed, this homestay in Tianjin stands out as one of the best. If you have an early flight this is a good hotel to stay at as it’s only 15 minutes from the airport. The room was clean and the staff very friendly. My only problem was they had smoking rooms/floors and even though we had a non-smoking room there were some guests who still smoked in the stairwells. This is not the hotel’s fault but should be mentioned in case one cannot stand the smell of smoke. There is not much for food around the area but for a 5-10 minute taxi ride you can get to an area with more options including some western options if you desire that type.

This was my second time booking here. The bedding is very comfortable, and the room is spacious. It would be even better if the parking lot was more convenient. It's very easy to get everywhere from here, and the area is quiet at night, so you won't be disturbed while sleeping. The front desk attendant was very helpful and proactively asked if I needed a bag. I'll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, and very helpful. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which made a great first impression. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I especially appreciated the cozy bed and the quiet atmosphere, which allowed me to rest well after a long day. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, and everything was fresh. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. For this cheap price, we had a great stay! My friends and I stayed here for a short trip to Binhai while looking for a cheap but still decent hotel. At just 11€ per person including breakfast, our expectations were not very high — which made the experience even more surprising. Location The location is quite convenient: about a 10-minute drive from Tanggu Station and 15 minutes from Binhai Station. To the famous Binhai Library it takes around 10 minutes by car. There is also a McDonald’s and several convenience stores nearby. Check-in & Service Check-in was smooth. We received all necessary amenities such as a toothbrush, comb and razor. The receptionist was very helpful and made sure our two rooms were on the same floor. Rooms & Facilities The rooms were modern, clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom had everything you would expect. Although smoking is permitted inside the rooms, there was almost no smell at all, which didn’t bother us. A fun extra: food orders were delivered directly to our room by a small robot. Breakfast Breakfast was very Chinese. There was a selection of baozi, vegetables, fruits, and some pre-packaged bread. The variety and ambience match the low price, so don’t expect many choices. Points to Criticize There are only two minor downsides: • During booking, a city view was promised, but we got a small window facing a narrow atrium. This might be because we requested two rooms on the same floor. • The room temperature felt a bit too warm. When we left the room, the AC also stopped working. Overall All in all, we would definitely stay here again. This hotel offers good value for money and is highly recommended for budget travelers or short stays in Binhai.

For this price point, the cleanliness was really subpar. The cleaning cart was left in the hallway the entire time. The staff themselves were good, and the location was excellent. I'm usually not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to for this one.

Honestly, I didn't want to leave a review, but I'm truly upset. Upon arrival, the front desk upgraded one room for me; my parents used the other for sleeping and weren't there otherwise, so no issues there. In the room I stayed in with my child, the bathroom sink was inexplicably under repair when we arrived. After the maintenance worker finished, they didn't clean up and even flicked cigarette ash into the sink. With a child, someone smoking before check-in was already a headache. The toilet also had a leak, leaving the floor wet, and the area under the window sill was damp too. When I went to bed, there was some uncleaned dirt on the pillow, so I ended up not using a pillow at all and just made do for the night. The next day, because I didn't sleep well, I didn't go out in the morning and just checked out at noon to go home. I've stayed at various Lavande Hotels in different locations a few times, and this experience was truly terrible.

This is an old-fashioned state-run guesthouse. The facilities are outdated, but still functional. All the spots that are supposed to leak only do so intermittently, but if they leaked freely, a strong foul odor would rise up. This is a contradictory problem, and it hasn't been resolved well. The breakfast buffet is decent and reflects Tianjin's local characteristics. The building, originally situated by the river, is now being obscured by a nearly completed new building next door, significantly impacting the view.

We planned a two-day Valentine’s trip to Jizhuo International Ski Resort, the Jizhuo Kart Cave, and the glass bridge. It turned out to be one of the best trips we’ve ever had — and surprisingly low cost. What touched me most was the way they welcomed us. We visited during Chinese New Year, which is usually family time, yet they treated us like honored guests. We even had the chance to meet the entire hotel owner’s family. Instead of feeling like customers, we felt like part of their celebration. As foreigners who have been far away from home for a long time, that warmth meant more than words can explain. My girlfriend felt exactly the same. It didn’t feel like we were staying at a hotel — it felt like home. The grandmother personally cooked dinner and breakfast for us. It wasn’t just food; it was love, care, and sincerity served on a plate. They even took us to the Jizhuo Kart Cave themselves because there weren’t many cars available. They didn’t have to do that, but they chose to. Overall, this was not just a trip. It was an experience filled with kindness, culture, and unforgettable memories that we will carry in our hearts for a long time.
