"The hotel's location is pretty good, close to the Haihe River and the Five Avenues. We checked in around 10 PM. After showering, it was almost midnight, and I was still sweating from the heat. I checked the air conditioning, and it sounded like a tractor and was incredibly dirty. It was just blowing natural air at 26 degrees Celsius, less cool than the hallway. I contacted the front desk to switch rooms. The front desk service was okay, but the staff who came to help kept saying that we hadn't had the AC on long enough and that all AC units in Tianjin were the same and only blew cool air. 😓 We switched rooms, and the AC there worked fine; the temperature quickly dropped to 24 degrees with the door closed. However, the sink in the new room was clogged and drained very slowly. By the time we finished all this, it was almost 1 AM. Overall, for Tianjin, it's a decent value for the price, but it's a far cry from a five-star hotel."

They even offer a 30 RMB Chinese lunch per person, and breakfast is available too, which is a nice touch."

"I've previously stayed at Banyan Tree resorts in Dali, Xixi, and Bintan, all of which featured garden villa styles. This was my first time experiencing a Banyan Tree on a higher floor in a hotel building, specifically at the Haihe location. The hotel boasts a unique and advantageous location, right next to Wanghailou Catholic Church, Tianjin Eye, Yuan Shikai's Former Residence, and the Italian Style Area. It's also 1.5 kilometers from the bustling Jinwan Plaza, offering a feeling of tranquility amidst the city's activity. Upon entering the hotel lobby, I was greeted by Banyan Tree's signature Thai aromatherapy scent, which was fresh and elegant. The guest rooms offer an aromatherapy turndown service, and the hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, and lotion all share this refreshing fragrance, which is very soothing. The guest rooms are 60 square meters, featuring a desk, a long sofa, a dining table, a walk-in closet, and a bathtub, with clearly defined zones. The balcony door on the 7th floor was sealed and couldn't be opened. I assume this is because the balconies are connected, and for privacy reasons, access to them is not allowed. As a result, from inside the room on the 7th floor, you can only see a partial river view, which was a bit disappointing. The first round of the mini-bar is complimentary and includes pour-over coffee, as well as complimentary desserts and snacks. The wooden Banyan Tree room card is quite distinctive. The fitness center is on B1. The swimming pool is a minimum of one meter deep with warm water, making it family-friendly. The gym and pool are separated by a glass wall, offering good views. However, the ventilation wasn't great, making it feel a bit stuffy, which could be improved by adding fresh air conditioning. The overall service of the hotel meets Banyan Tree standards. What needs improvement is the landscaping. Even for a high-rise building, and especially in the north, more effort should be put into greenery, particularly in the courtyard. There's a lack of comfortable outdoor facilities or amenities like a sky garden, which prevents it from fully embodying Banyan Tree's philosophy of integrating with nature. If the Haihe hotel could upgrade in this area, it could likely command prices similar to the Ritz-Carlton."

"The swimming pool is pretty good and suitable for kids; just remember to bring your own goggles and swim cap! Free parking is also a plus, very convenient. However, due to recent road construction, it gets a bit noisy near the city view side. The restaurant's food selection is a bit limited."
