XIAO YI
I rarely write lengthy hotel reviews online, but this time, the Hyatt Centric Tianjin Nanzhan genuinely exceeded my expectations. It's a hidden gem, a niche luxury hotel near Tianjin South Railway Station, and I couldn't just leave a short, perfunctory good review.
I chose this place purely for its convenient location near Tianjin South Railway Station; it’s only about a ten-minute walk to the high-speed train station. If you're driving, there's free underground parking, and they even have charging spots for new energy vehicles, making it perfect for business commutes or short trips. The hotel just opened in 2024, so all the facilities are brand new and pristine. The lobby boasts a low-saturation modern design without being overly flashy. The warm, brown soft furnishings paired with artistic decor create a quiet and serene atmosphere, avoiding the hustle and bustle of downtown chain hotels. Those who appreciate peace and quiet will particularly love this relaxed vibe.
Even the basic room type I booked was nearly 40 square meters. The high-floor panoramic floor-to-ceiling window was the biggest surprise; in the evening, you get a full view of the entire South Station cityscape, and the golden hour light filling the room was incredibly soothing. The room layout is clearly defined, with a lounge sofa, a separate workspace, and a sleeping area that don't intrude on each other. Little touches like electric curtains and entry-sensing lights were a big plus. The bathroom's wet and dry separation is excellent, featuring an extra-large built-in bathtub, a Laifen hairdryer, and two TOTO smart toilets. The toiletries have a subtle, sophisticated scent, and soaking in the tub instantly melts away travel fatigue. The most unexpected delight was that the mini-bar items were all complimentary, replenished daily with Beibingyang soda, Coca-Cola, and mineral water, along with an exquisite welcome fruit platter. No hidden costs really earned my full appreciation. The soundproofing far surpassed expectations; I couldn't hear any high-speed trains passing by downstairs. The mattress was medium-firm, and there were both soft and firm pillows, ensuring a peaceful and undisturbed night's sleep.
I must mention the facilities on the 19th-floor high-altitude area. The heated indoor pool had clean water and was rarely crowded, with a 25-meter standard lane, and a sauna after a swim. The gym had all imported Life Fitness equipment, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows offered an expansive view during workouts; exercising in the morning while watching the city slowly awaken was particularly refreshing. Breakfast was in a separate dining area, so no sharing with neighboring hotels. It offered a balanced mix of Chinese and Western options, with local grain dishes, freshly cooked noodles, Western pastries, and fresh-cut fruits – all fresh and well-prepared.
Silvia at the front desk provided gentle and meticulous service. Check-in was efficient, and she proactively informed me about all the complimentary benefits, even giving me a buy-one-get-one-free drink voucher for the lobby lounge. When I needed something late at night, the robot delivery service was incredibly responsive. The entire hotel isn't overly commercialized; it's understated yet tasteful, unlike 'influencer' hotels teeming with noisy crowds. It's more suited for travelers seeking comfort, quiet, and great value for money. For layovers at Tianjin South Railway Station or short stays in Tianjin, this place is definitely my top secret pick. I will certainly choose Hyatt Centric again on my next trip to and from Tianjin.

This hotel is situated right by the Hai River, and the river view rooms offer expansive views, allowing you to take in the stunning night scenery of the river. The indoor pool is a major highlight; it's beautifully maintained with clean water, and you can enjoy the outdoor views while swimming – a truly great experience. The guest rooms are spacious, and the bedding is quite comfortable. The executive lounge, Club InterContinental, also boasts excellent views.
During my stay, I encountered a minor issue: the blackout curtains in my room malfunctioned and couldn't close properly. After contacting the front desk for maintenance, a technician arrived promptly that evening and quickly completed the repair. The overnight response efficiency was very high, and the problem was handled extremely well.
Overall, the hotel's facilities are well-maintained, the service response is timely, and the location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around or taking a stroll along the Hai River. It's highly recommended for anyone visiting Tianjin.

Five-star review! My stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Tianjin on August 11th with my two children was absolutely perfect. As soon as the car pulled up, the concierge immediately came over to help with our luggage. Check-in at the front desk was efficient and swift, with no long waits. Dinner at the Chinese restaurant was exceptionally brilliant. A special thank you to the staff there; their service was meticulous and thoughtful, with just the right amount of attentiveness, making us feel incredibly welcomed. The sommelier, a charming young man from Tianjin, was elegant and highly knowledgeable about wines. His professional explanations and recommendations truly enhanced our wonderful meal. The king-size bed in the room was spacious and incredibly comfortable; it easily accommodated two children with plenty of room. The hotel noticed the children in our party and thoughtfully prepared adorable kids' amenities, a detail that was truly heartwarming. From the front desk and concierge to the dining service and room setup, the service quality across all departments was consistently excellent, and every staff member demonstrated high professionalism. It's clear that the hotel boasts mature and comprehensive management, as well as outstanding management capabilities. This was a thoroughly pleasant stay, my top choice when visiting Tianjin. I look forward to returning!

Guest User## Amenities & Environment:
The hotel's overall environment is quite good, with the hot spring area and the kids' play castle being the two main highlights. The hot spring water is clear, and there's a decent variety of pools, perfect for relaxation. What impressed me the most was the play castle – it's an absolute must-have for families with children. Kids can play to their hearts' content, allowing parents to catch a break. It's truly family-friendly.
## Service Experience:
The staff were friendly, and the check-in and check-out processes were quite smooth. Towels and drinks in the hot spring area were replenished promptly.
## Recommended for:
Highly recommended for families with young children. The hot springs cater to adults, and the play castle keeps the kids entertained, offering a one-stop solution for a weekend family outing without having to juggle multiple locations.
Overall, it's a great value-for-money family resort. The combination of hot springs and a kids' play area makes for a very hassle-free stay.

Breakfast during an extended stay: Breakfast was just so-so.
Room type upgrade for extended stay (subject to availability): The hardware facilities are pretty good.
Excellent price, good service, and the dinner at the executive lounge was very thoughtfully prepared. Overall, highly recommended.
The surrounding area is very quiet with a strong business vibe. It's far from the city center, but it would be great to spend a couple of days at the hotel as a staycation when not attending meetings.

Honestly, just so confused as to why this place is called a 5-star. It is most certainly not 5- star. The room and the bathroom weren’t even squeaky clean. The bathroom had all these dirt marks along the shower and the toilet. The hotel is sold to have a pool, but the pool is actually a public pool that was just full of kids. It was also said that the breakfast is western. Western? I don’t understand what they’re referring to because the breakfast we had was very much Chinese. If I’m eating rice and chicken curry at breakfast that is not western. There wasn’t even any cereal, the most basic form of western breakfast. The whole place is just doing too much, there’s a convention room, some shops etc all at one place. The meal area looked like a high school canteen. There was absolutely nothing 5-star about this hotel. Honestly, if you are expecting 5-star, DO NOT go to this hotel. The only good this is the staff were nice.

Guest UserHighly recommend this hotel! The front desk service was absolutely fantastic. They proactively helped with our luggage, and the staff member had a very warm smile. She even arranged the room we preferred. The room itself was clean, hygienic, comfortable, and very quiet. The housekeeping staff was incredibly thoughtful, offering extra bottles of water without us even asking. The breakfast spread was excellent, with both Western and Chinese options, including freshly made Tianjin specialties. The concierge, a lovely young lady, had a sweet smile and was very helpful. Overall, it was a truly satisfying trip. The hotel also has great scenery. Definitely recommended, especially perfect for spring!
