Maui Creek Bure's Tiny Home by the Creek!

10/10
Outstanding

Myself and my partner were both so impressed with Maui Creek Bures. We had an amazing 3 days staying here during our travels in Fiji. Ken is an unbelievable host - the definition of can’t do enough for you. Any request we had he jumped on without hesitation and had plenty of suggestions to make our stay so memorable. It’s rare you come across a 10/10 host, but we certainly did here. The accommodation was very clean and modern, containing all appliances needed to self cater with ease. The bed may be the comfiest bed in all of Fiji. The location is excellent with all interests and amenities a short walking distance away. The place itself is incredibly quiet and peaceful where we felt so relaxed. And last but not least a special mention has to go to the resident dog, Nacho! She made our experience even more special and even showed us her favourite spots around town! We are sad we only got to spend 3 days with her but know that the next guests here will love her just as much as we did. Highly, highly recommend this place. Best value for money I think we’ve ever had whilst travelling. Would return in a heartbeat.

A very VERY strange experience here I must say.. I arrived at the 28 bed dorm room (even though trip.com said it was 10 bed) and there was no sign of any other life in the dorm at all. Most of the beds looked like they had been made months ago and nobody had slept in them since because they were covered in a layer of dust and dirt.. I went back to reception to ask what was going on and they said I’m the only one booked in so I just accepted it as it was. However, later on when I was sitting the bar a member of staff approached me and told me I had been upgraded (because supposedly the dorms weren’t clean due to a big group having checked out yesterday) so I ended up spending two nights in a luxurious Bure, the first night shared with someone else who was booked in for the dorms. The Bure was beautiful and spotless and I am very grateful for the upgrade. The outside shower was also very nice! The breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from! Eggs, sausages, beans, bread, cakes, yogurts, fruit, multiple cereals, tea, coffee and juice, one morning there were pancakes. The only downsides to this resort is they don’t have any activities or excursions of their own and they direct you to the hotel further along - I did snorkelling there which costs $75 - the whole thing felt rushed in my opinion and the trip wasn’t worth the money. We got barely any time in the water and there was no time to stop and observe anything, seemed like the guys on the boat just wanted to get it all over and done with as fast as possible.

Gecko's Resort

I recently stayed at Gecko's Resort and had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. The resort has a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious and well-kept, with a comfortable bed that made for restful nights. I especially appreciated the little touches like free DVDs available to borrow – a nice bonus for quiet evenings in. The location is great too – just a short distance from the beautiful Sigatoka Sand Dunes and the Pacific Ocean, so there’s no shortage of things to see and do nearby. One downside, however, is the Wi-Fi. Access requires a voucher, and if you're streaming videos (like on YouTube), the data only lasts around two hours. This was a bit inconvenient, especially in an age where connectivity is expected to be seamless. Overall, Gecko's Resort is a great option for a peaceful getaway with a few nice extras. Just be prepared to manage your internet usage or consider unplugging and enjoying the serene surroundings.

Garden Apartments

I had booked the family apartment few weeks ago to attend my nephew’s engagement party 5 mins away at Bates cafe. Initially I loved the set up, space and first impression until night time when we returned from the party to sleep. The room that my mum was sleeping had bed bug on the duvet and we later on we could see blood stains on the bed sheet overhang. Mum had already got bitten by the bed bug and had allergic reaction for few days. Both mum and I are allergic to bed bugs and specially me. Therefore, I couldn’t risk sleeping on the bed. I had to move into the other room with another family. I was trying to reach the room service for some more bed sheets but couldn’t at that time of the night. While checking out I had speaking raised my concern and I was told by the checkout lady that they had fumigated just last week. That’s beside the point, we shouldn’t be paying to be bitten by bed bugs.

Crusoe's Retreat - Family Friendly

It looks better compared to pictures, the territory of a resort is pretty big, they have activities etc. The breakfast is included but it’s very basic: packed cereals, bread, fruits. You can buy the coffee from a barista machine and it’s not too bad. As the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, you need to buy everything from them, dinners are expensive in my opinion (but good) and no alternatives as it’s remote

Club Fiji Resort

We stayed at Club Fiji for our entire 5-day visit, and after exploring the area during our stay, we believe it was the best choice in Nadi. Why did we love it? The location is fantastic — right on the beach (we stayed in a beachfront bure), close to the airport but without any airplane noise. There’s a convenient free shuttle to many activities like the Vau Contemporary Dance performance or a Denarau snorkel cruise, and a taxi to Nadi town costs about 10 FJD. Our beachfront bure was newly renovated, clean, and had everything we needed — not fancy but comfortable. The beds were made regularly if we weren’t in the room when housekeeping came by. The grounds are stunning, with beautifully kept gardens and loads of chill-out spots — beach beds under umbrellas, hammocks on palm trees, two pools, and lovely spaces to eat or have a drink. The service was very personal, with staff always checking if we needed anything. They even have a travel expert on-site to help plan your activities and bookings. Entertainment happens most nights, ranging from the unique way dinners are served (like Korean grills or beach BBQs) to concerts and local celebrations. Food-wise, the buffet breakfast is simple but adequate since there are few other options nearby; the à la carte dinner menu is decent, but the special grills are outstanding. We really loved the authentic Fijian atmosphere here, which felt very different from the typical all-inclusive resorts—it had a feeling you couldn’t find just anywhere in the world.

Bua Bed & Breakfast

Bua Bed and Breakfast exceeded my expectations in many ways. The location is absolutely ideal — just a short walk to the beach and only a few minutes’ drive to Nadi town, which has a great selection of food and beverage options. Even better, the coach pick-up point for island hopping tours is conveniently located near the hotel, making day trips effortless. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with reliable and fast Wi-Fi — something I really appreciated. Breakfast was included and provided a good start to the day. Overall, Bua B&B offers great value, especially if you're looking for convenience, comfort, and a strategic base for exploring the area.

Mercure Nadi

I went for breakfast at 6:15 AM on the 20th, after being told it started at 6 AM. When I asked the omelet station attendant to make an omelet, she had just poured herself a cup of coffee and told me to come back later. Five minutes later, no one was there, and then she returned another five minutes after that and finally took my order. She made it, but without a smile, seeming rather annoyed. If this is the case, it would be better to just state that breakfast starts at 6 AM, but omelets aren't available until after 6:30 AM.

Golden Point Resort

A resort hotel with amazing staff hospitality, but be aware of the facilities 🌴 I stayed at Golden Point Resort for one night. Here's a summary of the pros and cons I experienced during my stay. ■ What I liked: Staff service: Above all, all the staff were incredibly friendly and approachable. They called guests by their first names and frequently checked in on us, which made their heartfelt hospitality very impressive. Location: The room faced the ocean, and the open view of the sea through the screen door was lovely. ■ What I found concerning/things to note: Check-in: I had to wait about 15 minutes at the reception as the staff spent a long time with the previous guests. Also, the security deposit at check-in is *cash only*, so you need to prepare for that in advance. Facilities: There was no Wi-Fi in the building, and the cell service was quite poor, making the internet situation very inconvenient. Also, the room door was faulty, and I almost got trapped inside. While the cleanliness was at a basic level, the overall age of the facilities was undeniable. Food: Since there are no restaurants nearby, you're pretty much limited to eating at the hotel, but the prices are a bit on the high side. Moreover, it took about an hour for the food to be served, giving the impression of a long wait. Perhaps they are short on kitchen staff. ■ Overall impression: Overall, the facilities and environment strongly gave off an 'outdated' vibe, and it might be a bit challenging for those looking for modern comfort. However, the warm personalities of the staff more than made up for it. For those who prioritize hospitality, it's probably an average rating.

I was a bit hesitant to book here after reading some negative reviews, but the location turned out to be the most important factor for me. And I certainly didn't regret it! I had two wonderful nights in a spacious room with a balcony, which allowed me to truly relax. The room had a kettle, a fridge, an excellent bed, and the pool was spotless. Cafes, restaurants, and shops are all within walking distance. Just be prepared for no internet access and make sure to get a local SIM card in advance.
