Amazing
MmarinkotsThe owner of the guesthouse was incredibly hospitable, which was lovely. The breakfast was also delicious. The location was great too; it was quiet despite being in the heart of the Thamel area, and there are plenty of shops nearby. The room was very clean and tidy. The only minor issue I noticed was that while the sink had hot water, the shower was only lukewarm. It gets cold at night in winter, so I would have preferred hotter water for the shower. Despite that, I was totally satisfied overall and would love to stay here again.
GGuest UserBest value for the price. This hotel is kinda new, so everything is clean and well-maintained. A/C and shower work perfectly, and the front desk staff are incredibly friendly !!! I’d definitely stay here again if I visit Kathmandu
TTaracandra YoginBaudha Apart Hotel
The Air is much cleaner at these heights. A lovely view to be seen from the roof top upon the city down below. There is a room up there, for yoga, for exercise, or meditation. An elevator takes you there, but you can climb the stairs, if you wish, especially to prepare for a mountain trek – there is an ample storage room in that regard. Boudha Apart is owned by a Sherpa family, originally from Lukla, so there are many good contacts with the high mountain community.
The hotel is fairly new, and that means nothing is broken. That is to say also, that it is well maintained, that the guests are not a rowdy sort, and they are mindful of each other's tranquility. The rooms are well thought out, and many have a sun facing balcony. Both sink and shower have abundant hot water, adjustable as you like. On the ground floor is a large restaurant, with a diverse menu of local cuisine, and western comfort foods. The basement is a parking garage for cars and bikes. The staff is of good cheer, and supportive of your adventures and plans. They, most conveniently, pick up and deliver to the airport. There is also a car and driver for various tours, as you will.
And finally to say, the price to value is most fair, as one compares to other hotels in the region.
IilpMadhuban Hotel is abaolutely the best hotel to stay in Kathmandu. I will tell you why.
The hotel is on point in all aspects.
Value for money - you get what you pay. The hotel offers free breakfast and very affordable in-house food and snacks. The pick-up and drop-off from the airport was smooth, hassle-free and absolutely enjoyable. I was picked up by the son of the hotel owner and it was an absolutely enjoyable time.
Location - Madhuban Hotel is strategically located - far from the noisy cith but near the places of interests. It is near the party area (thamel area) with lots of restaurants and souvenir shop. It is one ride away from major attractions.
Tours and adventures - the hotel have their own provider - adventureboundnepal. Theu arrange and match prices in the market. They were even able to pull up a last minute booking for me with the everest flight.
Hospitality - owners, managers and staff are all smiling, cheerful and happy. You feel at home.
Rooms - spacious and very neat. Heaters is working, fast internet and plus points if you have a terrace (which i did). The rooftop gives an amazing view of the neighborhood.
Restaurants and shops - plenty around the area. You will never go wrong!
Will stay again in Madhuban Hotel?? DEFINITELY!
PPascalHad a terrible experience at this hotel - booked it as a first stop in Kathmandu on arrival in Nepal, place to put my luggage while trekking and a last night before flying out of the country.
There is no provision for bag check - no tag given or the like. Asked if could leave / check my bag was told yes and to leave infront of front desk. Two weeks later when I returned to the hotel bag was still in the lobby infront of front desk. Things were missing of course - none of great enough value to argue, but the fact they couldn’t even be bothered to move the bag a few feet to a closet / holding space or the like is indicative of the way this place rolls.
Tried to book a shuttle for early morning to airport through hotel, listed as included service. Despite confirming and reconfirming, they arranged nothing. Instead at 5:15 AM it became a game of let’s make a deal and see how much we can charge while providing no evidence there was even a driver. In the end I gave up and carted my luggage to the street to get a taxi.
Nepal is a wonderful country - this hotel was a consistent bad experience. Rooms themselves are meh - didn’t try the free breakfast, on site restaurant was pretty good, atmosphere/ food. This isn’t a cheap hotel by local standards - for the price point there are much / many options in the area.
GGuest UserThe room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it.
Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out.
At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service!
Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on.
I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw!
Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome.
All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return.
As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

Very Good
RRISDHII stayed at Kusum Airport Hotel, Kathmandu 🇳🇵 for 3 nights (April 1st – April 4th), and overall it was a really good experience.
The location is very convenient, especially for travelers since it’s close to the airport ✈️. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect to relax after a long day. What I enjoyed the most was the food — very tasty and satisfying, definitely something I looked forward to every day.
A very special thanks to Sachin Thapa 👏
He was honestly one of the best parts of my stay. Always welcoming with a smile, very respectful, and gave excellent service every time. He made sure everything was smooth and comfortable, and his positive attitude really stood out. Staff like him make a place feel more than just a hotel.
The only thing that needs improvement is the bathroom, which wasn’t up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel.
Other than that, everything else was great — good service, nice atmosphere, and a comfortable stay overall. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu, especially if you want a convenient location and good food 👍
FFrancesco GamoudiI stayed for a little over a week at BnB Mhepi in Kathmandu, and I can confidently say that if you are looking for a five-star experience, this is the right place.
The hotel is located just outside Thamel (far enough to avoid the large tourist crowds and overpriced restaurants), yet close enough to remain convenient. This location allows guests to enjoy a more authentic local Nepali experience.
The property itself is excellent: well maintained, very clean, and thoughtfully managed. The staff and management are truly outstanding. Mani and his team provided exceptional service throughout my stay, assisting with transport bookings, offering valuable local recommendations, organizing tours at prices significantly lower than many local agents or online platforms, and taking care of room service, wake-up calls, and much more.
What stood out most was how genuinely attentive and approachable the staff were. They consistently checked in about my day and my plans in Kathmandu, clearly demonstrating their commitment to ensuring guests have the best possible experience while exploring their beautiful country.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu. If I ever return, I will not consider staying anywhere else.
GGuest UserI stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

CChristinalvxingdarenBecause I didn't catch the plane, I found a small hotel temporarily in the early morning.
facility:
Although the hotel is small, the hardware facilities are relatively good in Nepal, which is good.
There is air conditioning, hot water and card swipe door locks, which are advanced.
But there is no hair dryer either…
health:
I still saw the hair...
environment:
Room comfortable
Serve:
The breakfast provided is relatively simple (Picture 6 is the breakfast menu)
The service attitude of the staff at night is good, but the service attitude during the day is average.
In the evening, my friend in Kathmandu sent me to the hotel to pick up my luggage and take me to the airport. The hotel staff was even more hospitable.
