GGuest UserSmall boutique hotel with amazing service, the people are so helpful. Shree Jana at the reception is very cheerful, she always greetings the guest whenever come in and out of the hotel. My flight was early past midnight, they gave special price to stay at the hotel till 3 hours before my departute. Breakfast also good, serves lots of fruits. Location is close to all the shops and restos.Recommended for travellers who are coming to Kathmandu and want to stay around Thamel. Thank you for all the staff at Kumari Boutique hotel.

TTaracandra YoginBaudha Apart Hotel The Air is much cleaner at these heights. A lovely view to be seen from the roof top upon the city down below. There is a room up there, for yoga, for exercise, or meditation. An elevator takes you there, but you can climb the stairs, if you wish, especially to prepare for a mountain trek – there is an ample storage room in that regard. Boudha Apart is owned by a Sherpa family, originally from Lukla, so there are many good contacts with the high mountain community. The hotel is fairly new, and that means nothing is broken. That is to say also, that it is well maintained, that the guests are not a rowdy sort, and they are mindful of each other's tranquility. The rooms are well thought out, and many have a sun facing balcony. Both sink and shower have abundant hot water, adjustable as you like. On the ground floor is a large restaurant, with a diverse menu of local cuisine, and western comfort foods. The basement is a parking garage for cars and bikes. The staff is of good cheer, and supportive of your adventures and plans. They, most conveniently, pick up and deliver to the airport. There is also a car and driver for various tours, as you will. And finally to say, the price to value is most fair, as one compares to other hotels in the region.

IilpMadhuban Hotel is abaolutely the best hotel to stay in Kathmandu. I will tell you why. The hotel is on point in all aspects. Value for money - you get what you pay. The hotel offers free breakfast and very affordable in-house food and snacks. The pick-up and drop-off from the airport was smooth, hassle-free and absolutely enjoyable. I was picked up by the son of the hotel owner and it was an absolutely enjoyable time. Location - Madhuban Hotel is strategically located - far from the noisy cith but near the places of interests. It is near the party area (thamel area) with lots of restaurants and souvenir shop. It is one ride away from major attractions. Tours and adventures - the hotel have their own provider - adventureboundnepal. Theu arrange and match prices in the market. They were even able to pull up a last minute booking for me with the everest flight. Hospitality - owners, managers and staff are all smiling, cheerful and happy. You feel at home. Rooms - spacious and very neat. Heaters is working, fast internet and plus points if you have a terrace (which i did). The rooftop gives an amazing view of the neighborhood. Restaurants and shops - plenty around the area. You will never go wrong! Will stay again in Madhuban Hotel?? DEFINITELY!

GGuest UserWe knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. Niraj Yadav the receptionist and the team, we thank you dearly.

NNenanMy flight arrived in Kathmandu at 10 PM, and immigration took forever, so I didn't get out of the airport until almost 11 PM. I had emailed the hotel in advance to request an airport pick-up. I honestly thought no one would be there given how late it was and the lack of a contact number, but I saw my name card among the crowd waiting for cars at the exit. As a first-time visitor, this was such a pleasant and heartwarming surprise! The car took me to the hotel, which is located in the bustling, central Thamel area. Right downstairs, there's a 'Chengdu Skewers' restaurant. The hotel itself is one of the tallest buildings in the vicinity and boasts a glass-enclosed restaurant on the 12th-floor rooftop, with a pool and spa on the 11th floor – quite a bold design! Breakfast was good, and the service was attentive. The location is convenient; a rickshaw takes just 6 minutes to Durbar Square. The room size was adequate, but I was a bit disappointed to only get a room on the 4th floor after requesting a high-floor room. Also, the bathroom had a strong, foul odor that permeated the room even with the bathroom door closed. This backflow smell seems to be related to the plumbing and hygiene and definitely needs improvement. Other than that, everything else was great!

PPascalHad a terrible experience at this hotel - booked it as a first stop in Kathmandu on arrival in Nepal, place to put my luggage while trekking and a last night before flying out of the country. There is no provision for bag check - no tag given or the like. Asked if could leave / check my bag was told yes and to leave infront of front desk. Two weeks later when I returned to the hotel bag was still in the lobby infront of front desk. Things were missing of course - none of great enough value to argue, but the fact they couldn’t even be bothered to move the bag a few feet to a closet / holding space or the like is indicative of the way this place rolls. Tried to book a shuttle for early morning to airport through hotel, listed as included service. Despite confirming and reconfirming, they arranged nothing. Instead at 5:15 AM it became a game of let’s make a deal and see how much we can charge while providing no evidence there was even a driver. In the end I gave up and carted my luggage to the street to get a taxi. Nepal is a wonderful country - this hotel was a consistent bad experience. Rooms themselves are meh - didn’t try the free breakfast, on site restaurant was pretty good, atmosphere/ food. This isn’t a cheap hotel by local standards - for the price point there are much / many options in the area.

GGuest UserThe room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

AAnonymous UserLocation is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.

FFrancesco GamoudiI stayed for a little over a week at BnB Mhepi in Kathmandu, and I can confidently say that if you are looking for a five-star experience, this is the right place. The hotel is located just outside Thamel (far enough to avoid the large tourist crowds and overpriced restaurants), yet close enough to remain convenient. This location allows guests to enjoy a more authentic local Nepali experience. The property itself is excellent: well maintained, very clean, and thoughtfully managed. The staff and management are truly outstanding. Mani and his team provided exceptional service throughout my stay, assisting with transport bookings, offering valuable local recommendations, organizing tours at prices significantly lower than many local agents or online platforms, and taking care of room service, wake-up calls, and much more. What stood out most was how genuinely attentive and approachable the staff were. They consistently checked in about my day and my plans in Kathmandu, clearly demonstrating their commitment to ensuring guests have the best possible experience while exploring their beautiful country. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kathmandu. If I ever return, I will not consider staying anywhere else.

NN SolA great hotel in the heart of the Thamel district. Both the rooms and common areas are decorated in a national style, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The panoramic restaurant on the 7th floor is fantastic – delicious food with a diverse breakfast buffet and an extensive menu for other meals, including both local and European dishes. The hotel also has a very good spa, though it doesn't operate late into the evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend.
