Kathmandu Hotels with Pools

We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. I had the most wonderful experience at Lo Mustang in November 2024. I came to Nepal for a wedding and Anisha at the front desk went above and beyond. Customer service was 10/10. I got recommendations for tailoring, jewelry, dry cleaning, and local dresses with transportation. Deepika, front desk manager, was fantastic always making sure my needs were being met and that my stay was comfortable. The hotel is in the perfect location with great amenities. I initially chose this spot because of the beautiful traditional decor. It was beautiful in person with murals on each floor. Breakfast is fantastic with a roof top view. I booked a second time on my way back home because it was so great. I traveled solo and left with new friends.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, modern facilities, and an elegant ambiance, with superb service. The breakfast spread was particularly impressive, and the staff even prepared a special farewell cake and ceremony. My only regret is that all the surfaces in the room were covered in a layer of dust, despite the overall appearance of cleanliness.

This hotel is quite good, very new, and has a swimming pool with an excellent environment. The room service is great, always available when called. However, the breakfast is very average, comparable to what you'd find in a basic domestic setting. But for just over 500 RMB, it's not expensive, so I recommend staying here. There aren't many food options nearby, and it's mostly a local residential area, but the overall environment is still very pleasant. There's also a gym, and the rooftop bar is particularly relaxing, being an open-air terrace.

My flight arrived in Kathmandu at 10 PM, and immigration took forever, so I didn't get out of the airport until almost 11 PM. I had emailed the hotel in advance to request an airport pick-up. I honestly thought no one would be there given how late it was and the lack of a contact number, but I saw my name card among the crowd waiting for cars at the exit. As a first-time visitor, this was such a pleasant and heartwarming surprise! The car took me to the hotel, which is located in the bustling, central Thamel area. Right downstairs, there's a 'Chengdu Skewers' restaurant. The hotel itself is one of the tallest buildings in the vicinity and boasts a glass-enclosed restaurant on the 12th-floor rooftop, with a pool and spa on the 11th floor – quite a bold design! Breakfast was good, and the service was attentive. The location is convenient; a rickshaw takes just 6 minutes to Durbar Square. The room size was adequate, but I was a bit disappointed to only get a room on the 4th floor after requesting a high-floor room. Also, the bathroom had a strong, foul odor that permeated the room even with the bathroom door closed. This backflow smell seems to be related to the plumbing and hygiene and definitely needs improvement. Other than that, everything else was great!

This is a brand new hotel, located around other nice hotels. The service at Dusit was excellent and the view of the valley from the 12th floor bar was fabulous. Rooms are large and nice and the breakfast is superb. I would like to especially point to the friendly and helpful service staff at the entrance, the check-in counter (especially Mr. Santosh), and at the bar (Mr. Sumit). Highly recommended!

A good hotel, but it doesn't quite live up to 5-star standards yet. There's no sauna or hammam, and the pool is cold 🤪. Breakfast was good, but again, not really 5-star quality. However, everything else was great! The staff were fantastic – very responsive and kind, and they handled all our questions perfectly. It's a cool place overall.

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

The hotel service is very professional, the breakfast is rich, and the front desk service is warm and thoughtful. When I asked for water, it was delivered quickly. There is also a hair dryer in the hotel, and the hot water for bathing is very comfortable. Many Chinese people go to other places to find Chinese food, but they find that the most authentic Chinese food is on the ninth floor above the hotel. And the chocolate brownie here is very authentic. It was supposed to be eaten with ice cream, but I asked for hot ice cream, and the hotel immediately made hot ice cream. There is the largest farmer's market in Kathmandu next to the hotel, and 6 big apples cost less than 20 yuan. You can buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here. Because Kathmandu is often congested, if you connect with a flight, the hotel is very close to the airport, which is another big advantage.
