Kathmandu Hotels with Pools

We just spent five amazing nights at Moxy Kathmandu, and honestly, it was such a great stay. The hotel has this cool, stylish vibe, and everything felt super clean — the rooms were really comfy too. But what really made our trip was the service. The front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were all so welcoming and polite, and their genuine, proactive attitude just warmed our hearts. Special shout-out to Kritan from the restaurant — not only does he speak fluent Chinese and English, but his attentive service and friendly smile were definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Can’t recommend this place enough — easily a 10 out of 10.

I stayed at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu for three nights and had an overall pleasant experience. The hotel is modern, clean, and conveniently located, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Special thanks to Nicha for her excellent service and hospitality. The breakfast was good and met expectations, although the menu remained largely the same throughout my stay. A little more variety would be appreciated for guests staying multiple nights. The gym is well-maintained but quite small, and the operating hours are somewhat limited. The swimming pool is attractive, though it offers limited privacy as it is located next to the restaurant area. Due to my late check-in, I was initially assigned a room on the top floor. The room felt smaller and less comfortable than expected, and I experienced issues with the hot and cold water control. Fortunately, the staff proactively offered a room change, and I was later moved to a room on the fourth floor, which was much more spacious, comfortable, and better equipped. The location is one of the hotel’s strongest points, although traffic noise from the nearby intersection can sometimes be noticeable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the staff’s professionalism and willingness to resolve issues. With its convenient location, clean facilities, and excellent service, I would recommend Hotel Barahi Kathmandu.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, modern facilities, and an elegant ambiance, with superb service. The breakfast spread was particularly impressive, and the staff even prepared a special farewell cake and ceremony. My only regret is that all the surfaces in the room were covered in a layer of dust, despite the overall appearance of cleanliness.

We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. This is a brand new hotel, located around other nice hotels. The service at Dusit was excellent and the view of the valley from the 12th floor bar was fabulous. Rooms are large and nice and the breakfast is superb. I would like to especially point to the friendly and helpful service staff at the entrance, the check-in counter (especially Mr. Santosh), and at the bar (Mr. Sumit). Highly recommended!

This is a newly built hotel, and it's rare to find such clean bathrooms in Nepal. It's located in a quiet spot at the entrance of Thamel, right next to the Garden of Dreams. While it's a bit far from central areas like Durbar Square, it's a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet at the hotel. Since it seems brand new, the room was exceptionally clean. The bathroom was also spotless, so I felt very comfortable using it. The breakfast area on the 8th floor offered a lovely view. The front desk staff were polite, but during breakfast, I noticed other guests were asked for their egg orders, whereas I wasn't (perhaps because I had already taken scrambled eggs). Also, coffee (other than instant) at breakfast was an extra charge.

My flight arrived in Kathmandu at 10 PM, and immigration took forever, so I didn't get out of the airport until almost 11 PM. I had emailed the hotel in advance to request an airport pick-up. I honestly thought no one would be there given how late it was and the lack of a contact number, but I saw my name card among the crowd waiting for cars at the exit. As a first-time visitor, this was such a pleasant and heartwarming surprise! The car took me to the hotel, which is located in the bustling, central Thamel area. Right downstairs, there's a 'Chengdu Skewers' restaurant. The hotel itself is one of the tallest buildings in the vicinity and boasts a glass-enclosed restaurant on the 12th-floor rooftop, with a pool and spa on the 11th floor – quite a bold design! Breakfast was good, and the service was attentive. The location is convenient; a rickshaw takes just 6 minutes to Durbar Square. The room size was adequate, but I was a bit disappointed to only get a room on the 4th floor after requesting a high-floor room. Also, the bathroom had a strong, foul odor that permeated the room even with the bathroom door closed. This backflow smell seems to be related to the plumbing and hygiene and definitely needs improvement. Other than that, everything else was great!

A good hotel, but it doesn't quite live up to 5-star standards yet. There's no sauna or hammam, and the pool is cold 🤪. Breakfast was good, but again, not really 5-star quality. However, everything else was great! The staff were fantastic – very responsive and kind, and they handled all our questions perfectly. It's a cool place overall.

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

The hotel service is very professional, the breakfast is rich, and the front desk service is warm and thoughtful. When I asked for water, it was delivered quickly. There is also a hair dryer in the hotel, and the hot water for bathing is very comfortable. Many Chinese people go to other places to find Chinese food, but they find that the most authentic Chinese food is on the ninth floor above the hotel. And the chocolate brownie here is very authentic. It was supposed to be eaten with ice cream, but I asked for hot ice cream, and the hotel immediately made hot ice cream. There is the largest farmer's market in Kathmandu next to the hotel, and 6 big apples cost less than 20 yuan. You can buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here. Because Kathmandu is often congested, if you connect with a flight, the hotel is very close to the airport, which is another big advantage.
