GGuest UserThis stay was absolutely fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly efficient and welcoming during check-in. They even proactively helped with my luggage and shared tips on lesser-known local attractions. The bedding in the room was made of pure Xinjiang cotton, and the mattress was just the right balance of soft and firm – even insomniacs like me could fall asleep instantly. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the hotel is just a 5-minute walk from a fantastic food street. It's super convenient whether you're traveling for business or leisure. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

The lobby is cozy, the breakfast buffet offers high-quality food, and the late-night snack service is especially heartwarming.
The room is comfortably furnished and very warm. The water pressure is strong, and the water is hot. Even though there's a shower curtain, water barely splashes out, keeping everything clean and nice.

Arrival & First Sniff
This old dog finally flopped down in Jilin City, relieved to rest my paws at the grandly named Song Jiang Bonanza Winning Hotel. “Winning,” I thought—until my non-smoking room greeted me with a stale tobacco haze. One whiff and I nearly cancelled the stay on the spot.
Room Rescue
Cue Mr Hong Dejian—calm, English-speaking, and clutching the keys to redemption. He patiently showed me alternative rooms until we found one that didn’t smell like a poker night. Had I left, I would’ve missed what came next.
Comfort Food = Home
Dinner delivered a miracle: stewed chicken with potatoes and mushrooms. One bite and—boom—mummy’s cooking. After days on the road, I finally found food in China that tasted like home. Tail wagging resumed.
Care Beyond the Call
Mr Hong returned with a portable heater, pointed out city landmarks, and even taught me how to take a non-reflective photo (yes, this dog learns fast). His easy friendliness softened the edges of dirty window panes and mostly Mandarin-only staff. I even showed him the ink-black towel after wiping the window—evidence, not barking.
Menu Meltdown & A Win
At the restaurant, I was handed a Chinese-only menu after saying I don’t speak Mandarin. I hit the roof. To their credit, reception listened: I received a call from the lady boss, and the issue was acknowledged. Then a hero appeared—the restaurant lady, who patiently translated dish names so I could choose lunch and dinner without guesswork. Gold bone earned.
City Interlude: Jilin Catholic Church
Between meals and meetings, I visited Jilin Catholic Church (吉林耶稣圣心堂)—a quiet pause from hotel hiccups. The church offered a moment of stillness, a reminder that even on a bumpy stay, the city holds pockets of grace.
Logistics That Worked
Back at the desk, the reception lady manager efficiently arranged my transport to Wusong Island—quick, competent, and reassuring.
Breakfast & The Fine Print
Breakfast surprised me in the best way: healthy, balanced, a thoughtful mix of local and Western dishes. One final bone to chew—early booking didn’t pay off as prices dropped later. A truly Winning Hotel would honour the lower rate at check-in.
Verdict
Despite communication bumps, this is a solid winter hideout: good Songhua River views, comforting food, and fast service when it counts. It really does take one good sheep—thank you, Mr Hong—to dim the rest of the flaws.

AAnonymous UserWith Longtan Mountain in the back and Songhua River in front, the environment is quiet. During the Spring Festival, the surroundings of the hotel are decorated in a festive atmosphere. The hotel has convenient transportation and is very close to the scenic spot. It is a well-established four-star hotel.

AAllxtThis hotel is excellent! We're foreigners, from Russia, and it was our first time visiting Songhua Lake. The New Story Suite Hotel made us feel right at home. All the staff were incredibly kind. There are so many fun spots in this hotel! Games, karaoke, and a restaurant are all on the -1 floor. I have three kids, so there were plenty of things for them to do. It was super convenient to bring the children here.
My favorite part was the massage. I especially loved Mr. He (He Ruiyou). His hands are truly amazing!
We'll definitely stay here again next time!

We stayed at this hotel during the New Year holidays with our large family (5 people: 2 adults and three children).
We rented a large room, which was cozy and clean. We all felt comfortable in this spacious room, and there were enough beds for everyone.
We loved everything about this hotel: the friendly staff, and the cleanliness was top-notch – we walked barefoot in the room. You can request room cleaning as needed.
Downstairs, there's a hot water pool. The water is changed every three days.
But what I liked most was the Tesla shuttle service to the mountain.
And the most wonderful thing about this excellent hotel is the masseur He Ruiyou (that's his name in Chinese). After a day on the slopes, a massage from Mr. He is exactly what you need. He is the best masseur I've ever encountered.

The space is spacious and bright, the decoration is exquisite and stylish, the theme style is distinctive and not exaggerated, and the visual comfort is full. The bedroom is quiet and soundproof, there is no need to worry about being disturbed, and the quality of sleep is directly improved. The living room area is spacious, the sofa is soft and comfortable, whether it is rest or chatting, it is super comfortable. The supporting facilities are complete, TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi are super powerful, and it is particularly convenient to use. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and the sink is spacious. The sanitation is spotless, the corners are clean, the details control is super satisfied, the price is super high, and the eyes are closed!
