Amazing
VvicchenggWe enjoyed our stay at the Maldron and felt it was great value overall. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance but also slightly away from the main high street so it was nice and peaceful at night. There were also loads of excellent restaurants and coffee shops within a few hundred meters of the hotel, offering loads of cuisine choices. The staff were very helpful and friendly. When we arrived, I realised I had accidentally booked one of our rooms as a double room when we needed a twin. After just a quick call to reception the staff found us a twin room within minutes, and were even mindful of keeping our families on the same floor for convenience which we hugely appreciated. The rooms themselves were very clean, modern and spacious enough for the two of us and our suitcases. The sound proofing was pretty decent too, and there was minimal noise from the corridor/outside apart from a few doors banging in the morning as guests left. Other highlights include: a very good shower where you can switch between a rainfall + handheld head, plugs on both sides of the bed (an essential these days!) and a comfortable bed. The TV system is a little dated in my opinion, however it does allow casting which was a bonus. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel for a mid-low budget stay.
BBeth.BenWe had stayed here for two nights, I can't comment on the food/drink as we went out as most places were a short walk away. The location was very good with being a short walk to Glasgow Central train station and city centre.
Reception staff were friendly checking in, however the room we were given had not been cleaned... Went back to reception and they had apologised and changed our room with a slight upgrade.
This room was immaculate and all the amenities gave it that little bit extra luxurious touch; use of a cosy white robe, slippers, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. I loved the sustainability efforts with their toiletries being plant based and vegan friendly! The bathroom had a rain shower with really good pressure and easily enough to control and a bathtub.
The only cons were there was a small towel rail in the bathroom which was a slight struggle to fit them on to dry.
The TV in the bedroom area did not work and we only found this out on our last night.
There was only one lift operating and the other one was out of service, so best to leave anywhere in plenty of time.
GGuest UserThe hotel was perfect from the friendly reception staff on arrival to the breakfast the following morning.
The room was immaculate, not new and sparkly, but tastefully decorated with quality well maintained equipment, fittings and furnishings.
All the basics, bed, shower, toilet and basin worked and performed superbly.
Bedding, covers, sheets and pillows were pristine, crisp, and the mattress was exceedingly comfortable.
Plenty of hanging space, iron and board, hairdryer and fridge. Spotlessly clean.
Service for breakfast was unusually efficient for a large hotel. They knew exactly how to cope with a busy breakfast service. Buffet for drinks and cold items, service for Cooked. The full scottish breakfast kept me going all day.
Will definitely return to this hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel is right next to the subway, and it's also very convenient to walk to Central Station and Queen Street Station. The apartment-style rooms are suitable for all types of travelers, especially with a kitchen available (the only downside is no cooking oil or seasonings). During our stay, we experienced two fire alarms (once in the room, once for the entire building). Perhaps due to the language barrier, the response didn't seem very well handled. Guests spontaneously moved outside the building, and because it was so sudden, we weren't dressed warmly enough. We saw some people with emergency blankets, but we didn't know how to get one. Hotel staff came out and said they needed to wait to confirm the source of the alarm, but afterward, we just saw other guests returning to the hotel and followed them back. We never found out what happened until we checked out. Other than that, everything else was good, and I still recommend choosing them.
GGuest UserBeautiful hotel was my partners birthday and the kind guy Angus at reception upgraded our room and give us a late check out and 2 complimentary drinks so thank you very much, it’s right in the middle of the town with everything all around you rooms are beautiful beds so comfy did get up once and that’s unusual for me haha would definitely book this hotel again
GGuest UserI really enjoyed my stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. The hotel’s location is excellent — right in the heart of the city, making it easy to get around on foot or by transport. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the overall experience very pleasant.
One small area for improvement would be the in-room amenities. It would have been convenient to have items like a luggage scale or even a bathroom scale available, which are often handy for travelers.
Overall, the combination of great location, professional staff, and comfortable facilities makes this a solid choice for a stay in Glasgow.
RRRosssWe stayed at Sandman for its proximity to Hydro for a concert. In that regard the location was good, an easy 20 minute walk. Glasgow is super hilly so be aware if you’re walking anywhere. The hotel was very good, excellent breakfast, superb nice staff. Clean rooms, fit my family of 4 well enough!
GGuest UserI stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC on 13 February for a gig over at the OVO Hydro. From the moment I stepped into the hotel I was impressed.
A special mention has to go to Sarah in Reception who made my stay extra special with a drink voucher and upgrade to a corner room which I was delighted about.
The hotel is ideally located for those attending events at the OVO Hydro and SEC venues - it’s literally across the road and a 2-5 minute walk!
The room overlooked both the OVO Hydro and the world-famous crane, a Glasgow icon. It was clean, well-presented and I liked the extra touch of having a hairdryer in-room as well as an ice bucket for bubbles, and the obligatory tea/coffee. The bed was comfortable and I had a rested sleep in it, and the shower works really well.
I will 100% return to this hotel and hopefully will be treated like a well-valued guest again!
GGuest UserParking out the back with a tunnel to walk through to reception. Pay for parking when checking out.
Our twin room was comfortable, and perfectly adequate for one night.
The location is actually great, right next to the sec , and plenty of options for getting into town.
It's a big hotel, so lobby and bar were buzzing at all times.
BBee HoonWe stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.
