4-Star Hotels in Surabaya

We had a very pleasant stay at Aloft Surabaya Pakuwon. The hotel is new, modern, and very well maintained, with clean rooms and excellent facilities. The bed was very comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of food. A special thank you to Mr. Arul, who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. His warm hospitality made our experience even more enjoyable. The 24-hour gym is a great bonus for guests who like to work out at any time of the day. One thing to note is the location. The hotel is next to Pakuwon City Mall, which is different from Pakuwon Mall. If your main destination is Pakuwon Mall, expect about a 40-minute Grab ride depending on traffic. Overall, we had a great experience at Aloft Surabaya. The comfortable rooms, excellent service, and modern facilities make it a hotel I would happily recommend and stay at again.

The hotel is great, with kid-friendly facilities and a complete breakfast. The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the mall.

Thanks for the nice room and hospitality 👍👍 my room was not big but very functional. It got fridge, safe box, smart TV, electric kettle. The hotel even have infinite pool and bar on rooftop! Breakfast was very nice and lots of variations. Only minus part, the road right in front of the hotel can get (very) conjuncted sometimes, on busy hours. So you have to plan ahead to avoid those hours.

Excellent value for money! I stayed in Surabaya for over 10 days and tried several hotels, and this one truly stands out for its breakfast quality. They offer a wide variety of fruits, various local desserts (though I didn't quite dare to try them), and even ice cream. What I particularly loved, though, was the daily availability of hot ginger and hot cinnamon tea.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights. Overall, the stay was fine, but my experience at check-in could have been much better. I arrived earlier than the standard check-in time and was informed that early check-in would require an additional charge. I explained that I had just completed a long journey and was hoping for some flexibility, but the receptionist insisted that check-in was only available at 2:00 PM. Fortunately, after waiting for some time, they eventually allowed me to check in earlier. I understand that hotels have policies regarding check-in times. However, I believe a more flexible and customer-oriented approach, especially when rooms are already available, would greatly improve the guest experience. Many other hotels are able to accommodate such requests without unnecessary rigidity. I hope the hotel will consider providing more flexible and welcoming service in the future.

The room could use a proper deep clean as you can see grime in places like the shower head or the toilet flush but overall it was a nice suite. The complimentary drinks and snacks were very generous. The breakfast boxes were great and the laundry was fast and effective but I realized later that they didn’t return my laundry bag which was disappointing. Also it took a long time for the reception to confirm whether they could get my laundry done within 14 hours and they passed me along to a lot of different people to confirm that.

We enjoy our stay here. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food for breakfast is variety and delicious. The location is strategic, near the mall and hot spot around surabaya. Would absolutely recommend this hotel.

This is my second time here. The staff are genuinely nice and will greet you every single time. I had an issue with the aircon not being cold enough. The technician, front desk are all very patient and attentive to my request. Reaction was quick and I also had a room change. The room is very spacious with a great view of the city. Amenities aplenty and will cater to your needs. I had a good three nights rest and a wonderful stay here. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Before I begin the review, let me say that the front desk staff of the hotel have been extremely understanding and accomodating. They ensured most of my complaints were addressed. So this review isn't a reflection on them. They graciously changed my room three times due to the following issues I faced. But having said that, the hotel itself is a disaster. The walls were essentially thin cardboard and you could hear everything from the adjacent rooms - from people coughing their lungs out, sneezing, talking to ********** - literally everything. In the bathroom you hear some continuously banging noise coming from somewhere as if there is construction going on - maybe it's from the plumbing. You surely need ear plugs if you decide to get a good night's rest. There were mosquitos in the room I was given on the first night. There was also no hot water in the bathroom at night. It was at best luke-warm. The safe was not working and the sheets and pillow covers were stained. The couch was stained. The worst part about the first room was a serious hygeine issue. The commodes have a retractable bidet. It was covered in faeces. It was too disgusting to take a picture of but I showed it to the manager. After I complained they changed the room but I couldn't sleep properly because of loud neighbours in the adjacent room. You can also see from the pictures that the rooms aren't maintained well. There's water seepage and damaged furniture. I had to request a change of room again but even this room had loud neighbours and a poorly cleaned bathroom with hair everywhere. I just cleaned it myself and adjusted as this was my last night of the stay. I ended up staying in 3 different rooms during my 3 night stay. This hotel needs to be shut down and renovated. They first need to build proper walls in between rooms. Their housekeeping staff also needs proper training.

Before I review I want to say all the staff were kind friendly and very helpful. If this review was about the staff you would have 100%. My problem is with the fabric of the hotel. It is dirty , shabby and living in the past. The first entertainment hotel in the city. Looking at it it was probably the last time it was refurbished. I feel that the staff put on a brave face and they are professional in their duties. Entering my room the sheets were grey had holes and stained. If you use an external laundry and hire your linen someone needs to change your contract!! Grey is not white. The walls are covered in hardboard and are dirty. Shower and toilet ok. Fire door did not self close. Hole in the wall where the self closer keeps hitting it. If this is a four star hotel it’s the staff who are keeping it there, a review though in my opinion would drop you to two stars at the best!! The owners need to reinvest!!
