4-Star Hotels in Yokohama

The accommodation was spacious and clean, but the worst part was the sheer number of mosquitoes downstairs. They even got into the elevator! I've never seen so many mosquitoes in Japan before.

Had a very pleasant stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yokohama-Koen. The location is excellent—very convenient and within walking distance to Yokohama Stadium, Chinatown, and public transport, making it easy to explore the area. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the essentials. The bed was cozy, and the overall space was well-maintained. Staff were polite, professional, and efficient during both check-in and check-out. Amenities were sufficient, and everything felt organized and hassle-free. Overall, a great balance of comfort, location, and value for money. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Yokohama!

This small hotel is very new and ideally located right in Chinatown, close to the subway. The bathroom has a great separate wet/dry area, and the water pressure is excellent. Having two double beds is a generous touch. However, since the hotel is quite new, the smell from the furniture and decor was noticeable to me. The room felt sealed off, with no way to get fresh air. Being street-facing, the window soundproofing wasn't great, leading to a bit of noise. Also, I felt the bedding had a slight, not-so-obvious odor, almost as if it hadn't been changed promptly, but I'm not certain. It's decent for a temporary stay.

Overall, a pleasant stay. The bed is extremely comfy. Having three pillows is a plus. Compared to the conventional hotel in Tokyo, this hotel is relatively large for this standard. The view from the hotel is decent. It’s wished that there are washing machines available. One critical thing is that the room is quite dusty though… You can see the dust floating under the light at the entrance. As for the transportation, it’s around a 3-4 minute walk from Shin-Takashima station (an extra 210yen if you depart from Yokohama station). You can also walk from Yokohama station, but it takes around 15 minutes (and drains quite a lot of stamina if you are carrying your luggage around) The area around the hotel is quite modern but not overwhelming crowded (maybe there wasn’t a concert at KT Zepp Yokohama during my stay at the hotel). There is two 711 nearby and a small-scale food court as well. Other than that, there are not much to shop nearby. In a nutshell, a good hotel with a quiet but not intimidating ambience at night. A less dusty room would be highly appreciated. The location is good enough if paying a 420 yen-round trip everyday for one stop from Yokohama is not financially burdening to you.

The hotel is very close to Shin-Yokohama Station, making it a great choice if you're taking the Shinkansen to Kyoto or Osaka. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the Japanese-style set breakfast is a unique touch.

The hotel's location is unbeatable, right next to Chinatown, making it incredibly convenient for dining. The beds in the rooms are quite large, unlike typical twin beds. Although the hotel is a bit old, the cleanliness is decent. However, on our last night, around 4 AM, a drunk Japanese guest tried to open our room door. While they didn't succeed, it genuinely scared us. We immediately reported it to housekeeping, asking them to check the surveillance cameras. Housekeeping initially said the cameras couldn't see that area. Since it was still early morning, we decided to address it again at check-out the next day. When we checked out, we raised the issue once more. The front desk assistant manager, a woman named Junko, handled our complaint very seriously. Her English was excellent. I insisted that the cameras be checked immediately. When we returned from dinner, she confirmed it was a drunk Japanese guest. Regardless of whether that's true or not, I appreciated her positive attitude. Everyone knows Japanese people enjoy drinking, and I just wanted to bring this to the hotel's attention, hoping they'll take incidents involving intoxicated guests trying to open random doors seriously to prevent them from happening again!

The location was good in Yokohama, but I found out when I got there that the amusement park in front was closed. I didn't have enough information in advance. It was good value for money considering the cost of hot springs + lodging + breakfast. Dinner was also delicious and ate to my heart's content for about 100,000 won for 4 people. The hot spring facilities seemed a bit old, but they seemed well-maintained. The staff were friendly, and there was a shuttle bus to Yokohama, so it would be good to check in advance.

As a hotel, there is nothing to complain about. As for the location, the fact that there is nothing worth seeing in the surrounding facilities is expected and is not a minus point, but there is nothing within walking distance, and even if you go out for a quick walk or to find a convenience store, there is only an industrial road and factories. I think people who stay at this hotel understand this, but the walks around the hotel, which add a touch of glamour to a trip, are extremely boring, and that is the only place I always end up disappointed.
