This was my second stay at Hotel Monterry LaSeour. My first visit was in October last year, and I enjoyed it so much that I specifically recommended the hotel to my sister and chose to stay here again during this trip. My recent experience was overshadowed by an extremely unpleasant interaction with a front desk employee. He was a larger-built male of Indian/Nepali appearance who was working at the front desk on 25 June, between approximately 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. He appeared to be intentionally covering his name tag, so I was unable to identify him, although based on his signature on my check in document his name makes out to be ”Jeey”. I arrived at the hotel around 12:00–1:00 PM after checking out of another hotel in Tokyo which was such a pleasant experience. I was fully aware that check-in was not until 3:00 PM and simply wanted to store my luggage before returning later. The staff asked for our passports and then informed me that check-in was at 3:00 PM. I explained that I understood and only wished to leave my luggage. He offered no further assistance or response however another female staff member stepped in, helped with our luggage, and provided a luggage tag. When I returned around 3:00 PM, the same employee assisted me again. Despite having interacted with me only a few hours earlier, there was no greeting or acknowledgment. Instead, he immediately asked for our passports again. After handing them over, he said, “Give me your luggage tag—you can take back your passports,” while merely pointing to them on the counter beside him rather than handing them back to me. The check-in process became even more irritating when I was completing my registration details on the screen. The employee repeatedly tapped his pen impatiently against the screen and used the pen to point at various fields while giving instructions. At one point, he pointed the pen directly toward my sister, who was sitting only a few metres away in the small lobby area, saying, “Her name here,” while continuing to tap the screen multiple times. His mannerisms were impatient, condescending, unprofessional and downright rude. What was particularly alarming was what happened next. An elderly Japanese gentleman approached the reception desk to check in, and I witnessed an immediate and noticeable change in this employee's demeanour. He suddenly became warm, welcoming, polite, and attentive speaking in Japanese —while I was still standing there completing my check-in. The contrast was striking and left me feeling dismissed, even my sister could see the difference. I am giving a 1 star because of this staff member ”Jeey”, all other staff members were courteous and polite. Some other points to note - cleanliness was not there, the cup in the room was not washed and had dry coffee in it. Bath towels had a strange smell to them. Also, this time around, I asked to borrow an iron and while the staff not rush me to return it in 15 minutes (see the photo) since no one was asking for it - I find it super odd that there was a 15 mins limit and guests have to return it to the front desk after.

The location is good, right near Ginza 2-chome. However, you have to walk about 7-8 minutes to get to any subway station, and Tokyo in the summer is incredibly hot, so you'll be sweating after just a couple of steps. Remember to protect yourself from the sun and heat! Check-in is on the third floor, and they offer free coffee every day from 2 PM to 11 PM. The chocolate and matcha lattes are delicious. Our two large suitcases fit and could even be laid flat in the room. The room itself was clean, hygienic, and had no strange smells. You don't need to bring toiletries as you can pick them up at the front desk. Plus, there's a Starbucks, convenience store, and a drugstore downstairs.

Location of the hotel is excellent and is within close proximity to major establishments/shopping areas in the Ginza area. There is a convenient store (”Natural Lawson”) on the ground floor of the building. I booked the Standard Room with Queen Bed as I was worried that the Standard Room with Single Bed would be too cramped. I'm glad I made that decision. At about 20sq.m., the room is spacious and comfortable enough for one person but may be slightly cramped for a couple. Then again, hotel rooms in Japan tend to be small in general. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the amenities were sufficient. The lobby of the hotel is located on the 16/F of the building, and the guestrooms are located from 17/F up, so you get a very nice view of the Ginza area. I didn't try the breakfast on this trip, but I've heard nice things about that. Will definitely try that next time. Recommended.

I stayed here on my first trip to Japan last year, and I chose it again this time when traveling with family. The price is good, the location is convenient, and it's just a few minutes' walk to Tsukiji Market downstairs, which is really handy. It's also a 6-minute walk to the subway station. Another great perk: Japan has strict smoking laws, but this hotel has a smoking area just outside the back door downstairs. Super convenient!

Right at the doorstep, you'll find a food street and a 7-Eleven, which is super convenient for late-night snacks. The lobby is on the second floor, so it can get a bit noisy when passing by at night, but once you're on your room floor, it's completely quiet. The soundproofing is excellent! The room is very clean, and the layout and design are well-thought-out. The tatami mat is great, and the speaker in the room has fantastic sound quality!

The room was pretty standard, but larger than typical Japanese rooms. The 1.40-meter bed was spacious enough for two people. The staff were all very polite; only one person spoke Chinese, so we relied on English for communication with the others. The location was also excellent, making it very convenient for shopping in Ginza.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center and within walking distance of Ginza. Subway access nearby also makes transportation very convenient. The lobby staff were very accommodating, and I'd especially like to commend the following front desk personnel: NAKATA and SEKIMOTO. They were professional, efficient, and thoughtfully assigned a suitable room based on my needs. The Bell Staff, ABE, was gentle, attentive, and friendly. The housekeeping staff were also very efficient, delivering water promptly, ensuring the room was well-stocked with amenities, and keeping it impeccably clean. All of the above staff made us feel the brand image that the Imperial Hotel should embody, and we'd like to extend our special praise! The room was very clean. Although it's an older hotel, there were no issues with outdated facilities or poor maintenance. The entire room felt very comfortable, natural, and clean. The air conditioning was excellent – very quiet, almost imperceptible, with no direct draft and no noise. The temperature was naturally comfortable. I've stayed in many five-star hotels, and this level of performance is superb, reflecting a discreet, natural, and understated elegance. The two power outlets by the bedside were convenient and practical; they're two-prong, so my iPhone could be charged without an adapter. The automatic curtains, minibar, sofa and small table, and writing desk were all well-arranged and easy to use. Overall, a five-star rating. I booked several nights this time and look forward to enjoying every day. I will definitely choose this hotel again in the future.

We were a group of five, two families, and booked two rooms. The standard double room wasn't huge but was clean enough, and the hotel's toiletries were good. Breakfast was a bit simple with limited variety, but the service was good. It's about a ten-minute walk to Ginza, and the surrounding area is very lively. Overall, highly recommended, especially the triple room which offers great value for money!

This hotel, which I've stayed at multiple times for business trips to Tokyo, is definitely worth recommending. The cleanliness and service are, of course, top-notch. One of the reasons it's so recommendable is its location. Higashi-Ginza, oh my, it's just a short walk to the bustling Ginza district. There are direct trains from both Haneda and Narita airports. Downstairs, you'll find many restaurants popular with locals. It's also less than a five-minute walk to Godaime Hanayama Udon. Another reason to recommend it is the breakfast. They offer Western breakfast (you can choose between pancakes and croissants) and shabu-shabu with Yonezawa pork. Vegetarians can also enjoy a tofu hot pot. It's just perfect! The third reason is the skincare products provided by the front desk – they're really good! They're very moisturizing and absorb well into the skin. However, skincare is subjective, so this is just for your reference.
