Ffapp7The hotel is located pretty much at the entrance of Gubei Watertown. It is not quite a hotel, it’s more like an airbnb.
We couldn’t find the front desk so we had to call to service. He picked us up where we were standing and walked us to the room. If you don’t speak Chinese you may try to use WeChat and chat with them.
The room was a 2 floors apartment, with a little balcony with view to the Great Wall. It is a pretty standard room.
Advice to bring your shampoo and soap, the products in the shower were smelling super bad.
Around the building there are some food options and also a little grocery store.

FFengfupiaofangAfter a 3-hour train journey, we finally arrived at Gubei Water Town. This villa, located just outside the scenic area, was much better than we expected. It offered exceptional value for money, with high-quality rooms at a very affordable price. The outdoor environment was equally stunning. From the balcony during the day, we enjoyed views of blue skies and white clouds, and at breakfast, we could watch the sunrise through the balcony window. Inside, the decor was very elegant. Every detail, from the wall hangings, curtains, and table lamps, to the small cabinet leading to the balcony and even the table runners, contributed to a cozy yet artistic ambiance. They also paid attention to family-friendly details, providing a tent, a small slide with steps in the outdoor yard, and round tables and chairs both in the yard and on the balcony. Ordering takeout was also very convenient. In the evening, we enjoyed the night view from across the way; the highest, continuous stream of lights must have been the Simatai Great Wall. The nights were incredibly quiet. I even extended my stay by another night, and honestly, if I didn't have to head back for the weekend, I would have gladly stayed for several more days.

GGuest UserI came here with my friends and kids on the weekend. It was a very good stay. The apartment is very close to the scenic spot, just a few minutes' walk. If you drive, please contact us in advance. There is a parking space downstairs. The apartment belongs to Longhu Villa. The environment is very good. I booked two king-size rooms. The room is very large with a balcony. The balcony can see the night view of the Great Wall of Water and the drone show. It is super beautiful. You can take a walk in the community at night. There are restaurants and supermarkets outside the community. It is very convenient

On request they would give us breakfast and dinner, even if not many option were available all we tried was good especially baozi for breakfast.
We were located on the 2nd floor of their house it seemed a real local experience. Unfortunately our Chinese is very poor.

GGuest UserHere I am again, staying at this hotel. It's spotlessly clean, and the facilities are brand new. It's only about 200-300 meters from Gubei Water Town. My kids absolutely loved the family-themed room and started playing as soon as we arrived. A big thank you to our butler, Xiao Wang, for the thoughtful service and for arranging a room with a direct view of the Simatai Great Wall and the Water Town scenery from the window. It was a fantastic experience!

KKATSHAHAThe accommodation has 2 floors, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. The ground floor is a living room with a sofa, TV, and kitchenware.
The room has air conditioning, heater, and a water heater. At this cheap price, it is worth it.
The location is about 600 to 700 meters from the ticket booth, quite a walk.
Convenience in the room: Not enough towels. The day I checked in, the toilet was clogged, but the auntie was very kind and fixed it for me. There is no bottled water here. I bought it myself. Waitsan is not far in front.
Another disadvantage: I went during the low season. The auntie was confused and asked me to pay 10 yuan per person to go to the police station to report a foreigner staying there. But, but, but, when I got to the police station, she told me that the room owner could register via QR code or application. That is, I wasted my money and time. It took a long time to register because the auntie was not skilled. But it was fun. It was a new experience, but a waste of time.

XXiaotaiyangxiaIt is very convenient to travel by car with the elderly, children and dogs. It is located halfway up the mountain next to Gubei Water Town. The housekeeper registered the car in advance, so the car can be parked directly downstairs. The room is large and comfortable, and the children are also very happy.

GGuest UserThe house is very nice, with complete facilities. You can sing karaoke and play billiards on the first floor. There is a heated swimming pool. There are game consoles on the second floor. My father and I had a lot of fun. If the schedule was not so tight, the child would have wanted to stay here for another day. The boss is also very nice. Not only did he help me book tickets for the night tour of the Great Wall, he also sent back the walnuts that were left at the B&B. He was very patient throughout the whole process.

JJingjing JennyThis is my fourth time to Gubei, but it is my first time to stay outside the scenic area. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the hotels in the scenic area are not cost-effective. After choosing and choosing, I chose this two-story loft villa with a courtyard, which is suitable in terms of evaluation, room type, distance and price.
The front desk lady and the housekeeper uncle are very enthusiastic. They contacted in advance and provided thoughtful services. The room is clean and hygienic. I have to say that if there is no need to go in and out of the scenic area many times, staying in this Nordic forest holiday villa very close to the scenic area is indeed a very good choice.
For the needs of traveling with elderly people and children, compared with the scenic area hotel, the advantages here are: 1. There are microwave ovens, refrigerators, induction cookers, and you can cook with your own ingredients, and there is no problem heating milk for children. 2. The space is large, with a living room, kitchen, dining room and a small courtyard downstairs, and two bedrooms, bathrooms and a children's tent area upstairs, which fully meet the needs of eating and resting independently when traveling with elderly people and children. 3. The scenic spots in the scenic area are relatively repeated. Climbing the Simatai Great Wall at night is enough to visit the scenic area from noon to night.
If I come again next time, I will choose here again

EEryufengThe room was very well furnished and fully equipped, and overall I was satisfied. However, the walk from Parking Lot 1 to the room was at least 1.3 kilometers, and there was no shuttle. This was quite disappointing for us, exhausted from climbing the Great Wall. The shuttle service cost 30 yuan per trip, but on the last day, they called to inform us that they couldn't help with our luggage, which was a real problem for families traveling with large luggage.
