Given the reviews, I was not keen to stay here, but thanks to Ajax v Napoli there were no others available. To sum up, this isn't a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is a 3 star hotel. Positives: - Location is superb - Architecturally stunning building - Large room (in my case, at least) - WiFi speeds are good. I was able to do video meetings from my room - Staff were pleasant and friendly Negatives: - Inside, the hotel is dark and in a state of disrepair - The kitchen closes early, and room service appears to not be possible. I was told that I should download Uber Eats if I wanted food after 10pm. - The room is tidy, but basic areas like around the sinks, bath, windows and TV were dirty - There is a smell of sewage that comes from the shower drain - The majority of channels on the TV are unavailable - There is no air conditioning. I had 2 tower fans in my room, and I had to use them both just to stay cool - No help with luggage, not that I couldn't manage myself - You get a bottle of water on the table when you check in. I had some the first night because it was so hot in the room. The second night when I was working late, I turned to open my fresh bottle. Nope! Same half empty bottle, had just been moved back to the table again. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel! Stay somewhere else. A few weeks earlier, I stayed in the Sofitel Legend. THAT is a 5 star hotel.

I stayed her maybe 4 hours we went to sleep and then at 3 o’clock in the morning my friend woke me up because they’re was a gnawing sound/ I quickly turned on the lights , the bag of crisps my friends were eating that night had a rat inside . When I turned on the lights it ran across the table were our heads were facing and ran under the bed . My friends were screaming we went down to reception no shoes in no phones ran down. The receptionist went to check our room and placed us in a new one . We were on the top floor when this occurred they need placed us on a room on the lowest floor. If there is rats on the top floor the bottom floor would be cover with them . It was now 4 o’clock and we were afraid to get in the beds . We didn’t sleep and at 8 o’clock they told us we should go have breakfast I was gagging thinking about even eating in this hotel . We went to eat in McDonald’s to eat breakfast out of disgust of this place . Hotel Multatuli is disgusting. The manager Walter Barboza tried to give us only half of our money back as we stayed the night and of course we said we had no choice but to a stay he then gave us the full refund but it will not go into our account until 3 days and that means we have no money and no accommodation. He was no help in this situation he said that we should call our parents for help . That is ridiculous he offered us a hotel that we couldn’t not afford and then said we could continue to stay in this hotel but would have to pay for it I am extremely upset and now have lost a day of my hoilday trying to find somewhere to sleep. I strongly suggest no one stays in this hotel . Please do not eat here

This was my 2nd stay at this hotel within 1 week. Extremely happy with the service, the friendliness, the cleanliness and the general atmosphere of this hotel. Larissa at reception is the friendliest and obliging reception I have ever encountered. Vincent the maintenence man is extremely helpful with tips abt Amsterdam city and of course if anything needs to be done. The manager is helpful and always willing to answer many questions and give correct advice. To sum up I highly recommend this hotel for short or long stay. Very well priced with excellent service.

We spent 5 nights in the spa room on the top floor and had a great time. the location is within walking distance of everything that we wanted to see with lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. As almost everyone else reports, there is a lot of noise from the street but since everything closed down at midnight it wasn't too bad and it's really just the bustle of people not the noise of drunken brawls. the breakfast was at a nearby restaurant and was superb. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The spa bath was nice to relax in after a long day of walking and eating and drinking!

Art'otel is a family friendly hotel. It is centrally located and very close to the train station. We took the train from the airport to central station. The hotel was within a 5 minute walk. They let us check in early as our flight landed there in the morning. The hotel was very clean. The staff were very friendly and gave us great service. Breakfast was very good with a variety of options. Excellent espresso! We were able to walk to many of the attractions.

The hotel is small, but the service is good. The location is very good, just a short walk from the Central Station. Breakfast is good. A variety of coffee and tea are provided free of charge throughout the day in the restaurant. Thank you very much for the staff on duty on the evening of September 4th. When our mobile phone was not sure whether it was left in a restaurant on the other side of the river, he helped us to contact us and retrieved the mobile phone. I will choose this hotel next time I go to Amsterdam.

The hotel is not far from the station, the road is very flat, easy to walk there. The room is nice, nothing wrong except the price is expensive. There is a long queue of locals nearby to buy ice cream.

Super duper close to Amsterdam Centraal station and there are buses and trams nearby. Just a 10-15 min walk to the ******************s and de Bijenkorf shopping mall. We said we didn't want end rooms but got arranged to one when we checked in... The view was nice with a balcony (but it's locked so you can't go outside) but my partner did not feel comfortable with end rooms. Eventually we called down to the front desk for a room and they changed us to a room nearer to the lifts. One thing I really liked about the hotel is that they use WhatsApp for requesting for amenities and checking out. It's convenient and simple to use but somehow... The housekeeping keeps on getting 1 or 2 items wrong lol Oh and please note that they don't provide bottled water, the whole city is proud of their tap water and the receptionist said it's safe to drink. If tap water isn't to your liking, there are quite a few stores nearby to buy mineral water. I would recommend going to Albert Heijn or Dirk for those. Slippers are provided in this hotel.
