Hotels near Masjid Baiturrahim in Batam

Here annually, because of its superb location - near a large mall, near several massage centres (my perennial favourite being Thai best), near several excellent food places (must check out Mickey Mouse 66, as well as the coffee shops in its vicinity), near several wholesale shops but they do sell individual items (fantastic branded knock-offs at fantastic prices). As for the hotel itself, rooms are large; with basic amenities and free mineral water. Concierge is reliably helpful, friendly and efficient. Receptionists (same air of sulkiness, whoever is manning the station, whatever time) and buffet breakfasts (why eat here when there are superb choices nearby) are consistently below average, whether the hotel was “Gideon” or is “Gideon by Aston”.

Breakfast was good, variety was ok on the weekend, however need improve the variety bfast on weekday. We stayed for 5 Night on 14 - 19 Oct and staff were also very friendly, courteous and helpful, especially for Rafft for making our stay extra enjoyable with his great service. Comfy bed, and big bathroom. the location of the hotel is very strategic in the city center and if you want to go to the mall or look for other food options it's only walking distance.

Wonderful apartment. Very clean and worth the price. The ambiance of the hotel is simply breathtaking. The elegant décor, tasteful furnishings, and attention to detail create an atmosphere of sophistication and luxury. Everywhere I looked, from the stylish lounge areas to the meticulously landscaped gardens, there was an air of refinement that made me feel pampered and relaxed. The room itself was a haven of comfort and tranquility. Spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed, it provided everything I needed for a truly rejuvenating stay. The plush bedding ensured a restful night’s sleep, while the modern amenities, including a state-of-the-art entertainment system and high-speed internet access, catered to my every convenience.

We stayed as a family of 3 for 2 nights. The room was clean and neat. Check in was fast and hassle free. The staff were helpful and friendly. Location of the villa is good, walking distance to nearby seafood restaurant. Distance to shopping malls is not too far too as you can easily get a Gojek there. It is around 6km to BCS mall and A2 food court. One down side I feel was the lack of variety for the breakfast, it would be good if there is buffet spread. The music from the neighbouring cafe/pub was pretty loud till which could disturb guests who may be there to chill n relax. It didn't bother me very much probably I was tired out so slept pretty well. Overall a pleasant experience staying in this resort. Highly recommended for couples who wish to have a romantic getaway.

Sahid Batam Center Hotel & Convention is having a good advantage on location, located in the heart of Batam Center, where luxury and homey abound. It is an old hotel, but it is well maintained and it is connected to a modern life style, near local culinary and having a good entertainment with roof top bar. The staffs are giving a good hospitality and helpful. Sahid Batam Center hotel could fit for business and personal use. Over all, Sahid Batam Center Hotel & Convention is a good hotel to stay. I don’t give 1/5 reviews. I am only triggered when the cleanliness and hygiene is an issue. This hotel gave me a room that I had to walk through a smoke reeked corridor. When I went into the room, I got a room that had so much wordless shakes than nods of approval. 1) Toilet was not clean. There was mold. 2) Room had to be “perfumed” with a packet of something hanging on the air con duct 3) ALL the towels in the room were stained. Asked for a new set and it was STILL stained 😳. 4) No shampoo as a 4 star hotel. 5) Recycled bed room slippers ( of which I am fine ) but it was stained with dubious stuff. 6) Room picture hangs precariously over my head. 7) The extra bed I paid extra for came without a bed frame and was placed on the floor. Housekeeping said it is like that 😵‍💫 Management has to do something. The poor housekeeping got a hard time from me 🙏🏻

Stayed 2 nights at the one @komplek baloi. Good location, near 2 shopping mall (BCS mall and Grand Batam mall). Outside the hotel there are many eateries, some are outdoor tents and there's also outdoor food court. Massage places are many around this hotel also. Convenience store also available across the street. The hotel is quite new, but the bedsheet a bit yellowish and saw stain at the corner. When i requested to change the bedsheet next day (by putting the card), they didn't do it because saw the same stain at the same spot. Came 2pm for check-in but the room still not ready yet, so waited at the lobby. There were no hand towel provided, called the housekeeping and they only gave face towel. Breakfast spread quite good, but taste average. They allowed for late checkout at 1pm.

The hotel is located at a good location, just walking straight will reach Grand Batam Mall. Nearby across the road there are many eateries and Grand Batam Mall further down there is a good seafood restaurant as well. The air conditioner is not too good as there is water dripping that happened twice during the stay. First time the maintenance came and never did anything. 2 round the ppl cleaned the tubing and cleaned up the water that dripped on the floor. Moreover he was very polite and provided an additional floor map for me. Thanks to the 2nd technician. The reception staff are all nice and polite. Buffet average, we ate one day and another day chose to eat out.

Stayed between 12 - 14 Dec 2022. The hotel is about 5 mins walk away from Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal. There are 2 Circle K across the hotel and the stretch of seaside restaurants (Wey Wey, Alco) is about 2 mins away. Nearest supermarket, Go Go Supermart is located approximately 5 mins walk away from the hotel, located beside Swiss-Bell Hotel and underneath the defunct Harbour Bay Mall. Hotel's Front Desk is friendly and able to communicate in English. I was asked to consider upgrading my room at a special price (~S$9) as the room I booked was small. I agreed since the offer was much larger and came with a balcony. Regrettably, my room was only ready at about 3.30pm, 30mins after the check-in time at 3pm. My Room (207) is in a slightly run down condition with uneven floor tiles, cracks and paint peeling on the walls, water ponding at the toilet drain outlet next to the toilet bowl. The cleanliness is bad too with stains on the covers of the bed, pillows, blanket. The furniture surfaces in the room and balcony were dusty. Water pressure in the shower was adequate but the hot water only lasted for about 5 mins. Bath towels were unavailable during check in and only available at 4pm according to Housekeeping. I left for dinner at around 5pm and the towels weren't delivered yet. Thankfully, they were there when I came back. The view on my balcony was partially obstructed by the hotel's signboard as it is located directly above the hotel's arrival lobby. The corridor was dark most of the time with only lights at both ends. During my stay, I've only encountered the lights for the whole corridor switched around 7pm only on one evening. Breakfast is provided Sweet Corner Restaurant at Level 1 of the hotel between 7am to 11am. The food was simple with options of rice, noodles, porridge, white bread with condiments. Style of the staples and complimenting dishes varies daily. Eggs can be ordered from the staff. Choices available were Sunny Side Up, Soft Boiled, Omelette. The options for beverages were tea, coffee, and orange juice made from highly watered down concentrated syrup. I also have 2 of my lunches there; once while waiting for check-in and once before check-out. Staff were not eager to serve though but still gets your order right. Waiting time for my lunch to be served was about 10 mins. Located at Level 1 is also Alamanda Spa & Massage, which offers various types of massages and spa treatments. They have a beautiful section on the rooftop of the hotel but it could be only used for the higher tiered packages as I was always led to the rooms at Level 1 twice for my Tradition Full Body and Totok Wajah massages. Grab can pick up at the hotel. Please note that Grab are not able to pick up passengers at the Ferry Terminal and some Hotels and Shopping Malls. You might have to walk a distance away from these locations to board. Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall and Batam City Square Mall (BCM) have dedicated Grab Points at the Pintu Timur (East Entrance)

My main complaint of this hotel is that there is a ”Private KTV (Level 4)” and this is served by two lobby. At the lift lobby (which has 5 lifts), out of which only 2 serves Level 4 which is literally named ”Private KTV (Level 4)”, so definitely not all guests would know of this hidden floor. Very seedy :| Next morning at the the hotel breakfast restaurant, there were a lot of ”suspicious characters”... the kind of guys you'd expect to patronise a KTV, with young pretty girls (probably ******* or hostesses) around their arms, which made the breakfast environment very uncomfortable. The food was subpar anyway, bland, tasteless and overall poor (although the food isn't the main issue). Truly don't think the hotel is family-friendly with the presence of a ”Private KTV”. I guess you get what you pay for, cheap hotel with cheap visitors. Otherwise, here's what's good about the hotel. Location was nearer to Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal (10-15 mins drive), and Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall (5-10 mins drive), though there's not much in the area, not even an Indomaret convenience shop. Rooms has wooden fixture which gives it a ”rustic charm” feel. Aircon is fine, the lobby is grand and alright. Service is alright I guess, nothing too outstanding, and not that bad either. Will probably only return to this hotel if I know the ”Private KTV” has been closed for good.
