Hotels in Yuelu District, Changsha

We booked this hotel specifically for the Luo Dayou concert at Meixihu International Culture and Arts Centre. It's a very short walk from the hotel. Although the room was smaller than I expected, our stay was very comfortable overall. The breakfast was good, and the service was excellent. Plus, it's not far from Metro Line 2, just a few minutes' walk, making it very convenient to visit Orange Isle and Yuelu Academy. I forgot to take pictures of the room, so here are a few photos of the ground-floor restaurant and the Arts Centre!

Environment: The room environment is excellent, spacious, with a particularly beautiful view. Service: A special thanks to Diana for arranging a room on a floor with a stunning view for me. I also had to book an additional room because family was visiting, and she arranged it perfectly. I'm very grateful. Location: The hotel's location is also superb, very close to Fisherman's Wharf, within walking distance, where you can savor Changsha's delicious food. From the hotel, you can see Orange Isle and Yuelu Mountain, and transportation is very convenient.

For the past few years, I've visited Changsha 1-2 times annually, and the Neilson has always been my go-to choice. I've been staying here since it first opened, at least five years ago. What I value most is its prime location, which is incredibly convenient for tourists. It's close to Fisherman's Wharf, making it easy to get around, explore, and enjoy the vibrant nightlife. The hotel boasts excellent facilities and a pleasant environment. The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious, bright, and the beds are comfortable, ensuring a quiet stay. Plus, there's a snack street right nearby. I'll definitely be choosing this hotel again for my next visit.

The hotel's decor is quite new and stylish, with a good ambiance. The elevator lobby is spacious and has the feel of a traditional five-star hotel. The front desk staff provided excellent service, understanding my room preferences in advance. The room design is also quite unique; the French-style room even had a rotary dial phone and thoughtfully provided charging cables. The breakfast was reasonably diverse, and they even had an Yili ice cream tub. Overall, it offers great value for money and I highly recommend it.

Let me start with the positives. The service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. If you're staying in a corner room, they'll call you in advance to let you know. The staff are very enthusiastic and quick to help with any requests. They also offer free Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) in the lobby, which is great for photos. The hotel is quite proactive about environmental protection; the rooms provide reusable eco-friendly slippers, but they will also provide disposable ones if you need them. Now for the downsides: The building is quite tall, but there are only two elevators, so during peak breakfast hours, you can expect a long wait. In the room, when sitting on the bed, you can smell a drain-like odor, likely coming from the shower. The hotel's location is a bit far from most attractions by taxi, usually a 20-minute ride or more. However, it's right next to a subway station, so if you're not traveling with family and kids, taking the subway is a convenient option.

My overall experience during this stay was exceptional. I particularly loved the hotel's service and ambiance. The hotel is nestled amidst mountains and water, offering breathtaking natural scenery. The room setup was a delightful surprise. Overlooking the lake from the window, I could gaze at the beautiful lake view as soon as I opened the curtains; the expansive and healing vista was truly captivating. The interior decor of the room was simple yet elegant, spotlessly clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. All the facilities were well-maintained, making for a very relaxing stay. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive, promptly responding to and handling any requests I had. The common areas were elegantly tidy, exuding a comfortable atmosphere everywhere. It's perfectly suited for both leisurely vacations and short stays. The hotel also offers excellent privacy. Everything exceeded my expectations. I will definitely prioritize this hotel for my next visit to the area and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

This hotel offers incredible value for money in Meixi Lake! Wyndham's quality is consistently excellent. The high-floor, floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic lake views truly exceeded expectations; both day and night scenes are stunning and perfect for photos. The location is superb, just a 5-minute walk to the subway station, making travel convenient. The room is spacious and gets plenty of natural light, ensuring a comfortable stay. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and the service was warm and attentive. The breakfast selection was adequate, and the local rice noodles were authentic. The facilities are comprehensive, including free parking, self-service laundry with a washer-dryer, and a lake-view gym. For the same price point, the lake view and overall experience are far superior. It's definitely worth staying here. I've saved it and will consider it for longer stays in the future!

This is what a 'movie room' should truly be like! The smart lighting throughout the room is fully integrated: with just one click to activate 'movie mode,' the curtains automatically close, the main light gradually dims, and the ambient light strips switch to a warm yellow – the whole experience is incredibly immersive. Lounging with snacks, I watched movies for three hours without any backache or discomfort. Eating and watching like that is the ultimate stress-reliever for the weekend!

During the May Day holiday, I stayed at The Wellesley. As soon as I entered the hotel, there was a faint, pleasant fragrance, and the room also had a lovely scent. It was very calming and helped me sleep soundly, which is rare as I usually have trouble sleeping in new places. The holiday experience was excellent—very comfortable and peaceful. The welcome fruit was delicious, fresh, and sweet. The hotel butler was also very responsive to any requests. The hot water was instant, no need to wait for cold water to clear, which was a thoughtful touch. The staff were all very attentive, reminding me of the excellent Japanese service I experienced while living in Japan. As a guest, my stay was very enjoyable. I hope The Wellesley maintains its original charm and that the staff get well-deserved raises!

This hotel was chosen for a business trip, and I wasn't disappointed after checking in. The room facilities are well-maintained, and the water, electricity, and internet are all very stable, making it perfect for office work. The housekeeping staff are meticulous with cleaning, ensuring a comfortable and tidy environment. Their smiling service was very pleasant, and all the staff members were amiable. Front desk staff member Mia provided excellent service, making the check-in process quick. This is a place I would repeatedly choose.
