The room was clean; however, it was poorly lit, and the dark wall colors did not help at all. Although we chose a room without windows, we did not expect such poor ventilation or effectively none at all. Our room was located on the ground floor, and there was no reception, while the hotel Wi-Fi also did not work downstairs. Soundproofing was very poor, which contributed to a situation that left us quite dissatisfied. While my friend was in the common area trying to get a connection, she was disturbed by guests who were clearly intoxicated and were rude and abusive towards her. When I went to get her, I was also sworn at, and we quickly returned to our room to avoid the situation. She also noticed that several people passing through seemed to be familiar with these guests and did not acknowledgethe ongoing situation. Later in the evening, around 21:00, one guest began crying loudly and there was a heated argument between them and another guest. Due to the poor soundproofing, we could hear everything clearly. We tried contacting reception about the situation, but they did not answer our calls. We felt unsafe leaving the room. Eventually, someone came down and only asked the guests if they were okay, and the situation was left unresolved. The noise continued for quite some time, and our sleep was significantly disturbed. Overall, we felt unsafe staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Resident. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room wasn't ready at arrival. They took our luggage and gave a deactivated Resident room key so that we could still enjoy discounts at local restaurants. When our room was ready, they had already brought our luggage up. The room was great with coffee & tea, a small refrigerator, microwave, etc. We will definitely stay again!

Very nice hotel, good location - about 20 min to the city center. The rooms are spacious enough, but the cleaning service wasn't great - first we got badly frayed towels, then one was stained before use. Breakfasts are mostly the same daily. Our room didn't have a separate bathroom door, just sliding doors that was shared with the wardrobe. This may not be comfortable for some people. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is conveniently located near Haymarket Station, making it easy to get to all of Edinburgh's attractions. It was cherry blossom season during my stay, and the entire city was breathtakingly beautiful. The hotel breakfast was very extensive, and they even offered local specialties like Haggis to try. My only minor regret was that after checking in, I noticed the bed type was incorrect from what I'd booked. However, the front desk promptly resolved the issue for me. Overall, I highly recommend it!

Great location, close to tourist attractions – you can walk to them. Haymarket train station is also right across from the hotel, which makes getting around very convenient. Plus, there are lots of Asian restaurants nearby.

The room was small, but overall we only needed it for sleeping. The location is convenient, just a 20-minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. The room was clean and had everything we needed: Wi-Fi, towels, shower gel/shampoo, a steamer, tea and a kettle, and a coffee machine with capsules. Check-in was easy – they send you the codes for the downstairs door and your room the day before.

I can only say that I love and hate this hotel. I had a bad stay experience. Can you believe I spent 2,700 yuan to book a room in the basement? ! The pictures of the hotel room are seriously inconsistent with the reality. When booking, I noticed that the pictures of ordinary room types may be underground, so I specially booked a room type one level higher (the corresponding pictures on Ctrip also showed normal windows and floors), but when I arrived at the hotel, I was still arranged in the basement. The hotel manager explained that their rooms were not divided into floors, and after all the rooms upstairs were arranged that day, they arranged a room on the ground floor for us. Living underground was really unacceptable, so I had to accept the manager's recommendation and upgrade to a top-floor room for an additional 80 pounds. Environment: As shown in the picture, the view from the upgraded room is really great. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from important attractions such as Princes Street and the Castle. The location is slightly far, but acceptable. Facilities: The room facilities are generally good. The hotel environment is very classic and well maintained. There is a parking lot at the back door, which is quite convenient. Hygiene: It may be that we changed rooms temporarily. After checking in, we found that the bathroom must have been used by someone, and there was also a used razor in the trash can. I wonder if the cleaning staff threw it away... Therefore, if you want to check in, it is recommended to determine the room type and floor in advance.

I booked a room without window without realising! It was already over priced! I tried to change room but they didnt fulfil my request! So when I entered my room I realised is very small and it lacks basic amenities like fridge wardrobe enough space on both sides of the bed and plus I didnt have anything to put my things near my side of the bed as well... bathroom was also small no window i also had to buy my own conditioner cause hotel couldnt provide it for me... im really dissappinted... I already paid enough money and breakfast was not included in the price! Check in was also late i had to pay extra for early check in which is outrageous! And if I wanted late check out I also had to pay extra money for this... For the money I paid i could easily book a luxury air bnb and I could have my comfort as well! Plus at night there was too much noise outside our room which made us very uncomfortable! Sometimes we were thinking that someone entered our room due to the loud noises outside... I stayed one night and it was one of my worst hotel experiences... im really dissapointed... the only thing I liked was the cleanliness... we were told by one staff member that someone would call us to discuss our experience and offer us some money back if possible but no one called us! I wont book again any room in this hotel! Thats for sure! Very dissapointing experience...

Nice Location. The hotel is a bit old. And the double bed is too small for 2 persons. Nothing to rave about, just a room for us to stay for a night.

I checked in before 9pm, but there was no staff. The check-in time for booking details was before midnight. I called at the door but no one answered. I didn’t know what to do... I had to go to the hotel next door and ask for help. The staff and boss were very nice. We waited for about an hour and tried the email again. We found out that the hotel email had a better check-in method than me. It was like a game. I had never thought about it. It was not Airbnb. But I used this method to check in. I checked out the next day. , the cleaning staff was very rude, knocking on the door at 11 o'clock and asking us to leave immediately...
