The location is great, just a 10-minute walk to Calton Hill. However, we were assigned a basement room. We wanted to switch to an upstairs room, but the front desk told us they were fully booked. Luckily, it wasn't a completely subterranean room as it had a window, so it wasn't too bad. The room provided complimentary bottled water and sparkling water, which was a nice touch. On the downside, the soundproofing wasn't great; we could hear conversations and TV noise from the next room. Fortunately, it quieted down when we were ready to rest, so it didn't disturb our sleep.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at CODE The Loft - Edinburgh. The facility is super-clean, including my pod / bed to sleep, a shower and toilet on the second floor, as well as the kitchen and the common room on the ground floor behind the reception. I stayed in a 6-female dormitory for 1 night, and I found that the room was surprisingly quiet, even though all the beds were fully booked up.

Although it's a bit of a walk to most of Edinburgh's main tourist attractions (averaging about 30 minutes), Calton Hill is only a 10-minute stroll away. There's also the St James Quarter, a shopping center with everything you could need, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, along with an affordable Tesco supermarket at the same distance. Plus, if you're doing a Rabbie's Tour like I did (I went to the Isle of Skye), the hotel is super close to the departure point at Edinburgh Bus Station, about a 3-minute walk. The only slight drawback was my room was on the basement level with no elevator, making check-in and check-out a bit of a struggle. The staff offered to help with my bags, but mine was really heavy, so I felt a bit awkward asking. You might want to take them up on their offer! (Bonus tip: Directly across from Tesco, you'll find the Sherlock Holmes statue and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Birthplace – a pleasant surprise for fans!)

After arriving at Edinburgh Airport, I took the Tram to the West End stop, and then used navigation to walk to the hotel. The fare was £7.9 for adults, which I purchased at the self-service machine by the tram entrance.
It's about a 15-minute walk to the Scott Monument, close to the city center.
I arrived at 9 AM, and since a room was available, they allowed me to check in immediately.
I stayed in a first-floor room, and the size was unbelievably large for the UK. Other floors are not like this.
There's a hairdryer, iron, and ironing board. Shampoo is provided, but the body wash and hand soap are combined. No toothbrush or toothpaste.
However, there's no kettle, coffee, tea, or mineral water in the room. You can get free tea and coffee at the bar near the check-in area on the first floor.
There were some cleanliness issues; the underside of the toilet seat wasn't properly cleaned.
The disabled facilities are very comprehensive.

The hotel is a 15-minute walk from Princes Street and just a 3-minute walk from the bus stop. It's a tall Victorian house with both a bathtub and a shower. The front desk staff were very friendly and offered free luggage storage. They also provided complimentary fruit, coffee, and shortbread cookies at the front desk.

An absolutely wonderful experience! The hotel's location and unbeatable views made our day in Edinburgh so enjoyable. It's just a five-minute walk from the hotel to Calton Hill, and getting to the Old Town, Victoria Street (Rainbow Street), and the Royal Mile was incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is a historic landmark; I even went to see room 552, with its beautifully painted purple door, where J.K. Rowling found a quiet retreat amidst the bustling city to complete her seventh book.

Absolutely amazing! The location for food, drinks, and entertainment is incredibly convenient; everything is right on your doorstep. The room facilities are very well-thought-out and user-friendly, with a spacious kitchen and bathroom – big thumbs up! The overall layout, space, facilities, cleanliness, amenities, and especially the location, are definitely 'value for money'.

Taking the Tram from Edinburgh Airport, I got off at Picardy Place and the hotel was right across the street. The location is decent; it's about a 10-minute walk uphill to Waverley Train Station. There's a Tesco right next to the hotel and a large shopping center about 200 meters away. Plenty of restaurants nearby too.
I stayed in a top-floor room, which was just so-so (see pictures). A plus was the Type C charging port next to the bed, very convenient. The downside, at least in my room, was a sporadic vibrating noise during the day. It stopped at night, and I'm not sure what it was, especially since my room was far from the elevators. Speaking of which, there are two elevators, but only one serves the 6th floor.
Breakfast was as pictured; the same items for both days, no variety. There was a kettle in the room.
I was able to check in about half an hour early, which was nice.

Booked a twin room for a trip with the kids. The room was clean, no issues there, and the size is pretty standard for the UK. The bathroom was actually quite spacious, but the sink and basin design was terrible – especially the basin. It's a countertop basin with the faucet on the side (I don't usually take photos in hotels, so I forgot to snap one), and no matter how you use it, water splashes everywhere, all over the counter and the floor. The hotel doesn't provide complimentary bottled water; there's a message on the mirror encouraging you to drink tap water, which is fair enough. The tram station for the airport is very close to the hotel, but unfortunately, it was out of service on the day we were heading to the airport. We ended up dragging our luggage for about fifteen minutes to catch the Airlink 100 next to the train station.

This was my first time seeing this type of shower faucet, and it was quite convenient to use – the best part is that it prevents your hands from slipping. Edinburgh is actually quite small, and all the main attractions are near Princes Street. Choosing the InterContinental offers great value for money. It's only a few minutes' walk to the train station. There are plenty of small restaurants nearby, so dining is never an issue. They even have paid parking right outside, which is a rare find for a hotel in Edinburgh.

The hotel is quite big and the location is very good, but the room we set may be cheaper, so it is arranged on the first floor, and the window is directly outside the road, so the curtains cannot be opened. And Edinburgh is exhausted from Chongqing, the front desk is actually on the 4th floor, there is no elevator to the first floor, the luggage has to be moved down, so it is not convenient. In addition, the soundproofing of the hotel is not good, and the sound of the bath water next door is very loud. There is also the door is big red, with the light strips by the door and the corridor at the door, which is very scary. . . There are character paintings hanging in the room, which is not very auspicious. . .

The hotel's location is excellent; it's right across from the view, and you can practically walk to Princes Street and most attractions. Shopping is also convenient, and the train station is just across the road, saving on public transport fees. The only downside is the number of stairs, but it's still a good choice for those who appreciate old-world charm. We stayed during the Edinburgh Art Festival, so the price was a bit high, and the breakfast was limited and simple. Nearby, you'll find Boots, Barbour, and Hotel Chocolat stores.

Here's a breakdown of my experience:
1. **Great Location!** It took me about 15 minutes to walk to the Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by The Unlimited Collection from the Edinburgh train station with my luggage. It would be even quicker without bags.
2. **Fantastic Views!** From the restaurant window, you can see a large monument, and in the distance, ancient castles and mountains. It was truly delightful. (Image)
3. **Convenient Transportation!** The Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by The Unlimited Collection is located on the famous Princes Street, and it's a short walk to Edinburgh Castle, less than a kilometer away. (Image of hotel exterior)

We had a wonderful experience. The room was very large and spacious. It's very easy to get to anywhere from the airport by bus. We paid 20 pounds for a round-trip ticket for two adults and one child with the bus company 100 Airlink. We got off at the stop within walking distance of the hotel. All the restaurants and tourist attractions are within walking distance.

TaojinxiaozhenA top choice for families with kids, and one of the newer hotels in Edinburgh. I'd definitely recommend staying here. It's super convenient. The only downside is that they don't clean your room if you stay for two nights or more, which was a bit uncomfortable. So, I'd suggest they pay more attention to this. Hopefully, the hotel continues to improve. No need to go overboard, just reach a five-star standard.

Overall, I feel very inconvenient, so the stay is not very good. Because the hotel is very small, there are several rooms, no one after 5 pm and before 9 am, it is very inconvenient to coordinate things and store luggage. Moreover, because the water pipe was broken, it was changed to the hotel next to it without notifying the guests, which brought a lot of inconvenience, so I hope everyone is cautious.

Guest UserI had a great stay at Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Princes Street). The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the city.
The location is excellent – very central and convenient for getting around Edinburgh, with many attractions within walking distance. The tram stop for the airport is also just a short walk away, which made both arrival and departure extremely easy.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was quiet, and the overall value for money was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-connected place to stay in the heart of Edinburgh.

I visited this hotel after 19 years. Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. It was pleasant, but nothing special. My expectations were much higher for a 4-star hotel. Great waiter, Edward! :-)

Guest UserThe hotel decor, cleanliness, and ambience were all excellent. My only complaint was the bed ,it was the worst we have ever slept on. My husband and I spent the night holding on to the edge as it sunk so baddly in the middle. Our first night was in rm 105, we complained to reception and were moved to 203. However the bed was only marginally better. The headboard is also too far away from the bed,causing the pillows to fall down the back of the bed.
I feel it is such a shame as everything else was so good.
I would also like to compliment all of your staff, they were so well mannered, pleasant and professional.
Please sort out your beds,it is so important and is the only thing letting your beautifull hotel down.
