Hotels in Lamai Beach, Koh Samui

The room was very spacious and clean, with a large balcony. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of chilled sparkling wine and dessert. The front desk staff spoke Chinese and were exceptionally friendly every month. When cleaning the room, they even replaced the ice in the ice bucket. Every afternoon, small snacks were delivered. One day, I returned to a cleaned room, but I had messed up the bed. During the short time I went out for dinner, the staff who delivered snacks also tidied up the room again and re-made the bed – fantastic! The views at Silavadee Resort are truly amazing, and the pool water is exceptionally clean. As soon as we got to the pool, staff immediately brought us iced lemonade, which was a lovely touch. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, offering both Western buffet and a la carte options, and everything tasted delicious. I especially loved the a la carte lobster rolls and fried rice; the lobster rolls had large chunks of lobster meat, and I easily had at least two every day, haha. All drinks were made to order, including various coffees, teas, and other beverages. Of course, there were also fresh juices at the buffet. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from the main road, but everything else was perfect. Our child had a great time and said they want to stay at Silavadee again next time we visit Koh Samui.

The location is beautiful! The bungalows are nestled on a hillside with lots of stairs and are partially shaded by trees. While swimming isn't possible at the beach right in front (it's too shallow and the water is too hot), Lamai Beach is within walking distance. Lamai Center is a bit further out. It was very quiet, and the terrace was lovely. The furniture is a bit worn, but still functional.

Everything was excellent: the service, the location, the breakfast, and the front desk staff, especially the check-in process. I particularly want to highlight the Guest Relations Manager, Ms. Mew, who made sure to speak to all guests every morning during breakfast to ensure everything was okay. She even went out of her way to help me with something she wasn't obligated to. Always smiling and incredibly kind, as was the rest of the hotel staff who were always ready to assist with any request. I was with my daughter's family, and they share my high regard for this place, even submitting their own separate review. Thank you very much to you and the entire team. We'd love to come back and will gladly recommend it. The price absolutely justifies the experience.

Lovely hotel on the beach. Stayed in a deluxe family room which was perfect for our needs. Beautiful swimming pool with no issue getting loungers most of the day. We also liked the massages by the beach. We took a Bolt or Grab into Lamai Road in the evening which was around 250 baht each way as more choice of restaurants and shops. 2 min walk along the beach to Hin Ta Hin Yai rocks

Gorgeous views and a very green, well-maintained territory. Cleaning is excellent. Linens and towels are changed daily. The room is very clean. Breakfasts are fantastic. They prepare different types of eggs, pancakes, and offer cheese, cured sausage, vegetables, greens, ready-made dishes, and lots of fruit. The coffee is bad, but that's the only downside of the breakfasts. It's great to sunbathe by the pool; there are comfortable sun loungers, and you can order drinks and food. The music is pleasant and not too loud. The pool water temperature and showers are nice. Massages are slightly more expensive than elsewhere, literally by only 200 baht. CONS. 1. You can't take more than 1 towel at the pool. This is absolute nonsense. One towel isn't enough to cover the whole sun lounger, and it's impossible to touch the scorching hot faux leather. Just buy more towels; you're washing them anyway. What's the problem with one more or two? I really don't see the issue! 2. Internet. It didn't work at all in our room. There are apps and YouTube on the TV, but you can't watch movies because there's no internet, even though they give you the Wi-Fi password. It only works in the restaurant and by the pool. 3. The staff is excellent, EXCEPT for the older man with glasses by the pool (photo attached). He constantly has a sour face as if everyone owes him something. Disgusting. Unfriendly. Customer service is ZERO. He needs to be retired with that attitude! 4. The sea. It's non-existent. It's a quarry. Take a 3-minute ride to Chaweng, that's where the beach is. White, fine sand, turquoise water. Here, it's yellow, coarse sand, all rocks; you can't swim without a mask. Even getting in is difficult. So, if you love swimming in beautiful water, this isn't the place. And if you use a mask, which they provide for free here, it's not Zanzibar or the Maldives; it's not that beautiful, and there's not much to see. 5. Flies in the restaurant! This is absolutely horrific. There are 5-8 of them flying over your plates. And don't tell me it can't be dealt with. I refuse to believe that a guest in a 5-star hotel should sit swatting flies. Put some small repellents on the tables. They cost pennies, but they solve the problem. 6. The air conditioning in the room roars like a plane taking off. It's impossible to adjust it properly. It has no quiet mode. Replace this old thing with new ones; it's not that expensive either. 7. Near the building where our room 406 was, there's a smoking area for staff. We have to walk past this spot every day, and it's dirty, with trash everywhere, as if it's not hotel property but a backyard in a village. 8. Water temperature fluctuations in the shower. There are only two options: scalding hot or freezing cold. It's impossible to get a medium temperature.

This hotel is simply magnificent, and the service is beyond excellent; you truly feel like a valued guest. During our week-long stay, the hotel kindly offered us one complimentary lunch and one dinner, which was a very pleasant surprise. Both the beach restaurants and Saffron offer wonderful dining experiences. Breakfasts were also thoroughly enjoyable, with champagne and Bloody Marys available. There were always little presentations happening, a small touch but much appreciated. The beach itself is superb: clean, warm water with no waves. We enjoyed snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking. The beach service was outstanding, with constant provisions of water, ice, and chilled towels. Cars were always at our villa within 3 minutes, so we never had to wait. We will definitely return next time, but we'll opt for a sea-view villa. The views from there are simply incredible.

The room floor was screeching, the property was not beachfront but advertised as beachfront. It’s a hotel with cheap owners not focused on services rather focused on charging customers for everything they could. The coconut water was also charged during breakfast. The staff on the reception was very unhelpful at night. I would never recommend anyone to stay in this hotel

Comfortable, clean, and pleasantly surprised. This is my third time in Koh Samui, and I have stayed in several of the most popular hotels. This time I want to change to some new hotels. This time I booked a seaside homestay for the first three nights, and stayed here for the last night. Because there are three children in the family, we need two rooms, and this two-bedroom and one-living room is just right. The whole design of the room is very comfortable, the details are especially clean, and the living room and dining table facing the beautiful scenery are really pleasing to the eye. The key is that the price-performance ratio is super high at more than 2,000 a night👍👍👍

The resort has a beautiful vibe and the views are stunning. It looks like it’s in need of some good cleaning and maintenance, apparently it’s an older resort that got taken over by a new company last year, so maybe they need some more time. Pros: - beautiful views - good breakfast, almond milk available for drinks at breakfast and you can even order matcha! Excellent service. Vegan options in terms of food are present but limited. - staff is very friendly Cons: - Room smelled humid/moldy. The bed felt damp. - when I asked the receptionist for a dehumidifier or if there was something to do about it I got looked at weird and just got air freshener offered, which is past the point. - Room didn’t look clean (see photos) - mold and chipped off paint everywhere in the room - no gym or fitness area, yoga classes for 300thb an hour instead Keep in mind that there are lots of stairs without railings, so not ideal for children or elderly people.

Overall, we really enjoyed the stay, especially because the location is excellent and everything is nearby. The beach is directly in front of the hotel, there’s a lively market around 1 km away, many restaurants, bike rentals, exchange places, and even a 7-Eleven just across the street, which made everything very convenient for us. The atmosphere of the hotel is beautiful and tropical, and some of the villa-style rooms with direct pool access looked especially nice and more private. We stayed on the second floor, and the only difficult part was that the sound insulation was not very good, so during the night we could hear the neighbors quite clearly, which made sleeping a bit difficult sometimes. Another small thing we didn’t really understand: one evening by the pool we wanted to drink wine/Prosecco, but the hotel didn’t have it available, so we bought a bottle ourselves from 7-Eleven nearby. We asked the hotel only for two empty wine glasses, but they told us it would cost 100 baht per glass. It’s not really about the money, but usually in hotels this kind of small service is complimentary, especially when guests are staying there already. They also offer morning yoga classes for around 350 baht, which is a nice extra if you enjoy relaxing activities during vacation. Overall, despite a few small inconveniences, we still had a good experience and loved the location the most.
