This little traditional inn was absolutely delightful 1 night stay and the host family could not have been more kind and helpful. The owner helped us get our bags to and from the inn as everything in this area is pedestrianised and no vehicle is available for transporting luggage. You must register for entrance into the historical zone at the main office before you try to enter the security gates by showing your ID as is the case with all things in China. Don't let this put you off. Smoking indoors is common so ask for smoke free treatment. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Shuxiang Fudi Hotel in Zhouzhuang, and overall, it was a great experience. What impressed me most was the service: as soon as we arrived at the parking lot, a staff member was already there to greet us. They then helped us get our entrance tickets and personally escorted us all the way to the hotel – it was incredibly thoughtful. The breakfast wasn't particularly elaborate, but it tasted good. At check-out, they even gave us a souvenir, which was a very nice touch. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Zhouzhuang.

Located right in the heart of the ancient town, directly opposite the Sanmao Bookstore, this hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the charming narrow alleys, gondola boats, and picturesque stone bridges – all fantastic for photos. The rooms are beautifully antique-styled, clean, and spacious, truly capturing the essence of the old town. Plus, the breakfast is absolutely delicious!

Had a really enjoyable stay at Mulan Huayue Hotel during our visit to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town. The service was exceptional from start to finis. When we arrived, the staff came to pick us up from the admission gate and helped carry our luggage to the hotel, which was especially helpful since the old town streets can be a bit tricky with bags. We arrived before check-in time, and since the rooms were ready, the owner let us look at the available rooms and choose the one we preferred based on the view. It was a small gesture, but it made us feel very welcome. The location is also excellent. Since the hotel is located inside the ancient town itself, we could simply step outside and start exploring the canals, bridges, and old streets without needing any additional transport. It was especially nice to wander around early in the morning and at night when there were fewer crowds. The hotel also has two super cute cats that were always hanging around and made the place feel even more homely. We tried the hotel's restaurant and were impressed by the food. Our favorite dish was the 酸菜肉丝炒芦苇根, which was delicious and something we hadn't tried before. The food was slightly on the salty side for our taste, but overall we enjoyed everything we ordered. When it was time to head to our next hotel in Suzhou, the owner helped arrange a car for us (150 RMB). The driver was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information along the way, which made the journey much more enjoyable. Another thing I appreciated was how attentive the owner was. When we ran out of drinking water, she personally brought three more bottles to our room without us having to ask multiple times. Overall, this was one of those places where you can really feel the warmth and hospitality of the owner. It made our stay in Zhouzhuang much more memorable, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The location is excellent, very close to Shuangqiao (Double Bridge), and not directly on the river, which made for a very quiet night's sleep. The owner was also very friendly and even picked us up in the evening, saving us the hassle of dragging our luggage through the old town. The room type was great, and the owner even upgraded us for free. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommended!

Very stylish boutique hotel inside the Ancient Town with high-quality beauty products and comfy beds. Very friendly & accommodating staff who tried to fulfill all wishes reg. breakfast (Western & Asian options) and offered pick-up/drop-off with golfcart. Delicious coffee & great terrace. I chose Fengyuantang Courtyard B&B for my trip to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, and I genuinely feel it was the right choice. Here are my honest thoughts. First, the location: the B&B is nestled in a quiet spot within the bustling ancient town, making access very convenient. It was so relaxing to stroll back to our accommodation after enjoying the night views. It's truly hassle-free. The B&B itself is the old Fengyuantang residence, a preserved Qing Dynasty building that is also a listed historic building in Kunshan. It's a typical Jiangnan ancient dwelling with black tiles, wooden windows, carved gate towers, and veranda eaves – every detail exudes the charm of old Jiangnan. Although the B&B was converted from a hundred-year-old house, the interior completely lacks the dampness and dated feel often found in old buildings. The living comfort is very high; it retains only the unique rustic tranquility of an ancient building, making for a serene and comfortable stay. The owners spent over a year meticulously renovating it. The courtyard features several beautiful miniature landscapes, from stone paths and pomegranate trees to lush greenery. There are also swings, stone tables, and benches. On rainy days, raindrops falling from the eaves, combined with the red lanterns, create a particularly atmospheric scene. Every corner is picturesque, perfect for photos, and simply sitting in the courtyard, sipping tea, and unwinding is incredibly peaceful. Both nights of my stay happened to be during the Jiangnan plum rain season, and experiencing the misty Jiangnan atmosphere within the old house was truly unique and evocative. Both the owner and his wife are incredibly warm and attentive, treating guests kindly and genuinely, without any sense of distance. Breakfast is a simple, authentic Jiangnan home-style meal: white porridge with fried dough sticks, corn, eggs, and refreshing side dishes – light and palatable, just right to fill up before exploring the ancient town. The entire B&B is immaculately clean. The ancient building has been comfortably renovated while retaining its original charm. The courtyard offers a new picturesque view at every turn, the service is thoughtful, and getting around is convenient. My stay this time was a perfect 10, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Zhouzhuang. I sincerely recommend it to anyone looking for a slow and immersive stay in the ancient town!

The room was cozy and spotless! The little courtyard was absolutely beautiful! Right outside, there's a lovely view of arched bridges and flowing water. The location is super easy to find, and it was so convenient to pop back to the guesthouse to rest whenever we got tired from exploring, especially traveling with kids. We'll definitely stay here again next time!

Service: Very good. The boss told us where to have fun and where to avoid thunderstorms. We also upgraded the room for free. The room was very large and had the characteristics of the ancient town. The air conditioner was even turned on in advance, so it was warm as soon as we entered. Service: Very good. Recommended

The room had so much character, you could tell the owner put a lot of thought into every detail. The service was also incredibly attentive; the owner tried their best to accommodate all our requests. Highly recommend! And since it wasn't peak season, the room rate was quite reasonable too.
