Hause Itaewon

The place was easily accessible via train, just a short walk from Samgakji station (exit 1 or 13). It's also close to the airport bus stop that takes you directly to Incheon Airport - very convenient. It also has a nearby convenience store, and is surrounded by a lot of restaurants and cafes so you won't have to worry about where to get lunch or breakfast. Most of the guests I've met there are quite friendly and will give you tips on what to do if it's your first time in the city. They also have a kitchen in the 3rd floor so you can cook your own meals if you feel like it. We sadly didn't get a chance to see the rooftop and the upper floors because we were so tired by the time we returned. The main floor of the guesthouse is on the 2nd floor, including the reception desk, and you have to climb a steep set of stairs to get there which proved quite challenging when most of their guests are carrying huge luggages - no handrails btw, so you have to be careful. I was carrying a collective weight of 20kgs when I first arrived and had to get help from Johnny as it was impossible for me to do it myself. With its popularity among travelers comes the obvious problem of it being fully packed with people, which can get chaotic when everybody wants to use the showers at once. The place is a little small and there wasn't a lot of room to move around in once all the guests arrive and are buzzing about.

I had a phone charger in the room, so I couldn't use it. So I was sorry that I couldn't charge it, and there was a stain on one towel because it was not well washed. It was good

It was very clean and tidy for the money. Cheap hotels often don't have amenities, but this hotel has amenities for 2 people (toothbrush, face wash, makeup remover, lotion, milky lotion, razor), which was very good. I think I was able to watch Netflix in the room. (I haven't seen it) There is also a hair dryer and a charger. There were 3-4 bottles of water in the refrigerator. Recommended for those who want to stay cheaply but have resistance to old hotels.
New World Hotel Yongsan

I stayed the New World Hotel, Hangang daero 84 gil, Namyeong dong, Yongsan gu, Seoul, South Korea, August 26 to 31. This was easily the most expensive place on my trip (and I was in Tokyo for a week). And the New World Hotel was the worst place of my trip. The location is central ish, but dirty and gross, with shops selling junk and scrap metal. This should not be a 3-star hotel. The first problem was that the listing was cheap, but had a shared bathroom, so compared to other listings (which had their own baths), it looked good. By the time you got your own bathroom, the price was a lot higher. This is a classic bait-and-switch sales routine. The listing also promised a free shuttle to the Inchon airport, so I thought that despite the room price, at least I get a ride to the airport. When I asked the staff, that was a ”misunderstanding”. Instead of offering to take me the 30km to the airport or pay for the shuttle, or pay me the 80K Won amount of the shuttle, they offered to take me to Seoul station, 1.5km, and said a taxi would cost 85K Won, so they were compensating me well. That is the biggest lie I ever heard. I can provide information from *********** that shows the hotel changed its listing page to a paid shuttle after I asked at the front desk about the free shuttle. The room was gross. The bathroom had mold in it. Regular soap was shared in the shower. The shower drain was rusty. The water temperature varied while you were showering. There was no shower curtain, so all the water went on the ground. There were screws sticking out of the doorknob and toilet flusher (I have pictures). There's holes in the tile, huge scrapes on the floor, lack of electric switch covers, smudges on walls and other cosmetic things easy to fix, if anyone cared. The sink was cracked and fixed with duct tape!!! Just things I haven't seen since a refugee camp I had the misfortune to be in while in my youth. The water temperature went up and down significantly during a showering without my touching the knobs. From the 6th floor, anyone taking the stairs down to the 5th floor is in danger of falling down the steps, because one step is significantly higher than the other steps. I wouldn't want to get paid to stay here. I talked to the only English speaker, and presumably the manager, who was somewhat apologetic, but wouldn't address the problems, nor lower the price. When I paid the high price, I assumed a decent room, and the free shuttle and there the hotel failed.
Hotel the Designers Seoul Station

Seoul Station
Excellent location, subway station outside the hotel and the exit nearest to it has an elevator. One station away from seoul station which is also walkable. Room is fairly sized but do take note that there is a jacuzzi inside the room and the toilet doors and walls are frosted. People inside the room can see you while you shower. Bidet is provided on the toilet seat and it’s heated. Staff are friendly and helpful. Water bottles provided daily. The room we got has a pretty nice city view with partially obscured view of the namsan tower. You can enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the room.

The cleaning staff had to be asked to come in. The hosts are nice, there were no problems. Except for one. Constantly behind the wall ************************** I had to turn on the TV loudly so that my daughter wouldn’t hear it. The TV didn't help... I went down to the reception several times, but only once found the staff. They apologized, but nothing changed, and my daughter and I listened to the ***** girls for several more hours. I don't recommend staying here with children.
