Good hotel with newly renovated room. Very near the main attraction. Some mosquitos in the room but understandable since it is the rainy season. Minor feedback would be the smell of the sheets and blanket, slightly damp. In general, very happy with the price we pay - cold ac.

We loved our stay, they warmly welcomed us with good tips for the city and a delicious orange. The host are very friendly and extremely atentive, they even upgrade us for a biger room for free! They are also very skilled in using the translate to comunicate with us. The room was very cozy and clean, with more than everything you need to be confortable. You can see the care in many details. The eletric blanket is a plus to make you sleep like a baby warm and relaxed. The location is perfect to visit the ancient city and also the local restaurants and markets. We definitly got much more than we expected for the good price they have. We totally recomend this wonderful place with beatiful people.

The location is quite remote, downstream of the ancient city. If you want to go upstream, you need to walk a long way, and it is very tiring to go back and forth, but the advantage is that it is relatively quiet. The boss is very nice and can pick you up from the Qifeng Square shuttle bus station. There is no bottled mineral water in the house, but it is in a big bucket, which I think is not very convenient. You can see the river view in the house, but there will be mosquitoes. It is recommended to close the balcony door. Next time, I may stay upstream because the ancient city is really big.

Amazing stay and life long memories here!! I had the most wonderful stay at Yueying!! The hotel easily organised a private driver to pick me up from the train station & take me to the entrance of Phoenix where the owner met me. She then carried my suitcase over the bridge to her hotel which consisted of many steps/stairs. Upon checkin, she let me rest and advised when I was ready she would explain Fenghuang to me. She pulled out a map and pointed out all the sights to see, how the streets worked and that the town is lively until 11:30pm. A part of the hotel, she also owns a costume shop where you can try on a costume for free and take your own photos around the town - it is very beautiful! You also have the option to pay for makeup & a professional photographer. Both day & night photos are available. I must say I had the best time with the owner, she was so lovely and helpful. I will remember her for longtime and hope to come back to visit. In the morning, I needed to leave early and only remembered at 1.30am. I messaged her about organising a ride to the airport and assumed she might read it in the morning. She answered me straight away and booked a driver to collect me. Just amazing!!! I had the best stay here and even better memories with a great person! Thank you for everything ☺️

Although the hotel is located by the Tuojiang River, offering some river views, its location within the ancient city means parking is a hassle. We had to park in a separate lot, which was very crowded and cost 40 yuan a day (the hotel managed to get us a small discount down to 30 yuan). We then had to drag our luggage quite a distance over uneven, cobblestone streets, which was extremely inconvenient, especially traveling with children and seniors. Combined with the crowds during the May Day holiday, the overall experience was quite poor. All these ancient towns seem pretty much the same, indistinguishable from Lijiang or Dali. We might as well have just driven from Tianmen Mountain straight to Changsha – and the room wasn't cheap either. On a positive note, the fish at Gaaizi Restaurant in the ancient city was delicious; we ordered a second helping after finishing the first. The taste was excellent, but definitely skip their chicken – it wasn't good at all.

The wooden floors in the room felt comfortably warm and smooth underfoot. The lighting was soft and subtle, and the electric curtains were a breeze to use. Every little detail showed thoughtful consideration. The hotel is right on the Tuojiang River, offering beautiful views from the window. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel, management and staff are most helpful and friendly.  Location is excellent, room overlooking the river.  Many restaurants and shops close by.   Plenty of bottle water available at lobby area.  Tea kettle in room but no tea or coffee provided in room. AC very good , and nice hot  warm water for showers, bed is very comfortable.  Housekeeping not cleaning room well only gives clean towels.   99.9% communication is used through WeChat app.  Staff responds quickly with all msgs.   Definitely recommending this hotel.

We weren’t sure how the room would be as there was only one photo in the listing for the loft room but took a chance given the rest of the photos and it was great! Right now (April 2026) there’s some scaffolding with green mesh on the river side of the building but our room was above it mostly so we could get a decent view! The room itself is wooden panels and feels nice and cosy - like a log cabin. It it’s chilly the AC also goes hotter. Clean with a good shower (although the blue curtain could do with being replaced) and fresh towels and bins cleaned daily. Friendly staff who helped us organise a trip. We’re English speakers and the trip was for Chinese tourists but it was insightful to see a side of domestic tourism most foreigners wouldn’t get a chance to see - so worth trying it! Our trip took us to the southern Great Wall which was cool, and the food was a feast. Great choice in Fenghuang if you want some river views without overpaying.

First, I want to thank the owner for helping me with my suitcase, both to and from the hotel. The last picture shows the stairs, which are very narrow and steep, so thank you for the help. I stayed in a quad room on the third floor, facing the river. The photos I took at noon, night, and in the morning really show how beautiful the scenery is. Across the river, there's a row of places where you can listen to music. I visited one, and the B&B owner reminded me to always confirm the price beforehand and pay upfront, rather than at the end. It's a good reminder! The singing continued until 11:30 PM, which was a bit noisy. The food I ordered was from the B&B itself, and it was delicious! They also offer a free 2-hour Miao ethnic costume experience, and you can do your own makeup. There are many spots by the river where you can take photos for a fee. Highly recommended!

The entire experience here truly shows the owner's thoughtful dedication. The room was clean and tidy, and the location is absolutely fantastic, right by the river. Being centrally located, it's super convenient for sightseeing. They offer a diverse breakfast in the morning, and in the afternoon, you can enjoy a lovely high tea by the riverside, just sitting and taking in the view. Downstairs, there's a cozy bar that offers a unique 'day coffee, night drinks' experience, which I absolutely loved. You can leisurely sip coffee during the day and unwind with a drink in the evening, all while enjoying the river view – it's incredibly relaxing. The service was warm, attentive, and incredibly thorough, taking care of every little detail. It’s a one-stop-shop for dining, accommodation, and entertainment, offering great value for money. Staying here for my trip to Fenghuang was perfect, and I'll definitely choose this place again if I come back!
