It was only a one-night stay at this homestay, but I’m very satisfied with my experience. The view was amazing, and the location is probably the best possible one - right between two bridges. From the balcony, you can enjoy the beautiful illumination while avoiding the crowds below.
The apartment has great smart amenities, a huge comfortable bed, fresh linens, and everything was perfectly clean, and there was no smoking smell at all. (I asked non-smoking room). It has a modern smart-home vibe. The staff were also very helpful and welcoming.
Even though I stayed for just one evening, I still had enough time to enjoy the balcony view and walk around the city several times. I saw some comments before booking saying that this area is noisy, and that is partly true - but only until around 23:30. After that, it becomes much quieter.
If you are looking for a calmer stay and have a few days in Phoenix City, there are also some cozy and peaceful areas I discovered during my walk. But for a short visit, I highly recommend this homestay. Top quality for a very reasonable price. My only advice: choose an upper floor for better view (I stayed on the 4th).

Guest UserGood hotel with newly renovated room. Very near the main attraction. Some mosquitos in the room but understandable since it is the rainy season. Minor feedback would be the smell of the sheets and blanket, slightly damp. In general, very happy with the price we pay - cold ac.

Guest UserThe inn was quite easy to find. We had contacted the owner in advance, and he directed us to a parking lot. After parking our car, we took our luggage and boarded a shuttle. It dropped us off just outside the ancient city, and the inn was right across the bridge. The owner has a very cute blue cat that my son absolutely loved playing with. There are tables and chairs right outside the inn, which was perfect for relaxing. In the evenings, after a long day of exploring, we'd come back, sit down, and listen to the lively sounds of the alley. The bustling Hongqiao area is also within walking distance, so it was great to take a stroll every day. We stayed for 3 nights, which was convenient as we didn't have to pack up constantly. On the third day, the owner kindly upgraded us to a room on the third floor, which was more spacious. Traveling during the off-peak season made the whole experience very comfortable and leisurely!

This hotel is such a cozy and comfy place. We strongly recommend you to stay here. If you are a foreigner, you will be hosted with a big smile and a caring attitude.
- Staff: very lovely and kind people. Always available for helping you.
- Room: very new, tidy, clean, spacious and cozy. We were actually sad that we couldn’t have stayed longer.
- Location: perfect! Already inside of the pedestrian area and so, very close to the ancient city (5min walking) but without all the noise of the main street (that follows the canal). Close to very nice and local restaurants and stores. If you want to use public transport, it is really near - just walk to the nearest road (10min).
Summing up, they are a 10/10!! 🤩

Guest UserThe location is excellent, very close to the performance venue, and the riverside views are absolutely stunning. The owner was incredibly kind and went above and beyond: she drove us to the bus station to catch a taxi and even helped us with our luggage in the rain. A huge thank you to her! The scenery was so beautiful that I couldn't resist extending my stay for another day.

Guest UserWe enjoyed our stay! It is a beautiful decorated home run hotel. The location is super convenient. The room is a little away from the river, so it is a lot of quieter. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hosts are very friendly. They help us carry our luggages to the room and sent us off to take a taxi. Will recommend it to anyone who is visiting FengHuang Town.

The owner was very welcoming and kind; he even picked us up when we couldn't find the place. He also turned on the air conditioning before we arrived. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The night view of the ancient city was absolutely stunning; you could enjoy the view from the balcony. Highly recommended!

Marilyn Carbajalfound the value for money extremely poor.
The hotel’s only real advantage is its location. Beyond that, there were essentially no services provided, no meaningful amenities, and very little to justify the price charged. It felt more like paying for a bed than for a hotel stay.
What surprised me most was the check-in process. At no point was I asked for my passport or formally registered, something I have never experienced in any hotel during my travels.
Overall, this felt less like a hotel and more like a room rental with a bed and a key. Suitable if you are only looking for a place to sleep, but not if you expect even basic hospitality standards or reasonable value for the price paid.

The room was amazing because it’s at the center of the ancient city. They also have washing machine which was very helpful although it didn’t have the drying feature but we just hung our clothes so it wasn’t really a problem. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful. I traveled with my mom (64yo) and aunt (52yo). We had many luggages so we were very afraid of having to carry it up & down the stairs. 1 day before our arrival I texted them via Wechat and they said they’ll be waiting for us at the stair to help us carry the luggages. The owner and the front desk lady not only helped us on our arrival but also on our departure at 8am in the morning.
They helped us to buy the boat ticket which I’d say is a must! The boat ride was definitely my top highlight of visiting China. They also helped to book our morning car ride to the station. All in all, their helpfulness was what makes the stay felt so comfortable.
10/10 definitely would recommend to anyone.

The location of the inn is very good. Downstairs is the North Gate Ferry where you can take a boat. From the balcony on the third floor, you can see the Snow Bridge, Jumping Rock, and Hong Bridge. You can also see performances at night. It is the most lively area in the entire ancient city;
Because the inn couldn't help with carpooling to Chadong, I extended my stay for one night. The landlady gave me a slightly discounted price compared to online renewal. Thank you!
Secondly, let’s talk about hygiene issues. There are no windows in the bathroom. The weather is about 38 degrees. Taking a bath is as hot as a sauna. The water temperature of the nozzle is difficult to control. There is a layer of scale accumulated on the floor of the bathroom area due to long-term accumulation of shower gel. The bathroom door is too hot. Narrow, often bumped into; there is a problem with the water pressure of the toilet, you have to press it all the time to flush it clean, and when you press it, only a small stream of water will flow out;
I would like to point out the problem of the stairs again. They are very narrow. On the day I packed my luggage and left, I stepped on it for some reason and slipped down. My butt hurt from the fall. I didn’t realize until I looked at it at night that there was a large bruise on my butt (picture) 4) Carrying a suitcase up and down the stairs is really dangerous! At that time, the sanitation lady on the second floor came over to help me. When I got down to the first floor, the landlady and the front desk guy didn't seem to have heard anything, but they seemed to be surprised. They didn't even say hello!
Generally, late check-out in hotels is until 14:00, but the landlady said that they can only do it until 12:30. She always emphasized that if you don't check out, how long will the cleaning lady have to work? I guess she will be paid by the hour. Well, it doesn’t matter if someone wants to move in later!
Regarding the inability to help with carpooling, I honestly say that the service in the inn is far inferior to that of a youth hostel (I especially recommend the Rainbow Bridge Youth Hostel, the boss is very nice. I inquired about the carpooling, and he readily agreed that it was Just help send carpooling messages, it doesn’t matter if you don’t live there!); I suggest the boss to provide more attentive services, such as carpooling to Chadong, day trips, etc.!
The most disgusting hotel ~ Yuejiang River View B&B, see picture 5, immediately block it!
