NNathalie KarmannWhat a nice experience.
The room was exquisite.
We loved the terrace. The seats were very comfortable and we had a great view.
Cherry on top we could see a fantastic show at night.
We could also enjoy the sight of the dragon boat at night.
Bare in mind that there is no pickup from the train station. But you can take the subway and they'll come and pick you up. If your party counts 4 members, I recommend taking a cab or a didi (just like the hotel recommended us).
That said, we were given free rides to visit the city.
They can also arrange a car for you to visit other sites (paying service).
We had huge and high quality towels as well as disposable hand towels.
The toilet was a washlet like the ones we have in Japan.
The hotel was very clean. Unfortunately, they were some remodeling going on on the first floor when we stayed there and the smell of the solvent was unpleasant.
They did not have enough sitting to accommodate proper sitting for everyone but we took our breakfast up to our private terrace and enjoyed it very much.
The breakfast is a set breakfast. We could choose between 2 types of Chinese breakfast.
I can't say that I loved the breakfast but it was nice.
You can arrange it with many sauces, condiments and plenty of fresh chives and cilantro.
You can even ask for seconds.
The butler was very kind and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff as a matter of fact.
They also have a washing machine that you can use for free but you have to take care of the drying yourself.
My family and I got sick from a previous food intoxication and we were happy that we stayed in such a nice hotel.
Fenghuang old city is very festive so it can get noisy at night but the terrace's windows are of very good quality, therefore it did not bother us much. It is possible that you can hear your neighbors though.
All in all, despite being sick we had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We were happily surprised to receive a farewell gift.
We definitely recommend the place and we go back to this hotel without hesitation.
GgarfieldzhouAfter a lot of research for my trip to Fenghuang Ancient Town, the 青城山水庭院江景民宿 (Qingcheng Mountain & Water Courtyard Riverview B&B) was by far my best choice. We stayed in a family suite with a balcony, which was bright and airy, facing both north and south. The room was quiet, clean, and well-equipped. The balcony offered fantastic views directly overlooking the Tuojiang River. Plus, since it wasn't facing the street, it was very peaceful at night. The B&B is located upstream of the ancient town, just a three-minute walk from Nanhua Bridge, which provides panoramic views of the entire town – perfect for photos! The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. They proactively gave us recommendations for exploring the ancient town and even gifted us some delicious local ginger and peanut candies. It was a wonderful trip, and I'll definitely be recommending this place to my friends.
AAnonymous UserThe view from the balcony was amazing, offering a beautiful night view of the ancient city, including Hongqiao and the pagodas below. The river water was so clear and green. Downstairs, there's a road making it easy to catch a taxi, and there's even a shared bike station very close by. Getting to the ancient city is super convenient; you just cross the road and go down a flight of stairs, it only takes a few minutes. Yet, it's not right on the bustling streets of the ancient city scenic area, and it's also close to the residential area for local dining. The cat in the lobby is very friendly and adorable, you can pet it all you want. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic and even helped us buy boat tickets, which was great since it wasn't crowded during the day, but there was a queue for night cruises.
GGuest User[Shuiyun Yaju Wubridge Store] - Living in a Jiangnan Ink Painting on the Tuojiang River
The location is superb, right by Wubridge, much quieter than the Hongqiao side. Opening the window reveals the Tuojiang River, with views of Yunbridge and Wubridge. In the mornings, when the river is foggy, it's especially ethereal. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Our third-floor river-view room offered an unbeatable view.
The owner and staff are incredibly warm and helpful, offering pickup and drop-off services and providing local tips. Today, it rained, and they even drove me to the Maglev station, which I truly appreciated.
If you love peace and quiet and want to experience the charm of the ancient town, this is the perfect place. It's convenient for exploring the old town during the day, and at night, you can stroll around Wubridge and fall asleep to the sound of the water. This is the slow pace of life Fenghuang should offer. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.
XXiaoSongWe had a wonderful stay at this homestay with a beautiful view of the snow bridge. The place has two connecting rooms via the balcony, and my kids really enjoyed staying here. The location is excellent and very convenient. The host was very kind, waited for us at the carpark, and took us to his homestay, and can help arrange transportation if needed. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
DDoudoufei625The hotel's location is super convenient, right on Qifeng Square, with the shuttle bus stop directly outside. You can see the hotel as soon as you get off, and it has the most prominent facade in the vicinity.
Upon check-in, we received complimentary fruit, and when we checked out, we were given a small souvenir. The room was equipped with a smart assistant (XiaoDu) that controlled the curtains and TV. Breakfast was quite substantial, offering freshly made rice noodles, scrambled eggs, pastries, and desserts. It was served from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and even if you woke up late and arrived closer to 9 AM, there was still plenty of food available until everyone had finished eating.
It's just a few minutes' walk to Hongqiao. If you go down the stairs to the right of Hongqiao and then turn right again, you can catch the night boat tour. It's worth pre-booking a combined ticket for the scenic area. The night tour lasts about 25 minutes, and the illuminated scenery is stunning, with performances like Cui Cui along the Tuojiang River.
GGuest UserI was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is clean and tidy, with a cozy atmosphere. The room was spacious and well-equipped. The bed was super comfortable, I slept soundly all night. The staff were friendly and patient, providing excellent service. The surrounding area is convenient with easy access to transportation. The hygiene was impeccable, no corners cut, and the soundproofing was great. High value for money, a wonderful experience, highly recommended!
MM332728****The environment here is fantastic! The hotel room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a beautiful decor. Each room has a unique name, and we absolutely loved ours, 'Jian Shan' (Seeing the Mountain). It's very close to the old town center, yet the guesthouse surroundings were completely quiet. Plus, there's an elevator, which was super convenient!
As for the service, the guesthouse owner was wonderful. They contacted us beforehand to arrange airport/station transfers. The restaurant they recommended was so good that my friend and I ate there two days in a row! They even brought us fresh fruit on the day we checked in.
The breakfast at the guesthouse was amazing, especially the rice noodles – absolutely delicious!
GGuest UserPros:
- nice room
- clean
- staff helped me carry my backpack to room and took me to where taxi pickup point was
- location is centre to everything
- nice views
Cons:
- at the top of a BIG hill (it says elevator is provided but it only brings you to the start of what are a VERY long climb of stairs to your room)
- nowhere did it say the room would only be accessible via stairs (saying they have an elevator is very misleading), only because I read a review which mentioned there were stairs did I make a special request to have my bags kept at reception as I wouldn’t be able to bring them to my room. Even though I booked and made my request in advance (via Trip.com’s process when booking), they did not even read it so I had to deal with this problem once I arrived.
- wiring in the shower (not sure if it’s save or not, but made me uncomfortable)
- due to my tier level with Trip.com I was told I would get; late check out, room upgrade and free breakfast. When they checked me in and I asked about breakfast they told me that I didn’t have it included. After showing them I did, only then did they actually look at my booking - terrible. I then asked about the room upgrade as the hotel was not fully booked and they said that this was the room upgrade… it was not, this was the room I booked (which is fine, I just don’t appreciate being lied to when you clearly didn’t look at my booking).
Overall thoughts:
- if you only have one small bag that you can carry with ease, then it’s great
- if you have large/multiple/heavy luggage don’t book here! You can get a day ticket to walk up the hill (where the hotel rooms are) for pictures of the view
- Trip.com please get this hotel to actually look at the bookings made and to honour special requests and tier privileges where possible
GGuest UserWe had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great—slightly away from the main tourist areas, so it’s peaceful and less crowded, yet still very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to find food and essentials.
The hotel faces the river, offering a nice view, and you don’t have to drag your luggage over any rocky paths—the car can drive right up to the entrance, which is a big plus.
We stayed in the rooftop room on the 4th floor. While there’s no elevator, the staff were very helpful and carried our luggage up during check-in and back down when we checked out. The owner and staff were all friendly and accommodating, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
