Great
GGuest UserI recently had the pleasure of staying at Oasis Chinese Guesthouse in Egypt, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, Kevin, the owner, and his wife made me feel incredibly welcome. Their warm hospitality and genuine kindness created a home-like atmosphere that made my stay truly memorable.
The guesthouse itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering all the necessary amenities for a relaxing visit. The peaceful surroundings and authentic charm of the property perfectly complement the friendly service provided by Kevin and his wife.
Overall, my stay at Oasis Chinese Guesthouse was delightful, thanks to the personal touch and exceptional service of its wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Egypt.
GGuest UserRoom is in a good location close to Tahrir Square and Egyptian Museum. You will need to carry your luggage up the stairs for one floor after taking the lift (goes up to the sixth floor) which is something to note if you have heavy luggage. Room is basic but comfortable enough, would like to suggest putting more hooks in the toilet and more electrical outlets.
GGuest UserThis hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby.
Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on ******* and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid.
The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo.
The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel.
We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well.
GGuest UserOverall, this hotel offers excellent value for money.
▼Pros
① The air conditioning works very well.
② The reception staff are friendly (similar to those in Japan).
③ There's a concierge. (I purchased my tickets online, but they didn't arrive by email. I had to call the ticket sales company and they resolved the issue.)
④ Aside from the ants, the room was clean.
▼Cons
① There were a ton of ants in the room.
② While the pyramids are certainly close, the entrance gate is quite far away. The entrance gate closest to the hotel was closed and inaccessible.
GGuest UserThe location is good as it is close to the downtown area. The building may be difficult to find at first glance. It was clean and the room was spacious for the price. The staff was also kind. You can see the whole view of Cairo from the rooftop.
The hotel is located in one part of a building, so you have to take an elevator to get to the entrance. The elevator is a different type than in Japan, so it's surprising at first, but it's fun to think of it as an experience. As the reviews said, I think this hotel can be recommended to Japanese people as well.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum,
The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean.
The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly
I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them
** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn.
Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine
In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice
LLiliiaIn the very center.
The guys at the reception tried to help with everything.
But it is really hard to find. The entrance is to the left of the bakery, in the entrance hall and on the 5th floor.
The water from the tap disappeared several times, they fixed it quickly.
p.s. several taoakashki were noticed. But considering that this is an old residential building, for Cairo this is probably not surprising.
GGuest UserThe front desk staff were very helpful.
It's located in the city center, so there are many things nearby, so there were no particular issues.
The air conditioning and shower temperature and water flow were fine.
I stayed in a single room.
The room was about half the size of a business hotel, and both the room and bathroom were quite small, but it was fine for just sleeping.
However, there were no outlets near the bed, so I had to unplug the TV, which was mounted in the middle of the wall.
It was located high up, far from the bed, so that was inconvenient.
GGuest UserWhen we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.
